Great Bear Cafe — Restaurant in Columbia Falls

HOLD UP!!!!!!! If this isn't the last greatest diner in the northwest, I don't know what is. The owner loves to cook, his passion is second to none. Make sure you ask for him. He loves to chat it up.... Let's get to the menu. My favorite that keeps me going back is the Grilled Turkey Club with bacon on sourdough with sriracha mayo and pepper jack cheese. I like to add the cherry chutney to the sandwich for a little sweet hot spin. My darling wife can't seem to waver from the grilled sourdough Huckleberry Chicken sandwich. And i'm ok with it..... because i get the half she doesn't eat. haha. for a side i order the homemade soup option....extremely tasty. Its located in Hungry Horse, so if you're headed home from a hike at Glacier Park or white rafting adventure its a great place to stop to replenish that protein and hydrate. They aren't big on gluten free substitution that's why i do sourdough. My body seems to do ok with that. They also offer some wild Elk and Buffalo burgers if your into that. OOOOOOH!!!! wait one minute! their Biscuits and Gravy breakfast will send your taste buds through the roof. Enuff said go...

This place is a hidden gem!

Just because it's not flashy, don't pad it up. The breakfast was fantastic! I'm kind if a breakfast junkie and this was soooo good. I think it was cake the country breakfast but I'm not sure. It had homemade EVERYTHING. The hashbrowns were perfect. A little crispy edges and perfect for sopping up my excellent cooked over easy eggs. The biscuits were great. They cut these scratch made morsels open and crisp up the inside on the griddle. So good with honey. For me, the hook was the house made sausage patties. Perfectly seasoned and juicy. I could eat a stack of those! The waitress was so happy and pleasant you felt welcomed from the minute you stepped in. Their Playlist was fun and I found myself singing along (to myself) many times. Conveniently located just off the main road, there's plenty of parking. I'll come back...

We were heading into the park one early morning and thought we would stop in and grab breakfast before starting our day. My husband and I split 2 breakfast plates. 1 was their AMAZING cinnamon roll. Omg, It was a party in my mouth. 😋 My husband ordered the smothered Biscuit Sandwich. Wow!!! Those Biscuits are soooo good!! Im usually not a fan of Biscuits. These left me wanting more. Im glad my hubby and I shared our breakfast together. We all left there talking about our breakfast all day. It was that good!! ❤️❤️❤️ The other bonus was the lady working that morning. I hate we didn't get her name. She was pretty amazing. She gave us some pointers one what do go see and check out if we hadn't yet. She told us to check out the damaged, so we did.
