We checked in readied for bed and tried to turn the tv on. No luck.
We called the front desk. The woman told us we needed to walk down to the front desk. She would then give us a working remote control.
We got dressed, walked to the front desk. The woman gave us another remote control.
We walked back to our room, tried the remote control. It didn’t work either.
We called the front desk, told her it still didn’t work. She said it did work because the red button flashed. We assured her the remote did not work.
The woman told us to come to the front desk, she would give us another remote control.
We forgot to take the second remote back to her. She wouldn’t give us a new remote control.
We walked back to our room picked up the remote control. Walked back to the front desk The woman gave us a working remote controller.
My husband asked her if they were going to reduce our bill. She said no way, not for batteries in the remote control. Dead batteries weren’t the issue. It was the inconvenience of walking up and down flights of stairs. The sarcasm from the front desk. Upon checkout, I asked if a manager could call us. The young man said he would ask the manager to call return my call.
They didn’t...
This stay was WONDERFUL. What made this so?? SEAN!!! What a Great Employee you have!!! I am a Choice Hotel member and I needed to stay in the area, so I began checking the reviews for the motel/hotels in the area. This location is Highly Rated so I made the decision to make a reservation on the company website. I experienced a LOT of issues making my reservation.... (MY error!) and it was Sean at the front desk to saved my day!!
I had called to request a ground room as my hubby & I struggle with stairs and he was able to fix my errors and get us both a reservation when I needed it & ground room!
When we arrived I was happy to meet Sean and he was as warm and helpful as he was on the phone! Sean provided me with guidance to supplies I needed and I enjoyed the welcome cookies he baked for the arriving guests. My room was Clean, it smelled nice, the HVAC worked well and the bed was SO Comfortable!! This location is better then most Quality Inns (which I believe are the lowest tier of Choice Hotels) and I will not hesitate to return. {There are other locations we will Not return to) Our stay was so nice, I've already made another reservation for later in the month when we will be back...
I had a king bed, access room, non smoking.
The stay was good! Check in at 3pm, check out at 11am. The room was kept up, and clean. Check in was very easy, and the staff was very friendly! Maid service was prompt, they cleaned the bathroom, and made the bed while I was out. Everything worked great, like it should. I came because of its proximity to Gatlinburg (45-50 minutes), and Pigeon Forge (35-40 minutes), times dependent on traffic of course. The bed was pretty comfortable too! This hotel has a continental breakfast, which wasn't bad at all. Coffee was good! Meal consisted of; biscuits, sausage, gravy, eggs, various pastries, and juice's. They stop breakfast at 9am. The wifi: The hotel was basically full, however the wifi was still fast! The only detractors with this place, and just nitpicking here, the bedspread had a couple of mystery stains on it, the toilet seat probably needed replaced (not dirty), and the shower head needed to be cleaned. I would consider the previous minor, in my opinion! I would have no reservations about staying here again!
Pro's: Clean, Location, Friendly, continental breakfast!
Cons: The bedspread needed...
