Apparently the manager here has a prejudice against people who ride motorcycles. We arrived after 12 hours on the road, very tired and weary. The 1st thing the manager says to me is if I use a towel to clean my bike that they will charge my credit card $50. No hello, no how are you, no welcome. Just a rude and condescending manager. Plus most hotels that cater to motorcyclists offer towels especially just to clean motorcycles. It's a small thing to do.
Got to our room and went to heat up some food in the microwave and it did not work. The bathroom still had hair in the shower and there were dirty towels on the floor. Went down and asked the manager nicely if he could take care of these things. His response was "if you don't like it, you can leave". I was flabbergasted. I have owned 2 businesses for 26 years that depend upon great customer service. And this guy was definitely prejudiced and rude. We were here for an event as part of a larger group and we knew there would be no other hotels available. So we were stuck.
The next morning we went down to the complimentary breakfast. The room was tiny. There was one woman trying to keep up with everything and we could not find any plates. We asked her nicely if we could help her by putting out some plates for her. She stated that they were out of plates and if we didn't like it we could leave. Seems to be that is their favorite thing to say here. Luckily there was a place a few miles down the road called Rocky Mountain Mojoe and we had great breakfasts there. Ate there every morning
After breakfast we met up with our group to go for a ride. Within 2 minutes of leaving my wife informed me she forgot her camera, so I turned back around to get it. When we stay at any hotel, we always put the "do not disturb" sign on the door. We do not like any one going in the room while we are away. I opened the door and one of their employees was in my room. He said that even when the do not disturb sign is displayed that they still check the rooms for toilet paper and towels. That is complete BS... no one does that. Plus the door was closed and it's supposed to be open when housekeeping is there. Plus he had no housekeeping cart in the hallway! And I didn't dare complain to the manager for fear of being kicked out and no other hotels available. We ended up taking out all our valuables and locking them inside our motorcycle trailer
Next morning my wife and I wake up to having several bug bites each. Again we did not complain and we went and bought our own linens to used while we were there
There is no pool. What they call a pool is actually a very small hot tub. And the hot tub is glass enclosed right by the front door, so everyone who goes in and out sees you
There is no exercise room. They stuck a stationary bike in the corner of the hot tub room. The bike was all rusted out from the steam in there. And that was all they had.
After we checked out we told the manager about the employee who was in our room and of course he denied it. I showed him a picture I took on my iphone of the employee in there and he accused me of photoshopping it and that if I complained to any one about it that he would sue me.
While I enjoy riding a motorcycle, I am not a biker per se as some might think or stereotype. I own 2 very successful businesses. Others in our group include an attorney, the CEO of a major pharmaceutical company and other successful entrepreneurs and business owners. We all agree that we will never stay here again. We spend a lot of time traveling this great country and unfortunately we made a terrible mistake by...
Read moreWe came from out of state to a run down, paint peeling off the walls motel. Very outdated!! Decided to check in anyways and the front desk guy was very nice and super friendly. Long story short, ended up having a family emergency and had to head back home. We let the front desk know ( the original guy who checked us in and now a lady as well) and at first they were super kind and understanding of the situation. About 10 minutes later we get a call from a Baton Rouge area code. Turns out the front desk lady called us from a personal number to accuse us of sleeping in the bed and doing drugs?!? After she yelled at us she hung up. We called back to get more information and she then hung up on us again. We were only there for about 25 minutes and the front desk guy that checked us in vouched for us. We did sit on the bed as we were about to get comfortable thinking we were going to stay. I have no clue where they got the idea of us doing drugs?!? We are from out of state hours away so i genuinely don’t understand how we would even have drugs or get drugs. The lady said she called the cops and they are charging us $250. They told us to turn around and come back but sorry we have an emergency that is way more important. We will be taking this higher up as this is totally uncalled for and disrespectful. The motel is dirty and didn’t even have hand soap. The back door doesn’t shut properly, the front door does not have a lock, random holes and nails in the wall.
Just find a different place!!! Pay the extra $50 not worth...
Read moreWe generally spend very little time in a room, so we don’t need a 5 star hotel.
Like many reviews, the location was lovely and the staff was kind.
The room was clean, too clean. It wreaked of perfume. It hit us like a hammer as soon as we entered the room. Gave us both headaches, and my wife’s nose ran like a fire hose.
Although quite cold we opened the window to air it out. Staff could not relocate us because they didn’t have another dog room.
We left for dinner and it began raining hard. So hard, that the door card key wouldn’t work. We had to eventually get back he manager to let us in. The smell was still horrific and we told them we were cancelling the remainder of our stay. They were very accommodating to us.
After returning from dinner, we noticed a plug in are freshener as the cause of the horrible smell.
We couldn’t heat the room because it made too much racket.
It rained all night long and I heard clanging outside so I got up to see if someone was trying to break into our car. As I walked to the window, the entire floor near the door was flooded with freezing water. The noise was the rain hitting the window.
As we prepared to check out I informed the manager who said, “sorry.” They didn’t try to comp us - it was a dreadful experience. To top it off I came down with a...
