I found the hotel to be a little dirty. At first glance, the common areas were okay, but once you start to really look, there is definitely room for improvement. The carpet throughout the common areas of the hotel are dirty. The elevator was dirty as well. It probably wasn't the best decision to put carpet in such a high traffic area (elevator). The walls were also dirty and looked like they had been wiped with a dirty rag. The laundry area was sticky, dirty, and smelly. The washers/dryers should probably be cleaned more often. The microwave was also gross (3rd floor). I noticed that there was no paper towels or cleaning products available in that area either. If someone were to make a mess in the microwave, there are no tools available to clean it up. I would imagine that it would be nearly impossible to have someone constantly check those areas, so providing disinfecting wipes would be ideal. The beds were very stiff and uncomfortable. Lisa, the assistant front desk manager was not very accommodating. I noticed that the hotel was offering a cheaper rate (rack) than we had booked under the room block, for the same room type, over the same dates. I went to the front desk to see if we could get an adjustment ($10/nt) and was told that any changes would have needed to be made to my reservations 72 hours in advance. I wasn't trying to change my reservation. I simply wanted a fair price. After being denied and offered no empathy, I tried emailing the GM with replying to a message I received prior to arrival. Lisa responded "Thank You for reaching out. My apologies that you are disappointed in us upholding our cancellation/change policy. Please do enjoy your stay." So my concerns were basically ignored. I responded to her email, but got no response after that. I later learned that someone in my group (after telling them about the rate) went to the front desk, with the same exact concern and was given an adjustment, no questions asked. I've never personally experienced such blatant unfair treatment in my life. I worked in the hospitality industry for 8 years at one of the largest hotel chains in the world. I would have never treated a guest that way. I also let the staff know how I felt and filled out a survey. No one ever responded, so that just further goes to show how...
Read moreTook our team to this hotel. We used an event planner. There was a problem with our team meal with the date on the contract. WE NEVER RECEIVED A FINAL CONTRACT. Even though we emailed the hotel our itinerary they still served a meal with NOBODY IN THE HOTEL. We are a football team who purchased 43 rooms. It was obvious we did not arrive since we took up most of the rooms and there were only cars in the parking lot of the employees. The meal was served outside the lobby of the hotel so you had to be totally out of it not to realize there wasn’t anyone in the hotel yet. Our team arrived at 7PM and the meal was served at 4PM. Nobody ever called me to ask where we were for the meal. The hotel blamed the event planner for not communicating with us. The meal was supposed to be the NEXT DAY! Because nobody was there they charged us half the cost of the food and still charged us a gratuity for a buffet! The hotel employees admitted they received our itinerary and everyone knew when we were arriving. We even distributed sandwiches to the team as they got off the bus. Not one person mentioned the meal at that time either. I learned of this mistake the next day at breakfast. This shows you the lack of communication at this place.
I told the event planner over and over we didn’t need a meal on this date. Not only did they make the food but we were never told was there was food waiting because they said they went through the event planner only. We could have ate the food later if we knew and everyone would have been happy. Everything had to go through the event planner. The only time they didn’t go through the event planner was when they charged us $3551 without our authorization. No bill no receipt no nothing. In addition they charged us taxes which we are tax exempt for.
There was no communication with them until we told them we will be disputing the charge. We will never be back and I hope no team ever goes back to use them. It is a nice hotel but the organization is not good. This was a Wednesday we were the only show in town and they dropped the ball. There is absolutely nothing on this review that I said that was not true. The event planner and hotel made mistakes and we were...
Read moreIf i could give 0 stars for this place I would. The service of this place was absolutely horrendous. The downstairs area is nice but the rooms are extremely dated and falling apart. Wallpaper peeling, and furnishings are all heavily damaged. The beds are very firm like laying on a rock- the pillows are also a joke. Not comfortable at all and amenities are slim to none.
That is not the purpose of my disappointment in this place however - no. We were discriminated against at this establishment. My partner and I each have actual medically necessary and trained service dogs. My business partner has a seizure disorder and I am a diabetic. We were asked to leave the hotel because our service dogs were not "real service dogs" because according to the manager " she trains service dogs" and " real service dogs are not under 25 lbs" , which is an absolute crock. That is not true AT ALL. The Americans with Disabilities Act does not allow weight restrictions for service dogs. Service dogs are any breed or size of dog that's trained to perform a task related to a person's disability. They must be: Harnessed, leashed, or tethered to the handler ,Clean and well-behaved Trained to behave properly in public & Assistance animals are also exempt from pet restrictions and fees.
My service dog is a 9 pound chihuahua and was trained at a facility in Ohio that I got him from specifically for diabetic service dogs, and he can do the job any larger dog can. My business partner's service dog is a smaller mixed breed dog that was trained in Indiana to be a seizure alert animal and it's imperative that both of these animals are with us at all times.
This manager thinks that they know it all because they claim to train service dogs. I have never before been so disgusted by such behavior displayed by staff of any such place of business. That is 100% discrimination and I cannot endorse supporting a business that encourages that sort of behavior.
You have signs all around the building saying no animals allowed except service animals and there is NO WEIGHT LIMIT even listed.
You can 100% bet that we both will be reporting this...
