My partner, James, and I had a wonderful experience at Hotel Congdon. We are cyclists and world travelers. This year, we are limited to traveling and cycling in the Pacific Northwest due to the pandemic, but this has truly been a beautiful opportunity to explore our own, amazing region. Congdon is a gem we might have missed. We spent two nights at the hotel.

The hotel is lovely, immaculately clean, and in a good location. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs as cyclists. I would love to see them featured by Travel Oregon as a “bike friendly” hotel. (This is a gorgeous area for cycling and gravel biking!) It is an older hotel, but it is in good condition and very comfortable.

We enjoyed talking with the local people we met in the lobby, and hearing a bit about life in Congdon. The town itself is charming and obviously loved by its inhabitants. Be careful to get your dinner early. Restaurant hours in town are limited due to Covid.

An added note: I accidentally left a necklace at the hotel and did not realize it until I got back to Portland. We called to ask if they would look for it. The next day, it arrived...

We spent Memorial weekend at the Condon Hotel and loved our stay. Joseph, the manager is awesome! Super helpful and friendly and he has a very interesting past and present. He is currently ranked 3rd in the world for Fire Knife Dancing! One never knows who you are going to meet and what their story is.

Back to the hotel....the room was very nice; newly refurbished and clean. The breakfast is nothing special but no complaints. Hard boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt and toast. My only suggestion is if you arrive and no one at the desk and they don’t answer the bell just give them a call to the hotel phone number and they should get you call and be there in a bit. It is a small hotel with a small staff. Just step into Condon time and all is good!

I almost forgot to mention the restaurant. I had the chicken with calamari as an appetizer. I was pleasantly surprised by both. They were both cooked so they were tender and juicy. You know how calamari is often rubbery; not these! The...

Wow, what an amazing gem of a hotel!! The propirators Joseph & Jane have done a fabulous job restoring this hotel which just adds to the current resurgence in the area. It’s so wonderful to see an historic hotel preserved. The rooms are elegant and well appointed and very comfortable. We had room 305 which was a queen deluxe that has a separate sitting room. Rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors and there’s hardly any traffic so every room is quiet. Each floor has a common area with comfortable reading chairs and plenty of books. The 2nd floor has a coffee bar, microwave, toaster oven and a large refrigerator that you can share with the other guests. Your room comes with a continental breakfast that was very nicely presented and had a selection of my favorite lux English jams. The breakfast room is beautifully done and is where you can book your wedding or catered event. The lobby has big over stuff chairs that invite you to relax and socialize. We would definitely...

My wife and I spent a few days here in 2016. A very historic and elegant facility. We enjoyed the stay very much. We were here to explore and learn about the pioneer history of the north central Oregon area. I’ve enclosed several pictures which will show much of the hotel. The town is very small, but we love small towns like this. The food situation is a little weak. The hotel serves a morning breakfast and a nice wine-and-cheese setup in the afternoons. No evening or lunch meal, at least when we were there. We ate those meals in town across the street at a restaurant which left a little to be desired. We really enjoyed talking to the proprietor (I forget his name) about the history of the hotel and also of the beautiful turn-of-the-century architecture incorporated. All-in-all we had a great time and would recommend.
