Western Plaza Inn — Hotel in De Queen

I lost my driver's license on the way here however I had a military ID with a photo on it they did not accept it so cash only, only reason I can think of is they didn't have to report it as income on their taxes . I had to go to an ATM and get $60 cash$5 above room rate then once I got the key they asked if I had a dog I said yes I have a service dog she wanted key back I said NO, she said provide all your documentation proving its a service dog,I got him out of vehicle all 20lbs, he had his tag on his neck vest was in seat, she said that's not good enough I want my room key back. I refuse to give it back it was 3:00 a.m. I have been traveling a long time. Could I provide a documentation which is not required by law if I could have thought straight at 3 a.m.. I told her she was violating a federal law by requesting me to prove beyond his legal tag and fact he was doing nothing but acting appropriately and calmimly, that he was a service dog, and at present time which was 3:00 a.m. after 9 hours on the road couldn't find the documents I was tired, this was after I had paid, therefore she put me in a smoking room which I'm allergic to and I'm not a smoker, Once she learned of dog which she did not even ask about until already paid and at which point I pulled him out of the vehicle and showed her his legal service dog tag. Then she wanted her key back. I left window with key , did not give her a key back, slept my 3 hours so I could get back on the road I will never stay here again; if my military ID with a photo is not good enough neither is my driver's license good enough and if I have a service dog and have to put up with smoke snot up my nose all night because I got put in a smoking room because of dog ,specifically said non-smoking :::very non-military and service dog non-friendly. Doesn't know service dog laws nor did care once I quoted...

We stayed in E2, a very clean, cozy, and super nice studio suite with a Jacuzzi, and the largest bathroom I have ever had. Ok, let me be fair, the bathroom was larger than some of my rooms at Hilton and Marriott Properties! Also features a walk-in shower if your not in the mood for a soak- but also the hot water and pressure was sweet! Most Inn’s that include large tubs purposely turn down the heat and pressure. Not here- wow!

But the best of the stay was the King Size Bed. The Mattresses were amazing, and I slept the best and most comfortable of any of my stays in 2022.

Secondly, the temp in DeQueen hit 104° during my stay, and our AC Unit kept the room nicely crisp.

Location, Location, and Location!!! You’ve got any restaurant near-by from walkable fast food to family fare. There’s a Walmart within a very short drive.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and my wife loved the huge bathroom. I got in late, and usually get a crazy look and “huff” for being so late, but even though it’s family ran and operated, they were most kind!

Amenities: Everything you get in a big name(but more): Refrigerator, Microwave, tons of storage, iron and board, hair dryer, soft big towels, TONS of storage space if you are working here!

The area is super safe, well lit, next to a 24hr Convenient Store for all your needs last minute.

I couldn’t recommend this Inn...

The hotel was easy to find. The guy at the front desk didn't seem to speak engligh very well. The room was dusty and you could tell it wasn't vaccuumed in quite a while. When laying down I had dust coming from the pillows. I had stayed in the king suite with had a spa tub in it. There were buttons missing for the spa! I was able to hear absolutly everything that was happening outside of my room. Including people talking and drinking. I didn't sleep well at night, the bed was kind of hard and not comfortable. When i checked out the guy didn't say more than two words to me. Not even thanking me for stayin there. I arrived home from my trip and seen that I was charged two different prices to my credit card. One for over a $100 and one for a little bit less. When i contacted the hotel the guy said that there was only one charge and that they wouldn't charge twice. Didn't give me any answer and hung up on me. I will never stay here again nor will i recommend...
