I didn't know anything about this hotel or it's chain when I drove up in their lot. I visually scoped it out from parking lot to lobby and all looked good. I stayed here for 4 nights and all 4 of them were good. From the time I checked in on 6/22/17 until I checked out on 6/26/17 this hotel was clean and well kept including my room, the lobby, the food bar & area, the dining area, and the parking lot. My bed & pillows were extremely comfortable. The room air was comfortable. Everyone I spoke with at the front desk was kind, informative, and professional. The woman who managed the breakfast had the kind of personality that was unforgettable. She never met a stranger and waited on everyone tirelessly. She liked her job and it showed. The breakfast was excellent all 4 mornings as well as the coffee. The excellent quality of this hotel service was obviously a product of excellent management and good people who earned their money. This hotel is most conveniently located in town right across the highway from Walmart with many restaurants nearby. This location is also great for fishing this awesome lake. This hotel caused me to sign up and be a member of CHOICE PRIVILEGES. I will reserve this hotel when I come back to Devils Lake. For anyone doing a fishing trip, this whole destination is easy. Everything is close. It is less than 5 minutes from this rural type airport to hotel and the lake is everywhere. Although my guide cleaned all my fish, the hotel has a fish...
Read moreThe staff had no clue what they were doing. There was no coffee in the machine for three days straight, when asked to fix the machine the girl said she did not know how to fix it. I asked for the manager and the girl stated they were not available. Our room ran out of toilet paper, there was no back up. Had to use kleenex. I would not recommend this hotel at all, will never be back.
*when asking the staff about a boil order they said "I don't know what your talking about." multuple times. She was very rude and stated I could not talk to the manager.
The coffee machine was not turned off once the boil order was initiated in the city. The following morning a lot of people were drinking decaf coffee since there was a joke about the watered down caffinated coffee. My husbsnd even drank a cup. Since nothing was in place the assumption was the hotel did not run off city water. There were no signs up until 24 hours after the boil order was put in place by the city. When I saw the delay and signs all over the facility I left a day early. I asked staff about the boil order, they did not know what I was talking about, asked for the manager refused to have me speak with them, later that evening I called multiple times with no answer from the front desk. I checked out early due to poor service and the lack of intervention and notification the hotel was affected by the boil order. I still had to psy for the ladt night despite checking out early. This is a...
Read moreI 100% urge you to try this place. We walked in; the beautiful lobby was the first thing that caught my eye. Check in was speedy fast, front desk staff are very nice. Once I got to my room, I was immediately impressed with the size. Large room, very tall ceilings. I have a touch of claustrophobia; this was such a nice sight to see. The beds were very fashionable and the decor modern, including a nice size flat screen. The rest of the hotel is just as gorgeous. The pool is just the perfect size, not too shallow, not too deep, and a nice size Jacuzzi for the adults to utilize while the kids swam. The beds that night were very comfortable and plushy. My husband made note that he wanted to call the front desk and ask them where he could buy a pillow as it was one of the more comfortable ones he had slept on. The next morning, we had to check out the breakfast area. The breakfast room was bright & welcoming; the flat screen in the dining room/lobby area was turned on with the morning news. A very friendly worker was on site to answer any questions/help. And that breakfast...It was almost too many options! Waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, juice machines, bagels, donuts, toast, yogurt, and more. We had to check out early but we WILL be back! This is 100% our new hotel. *Side note - we paid a lot of money to board our dogs only to find out, this already amazing hotel has dog kennels on site next to the fish cleaning station! Never again will I have to leave...
