I have never (by anyone in the hospitality buisness) been treated as rudley as I was by the girl working the counter. When I came in, my friend and I waited by the counter for 4-5 min before one of the men sitting at the computer desk in the lobby went and got the receptionist, which wasn't really a big deal but when she got there the attitude was incredibly rude. At first I tried to ignore it because I deal with angry customers in the daytime and I figured she must've had a tough day but... First she was mad because we were checking in so late (10 pm) but the reason I got the room was because of a weird overtime schedule and then I asked a couple of question about their photocopying the ID and credit card because my security code and number are on the same side and she basically treated me like I was being crazy when all I wanted was to know how long they kept the copy.
Finally, she threw my key cards at me and laughed to her buddies at the computer desk while I picked them up off the floor. I said 'Well screw you, too' and then she said 'Do you want to have a room? Because I could have you out of here if you don't quit the attitude'. I said 'Fine, I don't want to stay here anyway, I've never been treated so rudely ever. If you going to threaten to have me removed then this is obviously a place I don't want to be'.
I went out to my car and called expedia but the refund had to be approved from the lady at the desk and she wouldn't approve it. I couldn't afford another place so I had to suck it up and go back in. When I went back it she said 'Oh, so you do want to stay here don't you?' in a really snide way and then made me call expedia "To make sure she could verify the card" even though she had already verified it the first time. So I had to wait for a half hour while I called expedia so that expedia could call her front desk (WHILE ON THE LINE WITH ME ACROSS THE DESK) to read out my card number so she could look at the photocopy she already took even though I offered to show her the card again. She did it to make me wait on purpose because she was mad at me and I didn't get to my room until 11:00 PM.... I had to work at 2 AM the next day. The whole process took over an hour.
Specifically about the room: The rooms themselves aren't awful, just not great. A bit run down, (hairdryer was sticky?)I actually like the little window bench they have in all the rooms. Tv was in an odd location because they bolted it down in...
Read moreStayed here for a business trip (5+ days). I initially chose this place because of the ratings. I was unfortunately disappointed. I didn’t expect much during covid, but even then, the amenities and room was subpar. E.g., the electricity in our room kept shutting off, at least 6 times during our stay. We had to restart it on our end inside the room. Because of covid, we didn’t expect much for breakfast but there wasn’t even fresh brewed coffee or snacks; only a small plastic bag of cereal without milk. The lobby area was still being renovated, e.g., walls still needing to be placed and painted. Because we booked our room for about a week, we needed to use the laundry. It only takes card which was completely okay. But when we swiped our card it charged us $8 to wash our clothes. When asked, the first receptionist didn’t know what was going on because it was recently installed. I was okay and said I’ll come back for an update - it wasn’t a big deal then. Those things happen. However when I asked a different receptionist the next day, he told me that that’s normal, and that it would return the balance that wasn’t used. But if that’s the case, what happens when another guest uses the washer right after? How would the machine identify who’s who? I checked my card and there’s still no return. While it’s only a few dollars, it’s a broken system that isn’t very user friendly and completely odd that it would take $8. The dryer, that uses the exact same card reader, doesn’t do that. I’m grateful that the gym had a treadmill, but we decided to stay in this location because photos showed dumbbell weights. During covid, I expect limited amenities, but there are also guidelines businesses are expected to abide by if they decide to open. This place did the bare minimum if not less and that’s extremely disappointing. If you decide to open, as an owner, please do your best to provide a better user experience given your limitations. Fix your electricity and your washing machines please. Bare minimum. If you can’t, please communicate this and let your guests know ahead of time. It’s extremely inconvenient. The one good thing were the employees. They were kind during my stay. I feel like the hotel in general was completely breaking apart and their employees were either new or trying to figure things out as it breaks. Which made things a bit awkward at times. Hopefully the management team can support...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed here Mon-Fri. in one of the suites everything was fine at first, staff wasn’t very friendly upon arrival but the room was clean and everything was good inside so I didn’t mind. My real issue was when I called the front desk on Thursday night to see if I could do a late check out on Friday because my flight was leaving at 3:30pm. So I called and asked the lady at the front desk if I could do late check out on Friday, she proceeded to ask me until what time so I told her until 2:30pm. She told me yes but that there would be an additional charge which I said was fine with and she proceeded to charge me. The next day on Friday I get a call from the front desk asking what time I was checking out. I told her that I had called the previous night already and had been charged to stay until 2:30. She told me that wasn’t possible because the latest checkout was 1pm. I was very upset because it was 12:30pm when I received the call form the front telling me I had to leave by 1pm, when I was told otherwise the night before. I’m not from town so it was a real inconvenience to be told last minute that I had to leave earlier because I wasn’t prepared for that I would’ve appreciated to be given the correct information about what time I had to leave by. I could’ve arranged something else. If I would’ve known since the night before I would’ve prepared myself to be out of the room earlier. I tried to speak to the manager but he was on the phone busy and the girl in the front was still giving me attitude when I went downstairs before leaving(she was giving me attitude over the phone as well), so I just left. I visit Eagan often and it was my first time staying here, and it’s definitely my last time staying...
