Royal Lodge Motel — Hotel in Coalinga

Dont even know the fellars name that runs the joint. We just call him budtee (buddy with an Arab accent) because that's what he always called us. The first rooms were alright. Like a 2.5 /5 but there were 4 of us working together and budtee had a room with 3 beds and I had an air mattress. Well he quoted us 60 a night then we got there and his wife complained to him when she found out that he told us 60 so then he charged us 80 a night. So that was alright but the room didn't have a heater in the second room. The hot water didn't work. The electrical is all against code and the outlets don't work. He told me if I wanted to use the stove I'd have to turn the gas valve on myself. And to top it all off he told us we couldn't drink outside of our room while we smoked... We work in the oilfield. Away from our wives what are we gonna do but drink. Horrible room ... Horrible service . got complained at by management when I asked for another blanket and some pillows. The cable was also about to be shut off because budtee didn't pay his bill so my buddy bill Richardson from Comcast...

I don’t think I’ve ever felt the need to click terrible, but seriously it was dreadful. ||On arrival we thought the place was closed and out of business. But apparently not once the bell was finally answered. ||It took me over 15mins check in because they didn’t understand my English, they spent 5 mins of that talking between themselves - my travel buddy was convinced they where talking about us. ||Now the room. The shower was unusable it was that revolting, only hand towels given, no soap or anything. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the pillows flatter than pancakes. Nothing matched and the curtains where stained (you could tell from the back). The tiled floor was damaged and I got cut on my foot. The room was dirty. ||Free wifi was non existent. ||We left early. It’s not worth saving a few dollars for this...

If I could enter a zero I would. Manager & his wife were friendly enough but I was appalled at the room. AC that didn't work, beds with bugs, beds with no mattress covers or blankets, just 2 bath towels (no washcloths or hand towels) EVERYTHING needed repair. I guess what bothered me the most was that I didn't feel safe. In looking at the owner's quarters, I saw that he had a separate door that's slid in front of his unit with a big lock on it and bars on the windows. That tells me something about this place. I am laying awake in bed at the moment and terrified that someone is going to break in. I can't wait until Daybreak so we can get back...
