This brand claims to be the largest hotel chain in the world, which might be the biggest lie in the world because they are 100% privately owned. The only thing they are selling is standards, and this property is doing a fine job of maintaining those. I’ve stayed in half the rooms in this property alone, and there’s never a problem with the sleeping rooms or quality of the building. ||One morning one of their shower heads just fell off and hit me in the noggin. It didn’t do any damage, and I quickly forgot about it. The building has a foundation problem which is evident in the bathroom, but the fixtures, towels, and other stuff was sparkling clean with no mold whatsoever, and works right. In this state the only way to stop foundation problems is to refrain from building any kind of building, because we are sitting on clay.||The desk agent was couteous, professional, extra helpful, and welcoming. The rate here of $0 was super good, as I paid for my stay with loyalty points. They didn’t even want a credit card for incidental charges.||They have ½ a fresh, clean, swimming pool in that it’s about 3’ deep with no diving. Compared to the city pool I remember at Lake Eanes which was 12’ deep this is a wading pool, but nobody builds them that deep today. That 8’ tall diving board was something to behold, but too many people were getting hurt, and no insurance company will cover one any more. ||Their landscaping has had a chance to grow, and the grounds are quite nice, but I’d recommend you don’t park under the tree unless you want to wash your car in the morning. They took out the upstairs soda machine and put back coin operated washer and dryer pair. With the number of tradesmen staying here I’m sure that’s a welcome change.||This city is literally starving for something to eat. There’s only one place that serves real breakfast to your table, where they once had 7 choices. The grocery situation is about the same with one monopolistic retailer, and the dollar store. There is some very nice dining downtown but they don’t make breakfast. On the other side of the square one can buy breakfast but they are always under-staffed and painfully slow.||My room had plenty of towels, the bed, pillows, and linens in perfect condition, and the pull-out divan showed no signs of wear. The other furniture in here looks like it was purchased yesterday. The internet was easy to connect with plenty of speed, and the TV a modern flat-screen with lots more to choose from than what I need.||Historically I don’t do free breakfast in the hotel, but in the past it’s been plenty good enough. I want more than any hotel is going to provide for nothing and I have to pay for it.||If you need a place to stay in this village it doesn’t get better than this, and the community needed. The owner, Sam is a very professional guy who cares a lot about what you get, and that you’re happy with it.||I do recommend them, and I’m sure...
Read moreI’ve stayed with this property before, and they are still the newest and nicest property in town. Right now they have shut down breakfast and much of everything else shared because the virus is surging everywhere. The room quality was good, having a nice TV and a lot of space. The desk agents were courteous and prompt.
However, the building is built from the lowest grade materials, and it’s starting to collapse on them. The awning has leaked since they built the place and it’s now buckling in the middle and it’s going to fall in. They have cut the stucco back where it’s obvious that this thing was leaking the day the contractor left. It’s not very pretty right now.
In my room I noticed the door is crooked in it’s frame, and the night latch didn’t want to close. In the bath room the vanity is sagging and pulling away from the wall leaving a downhill situation on the dressing table. None of the doors on the outside of the building shut correctly. The whole thing looks like a paper maché structure even though it wasn’t intended to be. The owners are going to be burdened with cheap construction to the grave.
On the southeast corner of the building they have one tree that has turned into a bird sanctuary, and subsequently a non-stop source for bird potty. It’s guarding the mail box to keep any would-be mail thieves strictly away. I parked under it for just a couple minutes until I noticed what was going on, then quickly moved. There’s nothing that can be done to stop this, thus they should wake up and smell the bird potty and cut that tree down.
The appearance of the place is beginning to sag prematurely which is unfortunate. Right now it’s everything it’s supposed to be, but it’s not going to stay that way. I can recommend it because it’s the newest place in town, and I’ve had no trouble with them. But, when the awning over the entry is about to cave in over your head, it’s time to hide it, remove it, or fix it. The place would operate perfectly well if they would just take that awning off and throw it away and replace it with something canvas to keep guests dry.
If you need a place to stay in Comanche, this is still the best one. There isn’t much to eat in Comanche except fast food, and none of those are near this property. When this virus mess finally dissipates it’s time to offer the guest something for breakfast, because almost...
Read moreAfter thinking about this hotel, I've come up with only 3 stars. The people that work here are 5 star people. Very nice, courteous and help full. The hotel is VERY clean. The reason for only 3 stars is their breakfast, REALLY soft beds and tiny pillows, and very cheap wash clothes. If you stay for more than one day. Which I stayed 5 days. You will notice eggs and sausage patties EVERY DAY!!!! I did ask to see if they serve anything else. The usual other breakfasts items like sausage links, or bacon, ham, sausage biscuits? The very polite lady explained that they do not. Its ALWAYS eggs and sausage patties. Sometimes they substitute egg cheese omelet for the watery scrambled eggs. But other than that, no. Towels are ok. The wash cloths are really thin, cheap pieces of material. The last is the beds. I travel alot in the U.S. this hotel has by the farthest softest beds I've ever slept on. I woke up the first morning with a sore back and stiff neck.By the third night I couldnt sleep at all. The pillows didnt help either. WAY to SMALL. Not your normal size pillows. I slept on the floor the 4 night. I really do like the staff here and the cleanliness, but the breakfast, beds and pillows need to...
