I spent one night here in June, and I really liked this little hotel. It's one of those older places that needs a little TLC (see cabinet photo), but it was clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating work my last minute, in the parking lot, online reservation. In-Room Ammenities: microfridge, microwave, table with a lamp & two chairs, and, surprisingly, a full-size coffee pot. Ice has to be requested from the office due to a prior incident with the ice machine. There was a shower, no tub, but they had a nice big showerhead installed (see photo). There were adequate outlets for my electronics and CPAP. The AC wasn't as cold as I'd have liked, but it did work. The bath towels were surprisingly soft and higher quality than I'd expect from an older establishment. Other thoughts: The building is one-story, so no stairs to have to climb, and guests are able to park in front of their own room. All in all, I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to stay again if ever back in that area.

If all you're looking for is a good night sleep I can recommend this place however, it is Tiny and rustic. They are in the process of renovation. There was no soap in the room and one of the lights was not working correctly, you couldn't close the door on the bathroom without hitting the bed. There was a refrigerator and a microwave but it's hidden away in a tiny little area that doesn't have any light so use a flashlight. This is not a good choice for anyone who is physically challenged. There was no ice machine. Actually they were no amenities. Javier told me he would text me a receipt but after several reminders he never did.

DISGUSTING!!!! It was so nasty, the room smelled so bad of mold and mildew. The girl at the front desk was nice, but that's where the nice ended. No face towels, half roll of toilet tissue with a broken holder. No water pressure, floors were filthy. Honestly I don't mind a cheap room but this was beyond nasty. The floors were so sunken in places, it felt like you would fall through. Total fire hazard....everything shorted out when the air conditioner went on. And don't go across the street to the tri state wood in because they the same people. The door was so flimsy, I used a stop stick so nobody could get in.

We went to check in and the office was closed with a phone number. We called the numbers and left messages. It was a freezing cold windy day and had to wait. A car pulled up and tried to call too. They thought the motel across the street might have been part of this motel since the name changed. They went across to check it out. They came back and had a man on the phone. We were told our rooms were NOT at this motel but the one across the street. Keys in the room, door unlocked. We got to the room and the cleaning gal was still there and no keys. We had to call since the gal did not speak English. We got the man on the phone and was told she will bring keys. While we waited, we turned up the heat. She brought the keys and we found the heat was not working. Again, we called the number. She also went to tell him. He told her the air conditioner was also a heater (window). We did not see anything for heat, only air. Again we had to call. The man said she will bring a space heater. She brought one. We tried to turn it on. It did not work. Again, another call to the man. He said she will bring another one by. We made her wait while to confirmed that this one worked. We left it on all night. The room was clean. We had to unplug the air conditioner unit to plug in the refrigerator. We left and had to leave the space heater on. When we got back, the room was warm. We left the heater on all night. We agreed we were thankful we checked in early since there were all these issues. The room was double the price that weekend since the university was having a family weekend. It definitely was not worth the doubled price. We also did not shower since the heat wasn't really in the bathroom. We were only staying 1 night and heading home early the next day. We only ever saw the gal and left the keys in a key slot by the office...

I gave this place a fair shake because of 3.7 review. I showed up at 9 pm and only one room left, they said. I had to squeeze my vehicle up next to a long term camper and school bus that looked to be permanent residents of the parking stall. I got into my room only to find the heat came from a wall base electric heater that was turned off. The room was about 45 degrees and I had to sleep, with my clothes and coat on, until about 3:00 in the morning before the room warmed up enough that the blankets would suffice. The bed was still wrapped in a plastic cover that made loud noise anytime i turned. My only guess as to why this plastic was on the mattress, was for insect prevention? Not a restful night in any respect. They did have decent cable tv, which was one good thing I guess. After taking a shower in the ice cold bath room it took me 10 minutes to get the shower to shut off. The control was screwed up, but with patience, I finally got the water to stop. I was charged 20 dollars more and was not thrilled by that. I stopped in the office the next morning to get an itemized bill to turn in for an expense report. Office closed and no answer on any of the phone numbers listed. OK, I'll stop on my way back thru in the afternoon, I thought to myself. I did. Caught the night clerk who was cleaning the room and asked for a detailed bill. I was told my credit card receipt was the only thing they would give me. Most companies want to see a breakdown. She would in no way help me with providing a bill. If this were a base ball game I would have been struck out two times. Not a fan. But the...

I've been living in this area & stayed here often over the last 18yrs. I remember when this hotel was owned by Russ & Jody, Rochelle, & 1 other person before being taken over & renamed Wood Inn. Room conditions years ago were clean & more than reasonable priced, but in need of an upgrade. When I got my sister a room for 3 days it had been the 1st time I've seen what has become of the place with current owners. The woman who checked us in (sorry I don't remember your name) was very nice & accommodating even though she was visibly exhausted with a sick little boy. We got a room with 2 beds & got to say I was very pleased about the updates. There are extensive upgrades; rooms are a bit on the small size but the way the space was utilized it felt bigger. The bathroom was very small, way smaller than typical. The shower wasn't much bigger than a closet, yet the design was genius. It wasn't cramped & the built in sitting bench made getting all 4 kids & 1 adult showered much easier than if it were a full bathtub. I do & will recommend the Wood Inn & I will be sending the people who work with us (Platte River Displays Inc)on our fireworks display shows. Check in Mar. 8th check out Mar. 11th. Even though check in wasn't til 2pm she allowed us into the room at 1pm. Thank you! Jo Anna Lynn Hering & Becky Sexton family.

On a side note the way you take payments is a bit outdated & I know your fees & rates are on the high end. If you want to see how a Clover system can make taking payments much easier & at 1/2 the rates you are paying give me a call & I can set an appointment to...
