Upon arrival, the entire parking lot was full with trucks and/or boats, parked to where they were taking 2-5 spots. There were NO spots to park my single vehicle. Although there were "supposedly" rules that stated boats were to be parked in the grass, the hotel staff refused to enforce it. I was told, "we can't make them do it, you can park in the grass" - I told them I was not parking in the grass! I do not have a vehicle that does not get stuck in such areas.
My booking was for FIVE people! I was informed while booking that my reserved room was for FIVE people - when I got in my room, it was 2 double beds -enough to fit 4 people. When I called the front desk, I was told, I would have have to pay extra for an additional roll-away. I feel this should have been conveyed to me when booking a room for FIVE people, otherwise I would have made my reservation elsewhere! After the first night stay, the front office called me on my cell phone, interrupting my family's vacation, to ask me if I was going to need the extra bed for tonight's stay as well...(since I didn't send a member of my family home, logic says, if I'm still staying, I still need it)...then proceeded to tell me I needed to provide them with a credit card for the incidentals and extra bed (keep in mind, they had my credit card info on file - how else did I book the room) - so at this point, I'm feeling more and more like I'm attempting to be scammed. I NEVER gave more credit card info to the front desk, but "oddly enough" they managed to charge me an extra $30 for a extra bed that I was told would not be needed since again, my booking was for FIVE people!
the pool/hot tub - within less than 5 minutes of being there - I was literally sick! I had to go outside, soaking wet, just to get fresh air and to throw up! Apparently pure bleach was used instead the appropriate amount of chlorine. My brand new, white swimsuit, had turned dingy yellow - now ruined! My daughter was not only throwing up, but had pieces of her hair coming out when she showered. I was coughing up blood. It was my husband, myself and 3 kids - all of our chests and throats were on fire - like we had breathed in straight chemicals! It was the worst feeling! I had spoken to other guests staying there, and they complained of the same. I am having to now make my family doctor appointments to get chest x-rays, especially, as 2 of my children already have breathing problems with asthma.
I will definitely NEVER come back to this Hampton Inn - and will for sure, advise everyone I know to steer clear...
Read moreI travel often and usually stay at Hilton properties because I know what level of quality to expect. Unfortunately, this location fell short. While the entrance and lobby area were clean, modern, and inviting, the quality didn’t carry over into the rooms.
The shower was old, discolored, and had visible cracks along the bottom, definitely not in line with what I’d expect for the price. The sheets had a few stains, and we found multiple beetles and a significant number of ants throughout the bathroom and sleeping area. It was clear the closet hadn’t been swept in a long time, as there was a buildup of dead ants and crumbs. There were also dead moths on the headboard and crumbs along the bed frame.
That said, the front desk staff was incredibly kind and helpful and they were easily the best part of the experience and did their best to make us feel welcome. Their professionalism definitely helped improve an otherwise disappointing stay.
I understand that no hotel is perfect, but the presence of bugs in nearly every part of the room, along with an outdated and poorly maintained bathroom, made this stay fall far below Hilton standards. If you’re considering this location, I’d recommend making the short drive to Knoxville, where other Hilton properties offer a much better experience for the same (or slightly higher) cost with cleaner, updated rooms that truly reflect the...
Read moreBooked via Hilton app and AAA .I am a hilton points junkie ;-) 2 queen beds. 3 adults. Stayed on Thanksgiving day thru Sunday. Our travel plan materialized last minute to go visit the absolutely gorgeous great smokies. My 1st try was to get a room in Pigeon Forge and or Gatlinburg via the Hilton app or Expedia. But as expected everything was sold out. Got a room at this property.
It was a very nice stay.
Pros: The hotel is located in a very busy well lit area amongst other hotel chains. Perkins and Mac Donalds are right across the highway. Staff was very good. Hotel rooms were quiet. Breakfast buffet was nice and sufficient. Lol. Was super busy due to Thanksgiving and black Friday.
Cons: Pool wasnt working. Whirlpool needs to be checked for chlorine levels. my eyes were burning . Fridge wasnt that cold. Most importantly TV IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH SCREEN MIRRORING OR USING AN HDMI.so if you are planning to see your pics or videos after coming home . That's not happening!..
Attractions : A half hour 45 mts drive from Sieverville, Pigeon Forge , Gatlinburg and Dollywood . Keep some extra time as driving from Siviereville through Gatlinburgh is very busy in evenings so you will hit traffic and has a whole lot of traffic lights .Lots and lots of endless attractions for all age groups. Very cute shops. Many many many photo...
