This review is for the RV Park, not the motels
If I could stand on the side of the highway waving a red flag, I would. This place was dirty, unsafe, and run by a man who I hope finds a shred of happiness in his life somewhere, because he clearly doesn't have any right now. We tried to leave and go somewhere else but all the other campgrounds and parks were full.
I'll start with the bathrooms. For the first two days we were there, the same collection of dead flies and bugs sat on the counter tops between the sinks. When we brought this up with one of the employees, she assured us the bathrooms had been cleaned... yeah right. The trash in the bathroom was never taken out the entire time we were there, and one of the two stalls was out of toilet paper for the majority of our stay. The showers belong in some nightmare of eastern Europe in the 1940s - one large cinder block chamber with four shower nozzles coming out of the walls. No curtains, no stalls, just one big room. Oh, and the best part? It hardly drained. So by the end of your shower, you were up to your ankles in your own dirty water.
I was there for three nights, and for two of those nights I got a very much undesired front-row seat to the property's neighbors' domestic drama. We were woken up with screaming, shouting, swearing, cars flying in and out of the driveway as the wayward party left, came back to fight some more, then left again. We also heard what might have been gunshots, but we weren't sure. It could have been fireworks, but the timing was around the domestic incident.
On the second night, around 9:30 pm, the Unhappy Man Who Owns the Establishment stopped by to let us know that tents were absolutely not permitted and that it had to come down now. It is not posted anywhere in the park that tents aren't permitted and it wasn't on any of the literature we received. He was nasty and unkind about it, and put us in a real pinch since our pop up camper was at capacity and didn't have room for the two who were in the tent. So, people had to sleep in the car for the remaining nights.
The only redeeming quality is its proximity to Glacier National Park, and the Huckleberry Patch restaurant down the road. We ate there several times and really enjoyed...
Read moreEdit after reply: I did contact the office earlier in the day letting them know that I would be arriving after 7:00 p.m., closer to 8:30 or 9:00, they originally said that would be fine. Unfortunately I had some issues leading up to leaving town, and I didn't know there was going to be a problem checking in a little bit later and that is when they called me at 9:30 telling me I couldn't pull in. As for the host "checking what time I was leaving" that is absolutely not how it went, he walked straight up to my camper tapped on his watch three different times telling me that I was overdue and passed my time, he was not kindly asking me when I would be leaving. Knowing that I was doing the last steps in hooking my camper up to pull out. They were very rude about it, even after I said I was trying to leave and there was nothing I could do about it at that point, he rolled his eyes and walked away.
Writing this post to forewarn anybody that is a decent and friendly person. These people refused to let me check in after 9:00 p.m. even though I've had a reservation for months and nowhere on their website is it stated that you can't come in after dark. The manager argued with me about giving me a refund for the night he refused to let me stay there, after about 10 minutes he finally agreed to refund me in the morning. We pulled into town around 10pm and had to sleep in a parking lot nearby. As for the rest of the weekend, Friday through Sunday, the host did nothing but monitor the area, making sure you didn't have rugs or floor mats down "because it would ruin the grass" even though you are allowed to park on the grass and leave tire tracks, the host also watches your every move, your not allowed to walk inbetween campers or have fires. The host was also very rude when I was checking out a mere 15 minutes late, attacking me while I was in the middle of getting my camper on the hitch ready to pull out. I would not recommend this place even if it is your...
Read moreCould have been a great experience but ended up disappointed. We rented both RV sites and a cabin off-site for our family. We asked in the office about bringing our dogs to the cabin and were told it was fine if they remained outside. We followed these directions completely! The owner came by and saw the dogs sitting on the back deck (now, we know he Hwas not aware that we had been told tHard was OK). When we left, we were charged a fee for having the dogs there. We contacted the owner who reported there was dog hair on the sofa. It is a cloth sofa so I suspect maybe a few dog hairs transferred from our clothes to the sofa material. Our dogs were never inside!! The owner was very rude when we called about the added charge and said he would not have said it was OK for them to be there. We would have been fine with that answer but not honoring the answer we received is not OK. He was even there and saw the dogs outside and didn’t say anything?? Nice place but BEWARE of any verbal interactions and take pictures of how you leave the place for proof when they add additional charges upon your departure.
Edited: It did sour our experience for sure!! We did not allow the dogs in the house just as we agreed to. This was very upsetting to...
