The number of issues with this hotel were so numerous that is hard to remember them all. It started with putting a request on my reservation to please not use any air freshener or other strongly scented products. I walked into the room that we were assigned and the stench of a strongly scented floral air freshener was overpowering. I went down to ask for another room. The next one wasn’t as freshly sprayed so it wasn’t as strong. I went to open a window and realized that there wasn’t a window that opened. I called down to see if there was a room that had a window that opened and was advised that all rooms are sealed. Then I thought that I would try the HVAC system to get some air moving, but the HVAC system spewed air that smelled strongly of mildew. Upkeep of the room was substandard. In the bathroom, the toilet had an old wooden seat that was stained and with the painted worn off on many places. The vanity had lots of peeling pain. The drain assembly on the sink was partially missing. The bedside lampshade was stained and torn. And carpets in the hallways and in the room were prominently stained. Housekeeping was not great. In our three night stay, the housekeeping staff visited once. However, they neglected to clean the toilet. The ceiling light fixture had a large collection of dead bugs in it. The elevator had the same greasy dirt on the floor the entire time we were there. On the plus side, the breakfast service was nice enough and the food was presented well and the area was kept clean there. After my first night there, I found the customer service section on the corporate website and I left as detailed a comment as could fit into the 750 character limit. It said that I would be receiving a response in 72 hours. It’s been about 4 weeks and I have yet to receive a response. Upon checking out, the front desk person wanted to know how was our stay. I briefly told her it wasn’t good. She wanted to know more, but when she found out I had written into the corporate website, she said that their hotel would receive copy and I would receive a response. If I had spent less that $100 a night for the room, I would be more forgiving. But when spending over $700 for three nights, I expect a higher standard. Do yourself a favor and stay...
Read moreOur experience with the Sleep Inn in Dripping Springs was INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING and all around HORRIBLE. We booked four rooms at the Sleep Inn to accommodate three people per room (though the rooms accommodate 4 per room) purely to allow the 12 members of my wedding party to change between ceremonies that day. The total amount of time we expected to be in the room was about an hour at most. When my family arrived at the hotel to change on the day of my wedding, the manager/owner (“Owner”), refused to allow my family to check in for a significant amount of time, demanding a rooming list before they checked in. My family offered to identify the names of the people who were going to be in each room so that the Owner could put it on the registration card, but he refused to accept this and insisted that they produce a rooming list. I do not know how this Owner expected my family to produce a rooming list at the last minute at the time of check in on my wedding day, but he was insistent and his tone was very rude and insulting. As a result of this delay, my parents, sister, and a few other of the most important people in my life missed an important ceremony. What saddened me the most, was the fact that my family, who have a pretty tough skin, felt that the behavior they experienced from the Owner was a reaction to our cultural background. I felt horrible that my family had such an experience, especially on such an important day. The treatment received from the Owner was also incredibly embarrassing for my family. On top of all of this, when I called Choice Hotels corporate to notify them of our experience after the wedding was over, I was treated with the same disregard. We have traveled quite a bit domestically and internationally for business and leisure and we have never experienced such treatment before. If I could give this business a negative rating, I...
Read moreI was not happy with the price we paid to reserve a room at this hotel. That feeling was gone on the morning we left. The rooms were beautiful, the A/C units were nice (controlled by digital thermostats on the wall). The bathroom was fine. The hotel itself was simple but nice. The staff was nice. Oh and the location (view) was amazing! The complimentary breakfast was amazing! I hope it's this way for everyone year-round, but there was an assortment of fresh fruit both mornings (Sunday and Monday) along with your typical eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, waffles and such, etc. But the fresh fruit was nice. Not just bananas, apples, and oranges; I'm talking berries, mangos, sliced peaches. Even though the price was on the high side for my budget, I would definitely stay there again! It was worth it. Oh and the internet/wifi was great!! Which was important because I had homework to do and needed the internet. There was already an Ethernet cable set up on the desk so I just plugged it in to my computer. I also had to use my tablet and the wifi connection was strong. We stayed on the second floor. One word of advice, if you're driving West on 290, the hotel is on the left just as you reach the top of a hill. It's hard to see unless you know it's there. We passed it and then had to make a U-turn. 290 is crazy but luckily there wasn't a lot of traffic at that time. After that were always looking out for it. The entrance road is a bit difficult to catch the first few...
