I stayed here twice within a four month time span. (June and August). The first visit went well. I requested the top floor and that was accommodated. The breakfast was okay but being vegan in the Midwest is always a joke. (I learned the second time around to buy my non dairy stuff beforehand nbd). The first visit I noticed the aging in the hallways and rooms. Stained carpet. Musty hallway. Appliances in the room was dated. Room didn't seem clean (dust and cobwebs in the corners , stained bathroom mirror and floor, cracked shower, dusty ac unit, etc). But I put up with those things because my mindset is, I'm hardly in the room and at least there's no bugs. Second visit was worse. I was placed on the first floor after booking my room a month + in advance. Im a light sleeper and sure enough, I hardly slept. A mustang left at 4 am both mornings but made sure to leave their loud engine idling for at least a half hour before leaving. The room above me sounded like gorillas were wrestling. The bathroom this time looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Legit spider nests in each corner. Stained floors. The shower looked gross. Mold on the curtain broken shower knob. Stained shower floor. The microwave and blow-dryer looked like they hadn't been updated since 2000 and looked more like fire hazards. The carpet had crumbs speckled across the whole room. The icing on the cake were the hotel towels (someone hair, not mine, woven through the folded towel, the towels were stiff and didn't smell clean) and the two cockroaches I seen on both days. Once in the bathroom where it disappeared before I could kill it, and the second time around the microwave. Disgusting. Suddenly the food I had in the fridge felt contaminated. I spent almost $300 on a room that felt dirty, broken and now with roaches. I will never stay here again. Which is too bad because despite all this the staff is actually really nice. My advice to the hotel: tent your building. Just fumigate it. Slowly upgrade the rooms and charge a premium price. Brand new appliances. Refurbished bathrooms. And hire actual cleaning staff, not teenagers that are there for the summer who don't know proper...
Read moreCustomer Service at the front desk was very good. I really enjoyed Sy. He was welcoming, polite, helpful and friendly. Cameras visible made me feel safe. Good location - close to interstate and casino. Offered free breakfast; just enough to get you started for the day (although they put too much water in the mix, the eggs were watery. That's not how they should be). The reason for not a higher score, rooms are a little dated. The bedding is nice but bathrooms are dated, the taste are not smart tv so bring you firesticks. Fridge and microwaves are in the room and a eating table/desk in our room (2 seater). There are vending machines and an ice machine on the 1st floor. This location only has 2 floors. There is an elevator to get to 2nd floor. Breakfast had eggs, sausage, yogart, mini muffins, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, various breads, apples, coffee, orange juice and cranberry juice. Free wifi. There is a casino less than a 2 min drive - Golden Nugget - open til 4am. It's new so very nice. You are right at the Indiana and Illinois border - 77 miles from Indianapolis airport. Takes me 1 hr 15 min to get here. Good price. Nice people...
Read moreNo Quality here. Worst room ever 129. Air conditioning unit noise, very small tv tethered to wall can't move it closer, two mini refrigerators in room that I unplugged - noisy. The bathroom door hits the toilet when you open the door and the shower curtain hangs down on top of the toilet seat. The bathroom is just too small. The coffee maker is in the bathroom. The a/c wall unit under the window is pulled out away from the wall, I'm guessing that is where all the flying gnats are getting in. Stains on sheets and carpet. ARG I should have driven the extra miles and stayed in Lafayette IND. I should have known, because the desk attendant was standing outside the front door smoking when I first pulled into the parking lot. The outside back door room key security box thingy was there but the door latch was busted and open 24/7. I pushed the desk chair up under the doorknob because the room door deadbolt didn't work and the security latch thingy was hanging loose. I would have felt more secure sleeping in my car. Lastly, the people upstairs must have been having a jumping rope contest. At least Motel 6 leaves the lights on to scare the...
