My experience at this hotel was absolutely unacceptable. I would never recommend this location to anyone. In fact, I would immediately direct anyone to stay at the competitor just down the road.||||Let me start with the only positives: the bed was clean and comfortable, and the floors were also clean. That’s it. Everything else was a disaster.||||From the moment we arrived, the service was dismissive and unprofessional. We were greeted by a rude front desk woman who couldn’t even be bothered to pronounce my name correctly—even after I clearly said it. She offered information that was irrelevant to a multi-night stay and made it clear we were a burden.||||The room was large but severely under-furnished. Decorative paintings were stained with long streaks, lamp shades were filthy, and the couches looked like they were rescued from a curbside trash pile. Cables for the TV and fridge dangled dangerously due to poor outlet placement, and the window had a broken rod hanging from the outside. To top it off, the TV didn’t even work.||||When we brought this to the staff’s attention, we were promised a 10% discount. But instead of offering to fix the issue—like sending maintenance or providing a working TV—we were brushed off.||||Then we checked out the pool, which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. It was absolutely disgusting: floating trash, leaves, paper, plastic lids, gloves—you name it. The filters were clogged and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in days. When we complained, we were told the pool was “supposed to be closed.” In late April. In the South. That’s unacceptable and deceitful, especially considering the pool was advertised. The manager didn’t even know the pool was open, let alone in such a filthy state. And when we asked for a larger discount due to this major issue, we were told to contact his boss. It is not my job to chase down your management.||||While this was happening, we saw a family walking toward the pool, towels in hand. Clearly, they had no idea it was “closed” either.||||Back in the room, things got worse. The desk chair was torn and broken, and then the bathroom ceiling started leaking heavily. We were moved to Room 401. That room had more furniture—strange, since it was supposed to be the same type—but the lights didn’t work, and the AC made a horrible clanking noise because its housing was loose. We called the front desk repeatedly. No one answered. I had to go down in person and demand either a full refund or an immediate upgrade.||||We were finally moved to Room 405. While most things in this room worked, the shower was peeling so badly it felt unsafe to stand in, and the AC housing on the balcony was broken and leaning against the wall. We double-checked that the railing was bolted down—because by this point, nothing would surprise us. From the balcony, we saw kids using the pool skimmer to fish turtles out of the lake. The same dirty equipment used in the pool. Disgusting.||||The hallways looked like a rushed paint job with splotches everywhere. The “Baymont” sign on the building was damaged and broken—something we now recognize as the first red flag.||||At checkout, I overheard another guest upset that the advertised restaurant was closed—another key amenity falsely promoted. When we finally got our bill, we expected the 10% discount. Instead, a 10% charge was added.||||After calling the hotel, a staff member admitted that the manager had incorrectly added the discount as a charge. She promised we’d be refunded both that charge and the original 10%. But frankly, we should have been reimbursed far more—if not the entire cost of this mess.||||This experience was not just inconvenient—it was outrageous. I will never stay at another Wyndham property again. I will give my business to Hilton from now on, and I will make sure others know to...

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I canceled my reservation somewhere else to stay here BECAUSE the reviews were good and the rate was reasonable, so I feel compelled to document what I experienced. The boxes that I needed checked: pool, lake access, free breakfast, and I paid extra for the balcony. Yes, this place has all of these things, but I am beyond disappointed with the state of this facility.

First impression walking through the doors, bright and cheerful. Then the smell hit. Think 70s motel lounge: mildew, old food, and stale cigarettes

Made it to my room. It, too, smelled musty. It was nicely decorated, a little banged up, but nothing I can't live with. I laughed at the scrunched up toilet paper blocking the peep-hole. Like, wow...

The sliding door had smudges all over the inside and it's been awhile since the outside was cleaned.

The shower had hairs in it that were definitely not mine. There was an excessive amount of stains in the bottom of the tub and mildew stains around the faucet.

The duvet was stained.

There was someone else's hair tie under the chair (as well as other stuff 🤢)

I dropped something beside the fridge and noticed it was wet. Apparently, the condensation line drained into the floor

Now, breakfast... I went down before 0800 and expected a basic spread. Eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes, and some other carb (French toast, biscuit, etc ) Egg rounds, sausage, country potatoes, and biscuits were in the chafing dishes. The gravy was gone and dried out. No bread for toast, two bagels but no butter, peanut butter, or cream cheese. They have a pancake maker, but it was out of batter. They ran out of cups. The attendant was more concerned with talking to a guest and on her phone, to the point another guest had to interrupt to get cups. I made do with a couple of egg rounds and some sausage.

The garbage was overflowing, and the attendant tried smooshing it down versus taking it out.

All of the tables needed to be wiped down and swept. Several ceiling tiles had huge water stains.

Day two was mildly better. Me and another guest showed up at 8:55. The other guest asked what time breakfast stopped and this attendant was snarky with her reply, "9:00. You've stayed here before, you should know "

Now, the pool. I needs to be surfaced. The pool itself has chipped paint. There are broken tiles around the skimmer. There was a lot of floating debris, and once I entered the pool, I realized there were straws (plural) and other trash in the bottom of the pool. I was talking to another guest and apparently the pool was swampy green on Wednesday.

I wanted to sleep in, but there's a 2" gap from the bottom of the drapes to the floor, which defeats the purpose of blackout curtains. I conclude with the lake access. Yes, technically, there is access to the lake. If you want to swim in the lake debris blown into the cove from the prevailing winds.

This place needs to close for a week and clean the whole thing from...

Thank you for the wonderful stay!❤️We stayed for the 4th of July just to get out and enjoy the activity of Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Baymont sat directly on the lakeshore of Lake Hamilton. The hotel was clean, crisp, sheets, coverlet, bed, pillows, towels, toilet paper, water pressure, ice machine, air conditioner filter clean, clean, clean....The bar was a great escape since Sundays in the South is an abomination to sell liquor. I did not prepare for that fact since I live in a dry county. I thought no reason to drive an hour since I was going to a wet one for the Fourth. They had great priced specials. The bartenders were young, learning a trade, by taking advantage of so many needed jobs! Their tip jar was over flowing with $5 bills. ( Life lesson clean it out from time to time. Put it in a safe place to count up later. Reasons: 1. Being young, learning and easily distracted. Couples, groups, etc will distract you a take your kitty! 2. I see a fully loaded stuffed jar of tip money, I think, " They don't need anymore with all that, plus they'll be getting more." 3. Always count your earning in a private area with your co bartender there. Do your percentage split with all eyes on the money.) That said I wish they hadn't closed at 9pm. Fireworks went off everywhere, but from the hotel you couldn't see them. I was told that before I reserved the room, so I knew. The pool was refreshing. The guest polite, nice and easy going. Staff professional and helpful. Was a great stay and will definitely come back❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ (Warning this statement is about another Wyndham hotel!! Read reviews of all Wyndham sponsored hotels! Do not be fooled by pictures. Filtered, Photoshop, etc. Read reviews! We stayed at a Wyndham hotel in TEXARKANA Arkansas January 1st. It was so bad. It shouldn't be allowed on the websites of any hotel advertisment. It needs to be torn down. They still keep booking rooms from unknowing people even with bad reviews after another. Also what is said on hotel price search doesn't always mean the hotel follows. Like deposits. They ripped off $250 by taking the money twice from bank. First before review and another after review! Travelocity quoted a $50. refundable deposit. The hotel charged 120.) THIS IS NOT Baymont by the Lake! But, one Wyndham Sponsors! Update: Visited 10/1/23 thru 10/5/23 We decided to head east again to Hot Springs for this year’s second trip instead of south. Since it wasn’t a crowded holiday we were able to get a room up higher. We had a storm on the last night so that floor was a little more interesting to watch the lightning lol. We were lucky enough to have a moon for a little while for a couple of nights but it was further north. Great service as usual and staff as usual. The weather, day and night, couldn’t have been better 😊. ————————————————— Visited 7/2/23 thru 7/6/23 Hello again Arkansas lol. Eleven months in the making finally here lol. It’s good to be back here. Awesome location. This hotel is typical of any nicer hotel. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Each room above ground (4 floors) on the east side has a private rear balcony with a beautiful view of Lake Hamilton. Because it’s on the east side, the sun is off your balcony the latter half of the day and cooler at night. The main patio below is always fun to watch. Our first night there, there was a 22 fundraiser to help veterans. Lots of good people on the patio but that was over by dinner time. On our anniversary, the 3rd, a gentleman in a giant Bayliner docked up at the rear patio dock early evening and entertained the entire east side of the hotel balconies and patio with music playing from his boat. (awesome stereo too btw). He ordered lots of Papa John’s for everyone and invited everyone up on their balconies to come down to the patio dock for pizza and watch him dance lol. All in all, not a bad night 👍. Don’t worry, hotel staff does not tolerate anyone getting too loud. However our other 3 nights on the balcony was quiet and had an awesome night view. Watching it slowly get dark here is awesome as the boats and bay area lights start to come on. Had and awesome moon rise over the water on the 4th with some cool fireworks in the far distance. And FYI, the rooms have great ACs, plenty of ice on each floor, and nice (and fancy) heavy duty doors. This place is built solid so you DON’T hear your neighbors doors closing and thumping the whole floor like other hotels. And the sliding glass door to your balcony is VERY sound proof when shut. Nice clean and comfy beds and quiet rooms overnight. I’d definitely stay here yet again.
