I want to start off by saying I absolutely love the food at Flores. I worked as a waiter at the old Lakeway location in late 2000s and still rave about the food and top shelf margaritas. My review is regarding the experience we had with my family.
Yesterday was my 40th birthday. Every time we go visit my family, we drive by the Lakeway location on our way to Dripping Springs. I’ve been telling my girlfriend numerous times how much I like Flores and wanted to treat her to it. For my birthday, since we were celebrating with family, I suggested we go to the Dripping Springs location because it’s right around the corner from their home.
We got introduced to our waiter which I can’t remember if he told us his name or not. It was hard to hear him. We put our drink orders in which was 5 waters and an unsweetened ice tea. He came back with 4 waters, ice tea, and a lemonade. I informed him of his error, and he looked at us like we were wrong. We brushed it off, my brother just took the lemonade and gave me his water. Shortly after we got our drinks, all mixture of margaritas. The waiter had an extra beer he offered for free due to a mix up. My father took it, even though we didn’t really drink it because it was a coors light.
When we put our order in, we informed the waiter we were celebrating my birthday. He asked if we’d like an order of sopaipilla at the end of the meal. We’ll back to this later.
We put our food order and which came out rather quickly. Typically we understand when everything is delivered, you come back 2 mins later to check on everything. Our waiter never came back. When he did finally come back, I’ve already exhausted all my tortillas for my supreme chicken fajitas. I requested more tortillas while I was fixing my last one. The waiter again disappeared while also forgetting a request for more water. Finally came back with double the tortillas requested.
When he dropped off the tortillas, my father asked for the check. The waiter again forgot us. My father went to the restroom and in the time he finished, the waiter finally came to our table with the check. Instead of just dropping it off, he announced to the WHOLE TABLE what our total was. Then he proceeded to look at us waiting to see who was gonna pay. My mother just awkwardly said she’d take care of it and he handed the bill to her. As she was taking care of the bill, it disappeared off the device. Turned out my father took care of the bill by talking to the manager.
After all that, we never got my Sopapillas that was offered as a birthday treat. Overall most disappointing service I’ve ever experienced at Flores. Was suppose to be a an excellent dinner with my family for my birthday which turned out to have the worst service ever.

Read moreWe went last week after waiting almost a year to try the place again to see if it had improved. First off, the hostess had terrible social skills. She barely spoke to us, did not crack a smile once, and when I got out of her way behind a table for her to move a highchair she never said excuse me, thank you, or anything. Next, the food is barely average. The margaritas are not good - not real lime, a gross mix - I know because I work at a place that we sit and squeeze limes all day to make them the right way. We waited way too long to be waited on, we ended up having to flag someone down. I guess there system is for the wait staff to share tables because we got 2 separate people waiting on us and as a result they did not know what was going on with our food or drinks after we ordered, we had to remind them that we didn't have our stuff yet. Also, we ordered an appetizer that we never got even though we reminded them, and then it was on our ticket so we had to ask them to remove it. It's not fair for the staff to have this type of system because we didn't tip as well as usual due to one of the staff not providing good service. To top it off, no one was going to bring our ticket for us to pay, we waited and waited and finally had to flag them down to get it. We could have walked out and no one would have ever known. I'm so surprised this place is busy, but we finally figured out that the majority of the customers have children and want to go to a place with a full bar where their kids have a place to play. The problem with that is you get seated outside by kids going nuts and the majority of the parents are not supervising them and a lot of them are sitting inside while their small children are outside getting ran over by bigger children! We couldn't relax because we were stressed out trying to make sure children would get hurt or run off!...

My party went to Flores this evening to celebrate my baby shower and my husband was assaulted by another patron who was either overserved by Flores’ staff or simply looking for a fight. 4-5 Flores staff walked by and did nothing to intervene as my husband was yelled at and physically accosted in the middle of the restaurant by a man and his son for explaining to them that he did not work for Flores and could not bring them the food they were demanding. The physical and verbal altercation shook up our entire party, and despite explaining the situation to Flores staff and management nothing was done to remove patrons threatening physical harm from the establishment. Other patrons witnessed the event and shared their concerns with Flores management, however the managers did not seem to care. When we expressed our concern and disappointment that they refused to take action against patrons who physically and verbally threatened to start a fight in their establishment, Flores staff and management did not care about our concerns.
I’m disappointed in how the Flores team handled the entire situation and chose to continue serving patrons who threatened physical harm to my husband. I’m disappointed that Flores chose to condone violence in their restaurant. I’m even more disappointed that Flores did not take the situation more seriously when physical harm was threatened and validated by other patrons’...
