We had an open few days and decided to camp near our son for a visit rather than getting a hotel or bnb. So glad we found this campground!! Staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Showed us to our site, waited while we got connected, delivered our firewood. The restrooms/showers were super clean and modern. You can tell that the new owners have worked very hard to improve this property!! Most of the sites are seasonal like many campgrounds.
Pros: Location, directional signage, staff, improvements, clean, full hookups. Beautiful pool and nice outdoor games, open spaces, modern playground, good camp store. Much to do here, lots of weekend activities! So glad they had some pull thru spots for Class A's. Quiet, with only very minor road noise as it is set back on beautiful open, hilly fields. Nearby things to do and shopping.
Cons: While still in progress with improvements, they just have blacktop millings for the parking pad and they are soft and not level. That being said, we were able to almost level our 39' coach with a little patience. I only comment on this because we know many Class A owners who only park on level, concrete pads. Sites are a little tough to walk on because prior excavation for improvements has settled into dips. In spite of these "growing pains" we would highly recommend this campground! We are business owners and can appreciate the heart and investment that these folks are putting into making this an amazing property and experience.
Important travel note: Do NOT take Eagle Mill Rd if you have anything other than a camper van or small Class C. First, it is extremely tight making the turn off 422. And that is just the beginning of the "This was a bad idea!" situations. After you get onto the road, there is a warning sign about absolutely no tractor trailers but nowhere to turn around at that point. "Well, that's not us", I thought... Intended for 2 cars to pass, exttemely narrow, no shoulders, stop signs on hills with poor visibility. On some curves we took up the whole road. Yes, it saves you a few miles... but even my husband, a professional semi driver and adrenaline junkie said "That was crazy!" Both Google Maps and our RV trip routing sent us this way, and so did the campground...
Read moreWe called about a seasonal lot for a towing camper we just purchased. Upon arrival we were greeted by the park manager. Very nice kid. He led us to a field right past the weekender area because the owner has to pull you into your spot. Fine. We had minor exterior damage due to wind on our 2005 camper. We started repairs while waiting on the owner's arrival . The owner pulled up in his truck. Not a word spoken for what seemed like an eternity. He then informed us after all getting time off work and our schedules synced that there is a clause in the contract that you cannot have any type of exterior patches nor can you have a camper over 12 years old. Then he proceeded to walk around our camper and point out every single flaw and tell us to "take it back to where we got it, dealerships would never take this in on trade." He offered to let us finish our repair due to an approaching rainstorm. So we did. As soon as the rain stopped they sent out a "lady" to weed eat the grass around the boats we were besides to the point I had grass clippings hitting me in my face. He owner painted a pretty horrible picture for the type of people he lets into his park. We might not have a brand new trailer. But at least we can say we are down to earth nice people. I will never in my life step foot in that campground again. And to the owner of this park, maybe you should have a little common sense and let your office employees question potential customers on the phone. Two simple questions is all you need, how old is the trailer? And any exterior patches? We are pulling into another campground as I write this and are being welcomed with hospitality and warmth, try...
Read moreEverything about this experience, from calling to book our site for the weekend to being there and leaving was top quality service! The owners, Jake and Kenny are the friendliest and easiest people to talk to. my MIL wanted to see the entire campground but is not able to do a long distance walk. After checking in on renting a golf cart and finding out there were none, Kenny himself took her and my FIL on a ride through the entirety of the land and then came back and took my husband and myself! Our site was clean and the grass had been cut recently. No weeds, no problems. Each site is also given a picnic table and fire ring that were both in great condition. Our neighbors were friendly and interested in my dog, and we met their pets as well! All the permanant campers who would drive by were waving and saying hello. ALL of them! We met people around the camp store area that were just so nice, and Jamie? inside is just wonderful. She is very knowledgable of the whole campground and knows who is who and treats everyone with such kindness! Saturday evening there was a murder/mystery dinner and show for only $10 per person! This was a catered meal and the show was fun and interactive. Best entertainment for such a low cost! Of course, if you are headed to stay there and see something like this event happening, buy your tickets in advance! They sold out! I couldn't reccomend this campground anymore than I am right now! If we were to ever decide to go somewhere permanant Buttercup Woodlands would be my choice of all the camgrounds we have visited! Thank you all for a...
