Be careful when booking here. I booked online at around 1 am because of a bad storm and I had my 3 kids in the car ages 1-6. , I will tell all my friends and family who are from and around Laredo TX and San Antonio TX and all the way up to Dallas, after scheduling I stopped at the hotel 20 minutes later and the lady up front told me it was no problem she could cancel it for me since the rain had stopped and we needed to get home because we had work the next day and would had only stated a few hours. Anyhow I understand the cancellation fees are in place in case they lose out on reservations, but a small town like Cotulla I doubt they were booked, the lady in front even told me they had plenty of availability. It was my mistake for believing they could cancel an error I had made but they won’t refund me my cancellation fees. Be careful because apparently corporate has no say in what the owner chooses to do, and the owner Carlos Garcia told me that it was corporate who did not allow them to refund so it seems like everyone just likes to point a finger. So disappointing after being a loyal customer to Marriott they penalize for making a simple error because you put your faith in them. Anyhow warning everyone don’t book online or they’ll charge u cancellation fees, apparently you have to cancel within 24 hours of your reservation but since I did same day booking, I guess I never had. A chance to cancel. Ridiculous, 25 minutes? Really? Come on guys, any good ethical business owner sees the lack of empathy, even in these hard times we are all...
Read moreDear General Manager,|I would like to thank you and your staff for making our stay very enjoyable . During our stay, our family had a large gathering across the street at the convention center where several of our family stayed at your hotel. and from our experience, you made us feel like it was home away from home. |At one point on that first day, I want to make a point. Upon leaving and coming back several times that late afternoon trying to get things settled across the street a certain staff member that stuck out by the name of Rosemary Garza at the front desk would always make us feel welcomed. Rosemary saw that we were struggling with the high temperatures of heat and asked if would like some water and how was our stay going so far and asked if there was anything we needed. Rosemary also gave us recommendations of place to go as well !!!||Rosemary job well done !!!! And if I was your boss, I would hire more personnel like you ! You have a shining and welcoming personality.|We always looked forward to seeing Rosemary‘s :-) smiling face every afternoon upon entering the lobby and she would wish us a good night every night.||Your breakfast was OK. I know we had a lot of people you had to keep up with & the hot water container being broke, but that’s OK. We managed just fine and had our tummy’s full.|Thank...
Read moreLiterally shocked this place has good reviews —do not stay here. I’ve always had great experiences at Fairfield Inns, but this location was an absolute outrage. First of all, they waited until after I paid a whopping $130 to inform me that none of the key cards work. If you leave your room, you literally have to leave the door open or risk being locked out. That alone should be disqualifying.
But it gets worse: the hallways reek of mold, the air conditioning wasn’t even turned on when it was 115°F outside, and the place is visibly run-down. One room I even had to turn down because it literally smelled like cigarette smoke!! Fairfields are supposed to be high end, or at least budget friendly high end . It feels like a $40-a-night motel at best—not a $130/night hotel. The fact that they’re charging that much is flat-out robbery.
On top of that, I was scolded by a rude staff member for not wearing shoes at breakfast, despite the breakfast missing key things: their homemade hot and ready oatmeal , bowls.. and oh you know the hotels missing just a safe place to sleep in general.
Avoid this place. It’s not just disappointing—it’s...
