I’ve been living at a couples hotel since August and I left Spirit Lake Casino to be here because they have a kitchenette and a gym but the disappointment isn’t the staff everyone’s friendly and will accommodate you as fast as I can It’s the constant complain that nothing in their gym works. I spoke to several people about it and one kind of went back-and-forth with me about how she gets on the treadmill every Monday and it works fine for her but if you put the speed pass 2.4 you start to jerk on the machine it’s honestly a hazard because if I fall forward then a lawsuit is on their hands. The elliptical handle keeps moving out of place even though I’m noticing they’re trying to tighten it keep the machine in their bike might make a noise, but it doesn’t work Either, I’ve also noticed that weights have been removed from the area or at least it looks like it so I’m not sure if people are taking the weight back to their rooms but it sounded nice that they have a gym because that’s what Spirit Lake ‘resort’ Casino lacks. But again nothing works. Other than that, my stay is great. I genuinely clean my own room and not really look for housekeeping as much. They don’t come on their normal days requested but I think because there’s been a switch of ownership there’s just a lot of in between things happening. Neither you are there I’m OK with taking care of what I can. I don’t know who else to go to cause No one solved the problem, which should be to get new equipment
Update 3/05/2025
I have been staying at this hotel since October for work and initially had a great experience. The staff has been friendly, and the accommodations met my needs, especially having a kitchenette for my long-term stay. However, when I extended my work contract and requested to continue my stay in the same room, I was informed that my room had been sporadically booked for future guests and that I would need to move to another room that’s the same room just bigger (handicap). I’m confused as to why they cannot move things around to do so. I was told by front desk Christi in some many words that it’s too much work to do. And in exact words that it would be easier if YOU moved instead.
It’s also brought to my attention Autumn is no longer with the company and a new person Justine is currently in training in place of her. I never came with many issues being here but any that I may have had something like this NEVER has happened. Autumn was very understanding and accommodating so this is an extreme 360 to how this new management is choosing to handle the matter. I reached out to Justine management to see if they could accommodate me in my current room, given that I’ve been a loyal, long-term guest. Instead of making any effort to work with me, I received a private call voice mail left with no call back number informing me that they reviewed my request and would not accommodate it. I was simply told I had to move my belongings by Saturday, or I was free to leave. There was no offer to assist with the transition or acknowledgment of the inconvenience this caused me.
For short-term stays, this hotel may be fine, but if you’re a long-term guest, be aware that your stay is not guaranteed—even if you extend your reservation. Management prioritizes new bookings over existing, loyal guests, and you may find yourself being forced to move, regardless of how long...
Read moreThis review is a little longer than usual but please read this thru thank you. First off, I’m writing this review base on me and my family's experience. I book 3 rooms here at this location “devils lake” ND for the weekend. Customer service was extremely poor, we couldn’t even get extra towels when ask, also my wife and sister-in-law got into a dispute with “supposedly” the owner or management of this hotel over the breakfast buffet due to the lack of food being prepared mind you, we have kids with us and they were looking forward to the menu of what would be available that morning which was promise as advertise when booking this hotel. mind you we were not late for breakfast we were there at 8:20 which ends at 9:00 AM it seemed like they didn’t want to waste food so they cooked the bare minimum and it ran out while we were waiting in line. We were told that they were behind on staff rudely, and it would be out shortly also with an hash brown item not being prepared because it would take to long to prepare which I didn’t see how they were short on staff when I seen plenty of staff around just staring at us not to say if that was actually true or false but she could have been more polite when communicating with us, but this is the kicker of the event. during the heated dispute between the owner/manager according to her, and my sister-in-law… yes dispute! The lady sat there and argue with us for at least 5 min with customers there staring at us. Toward the end of the argument she said if we don’t like it we can check out or she would call the cops which we were going to anyways. Sure enough the cops were there 5 minutes later and listen to this, I don’t know if it’s because we were Asian American or another ethnic group but they sent the African American officer to come talk to us like we were ignorant folks, now I’m confused I am not from North Dokota we are from California just having a family vacation but while staying here me and my family had this vibe all weekend we’re they kept staring at us like we were Criminals or thieves and it was very uncomfortable. Now with all said and done there were some employees there that was very nice, rooms were decent, plus location was good But I will not recommend this location to anybody due to the lack of customer service. Thank...
