The Rural Thimble Quilt Retreat — Hotel in Dover

My group has just canceled our reservation for Nov due to the change in hours of check in and out. We have been coming to Rural Thimble since it started, and have enjoyed it greatly.

Unfortunately the policies changing to check in at 4pm, and out at 10am and required to stay an extra night due to “Industry standards”. We have found that a hotel allows check in at 3pm to 4pm and check out at 11am to 12pm, with no cleaning responsibilities. To pack and load 10 people up and out by 10am is really rough with the front parking limited and busy street traffic, stripping beds, cleaning dishes and taking trash out. No time for breakfast. Honestly, when going to a hotel the room is mostly used for sleep and Rural Thimble is a gathering location that we used as a place to spent the day together. Much different than a hotel room.

We will miss our stays there with friends and sewing , accomplishing so much on projects...
