I stayed here using free points while visit Six Flags New England. I would never pay the asking price for this hotel, as it is not worth more than $50 a night!
It's very convenient to I-91, and you can see AND HEAR the highway from your hotel room. The place was hard to find. It used to be Clarion and now it is Rodeway, so they put a chinsy banner over the Clarion sign which is still lit. At night, I DID NOT see this place at all! I had to slow down and turn down the road using my GPS and there it was.. right next to the gas station. The parking lot was super full, but check in and the parking lot is well lit. There is a bar/restaurant attached to the hotel but all the way down. They serve complimentary breakfast in there. I will get to that. When we arrived around midnight, 2 cars of people and some other people outside were screaming and cursing at each other right next to the check in hotel entrance, which is also next to where the bar entrance is. I felt very unsafe in a parking lot at midnight with that going on, so I waited in my car for them to leave. Check in was a breeze, and the lobby is beautiful.
IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES TO ANY PETS, PLEASE SPEAK TO THE FRONT DESK BEFORE GOING TO YOUR ROOM!!! This is a pet friendly hotel, which I would never mind. My sister has severe skin allergies to pet dander, so she cannot sleep in a room that has had animals in it recently. When I asked the front desk clerk, he said ALL of the hotel rooms are booked with pets. Normally, hotels assign certain rooms. This was not the case. He did, however, graciously check for us to see if any pets were in our assigned room recently, and there were not.
The room itself is old, dingy, and outdated. The bathroom is so terribly small with very poor lighting. There is no shelf for your things in the shower, nor is there a way to shave your legs (ladies!). The exhaust fan is super loud and rattled the walls. Water pressure was so-so. The carpeting is very old and SUPER STAINED. I have no idea what it is... maybe beverages, maybe pets soiling, who knows. I just kept my socks on. The beds... the white sheets and white pillow cases had old stains in them, as if they were already washed and dried several times without addressing the stains. While I understand they are essentially CLEAN, it is still disgusting to have to see. One of the bedspreads had cigarette burn holes in it... and we stayed in a non-smoking room since I have tobacco allergies. Go figure.
There was a balcony with a sliding door... not much to see other than cars and a dumpster. LOTS of highway noise. No alarm clock. You do get a microwave, small mini fridge, TV, small desk, hair dryer, and coffee maker. The beds are very comfortable, despite looking gross.
Breakfast was delicious. Typical cereal, egg patties, brown and serve sausage, toast, english muffins, bagels, waffle maker, orange juice, and coffee. Nothing spectacular but enough to fill you up and hit the spot before you leave. The was a wonderful elderly woman who never missed a beat! She always had everything filled and catered to anybody that asked her questions. While I never needed anything from her, I still tipped her. For a busy Saturday morning, she only had $3 in tips in her jar. DON'T BE STINGY AND TIP THE HARD WORKING WOMAN!!!
Overall, it's worth a cheap or free night, maybe some Choice points... but I would never spend more than $50-60 a night on a place like this. I only recommend it for being a great place to stay for anything local or to go to Six Flags. It was 15 minutes up the highway and close to get it. Very convenient...
Read moreOk, where should I even begin? When my Wife and I checked the young Indian guy was very nice and polite. When we met the kind white lady the next morning she was a breath of fresh air. And I also had to talk with a young Spanish guy that worked over night and he was kind and a breath of fresh air. Now with all that being said it really saddens me that I have to warn everyone that goes to this hotel about the real danger in this place. This is what happened. When we got up the next morning after we arrived I made breakfast for my Wife and I and as always we offered the house keeper. She gave my Wife this look of disgust and said no. The next thing you know the owner of the hotel knock on the door and said to my Wife are you cooking in the room and she said yes then he said you can not cook in the room. And he walked away. So I went to go talk to him because there is a microwave in the room so how is it that we can't cook. So this man lied straight to my face and said I told her not to cook on the stove. I said you're lying that's not what happened. Then I said why do you think we are cooking on a stove he lied again and said because they saw smoke coming from the room. Again I said you're a liar, the house keeper told you we were cooking because we ask if she wanted something to eat. Now by this time the house keeper hadn't even come back to do the room. Then the owner said if you want your room clean you have to leave, we said not a problem. So we left the room and positioned certain things in the room a certain way so we would know if our stuff was touched and messed with . So we sat in the lobby and had bible study. Then Jesus told me to get up and go see what there doing and you better believe it the owner and the house keeper had gone through our stuff but because I got up before they could finish when Jesus told me to they were caught! So I ask who messed with our stuff and again the owner lied. Then he said I told him we didn't have a stove. Again I told him wow man you truly are a liar! Nobody said that what was said was that the food was cooked in the microwave. And if we were trying to hide the stove I wouldn't have left it where you can see it. This lady never cleaned the bathroom or the room. She made the bed and just like the other guests stated she threw bleach on the mold in the tub to make it seem like she cleaned. She didn't clean so much so the wash cloths were still hanging up in the shower that smelled like bleach. The tub was still dirty and her hair was in the cracks and crevice in the tub. Our sheets had burns in them. The roaches came out to say hi! And the mold was everywhere. I am going to report them to the health department because the smell tells you how bad the mold is and there electrical system is a real fire hazard because half of the outlets in the room didn't work! I never thought I would have to say whatever you do don't go to this hotel! Seriously!!!!!! The pictures are a lie! Find another hotel I'm telling you if not your going to regret it. And they want you to do a deposit of 50.00 on your card or 100.00 in cash. Which is crazy because that hotel should be shut down just because of how bad the mold is by itself. And the fact that if you ask for your room to be cleaned you have to leave so they can go threw your things. So if you thought you forgot something at the hotel because you couldn't find it, it's most likely because the owner with the assistance of the housekeeper and the maintenance man...
Read moreWorst experience I've ever had the first room at a soiled mattress food smooshed into the carpet and the furniture absolutely filthy, and in a unsanitary way, they moved me to a different room, this room was filthy as well and unsanitary the patio door was broken I could not open it so if there was an emergency and I needed to get out I wouldn't have been able to unless I broke the glass door say if there was a hallway fire and I couldn't get out the main door, it was filthy as well the glass door, I then went into the bathroom use the restroom and then the toilet went flush, there were brown smears which look to be human feces that appear to be in the bathtub that was smeared everywhere, and last but not least I saw a bed bug I stepped on it and smushed it and then saw another one when I was in the bathroom as well the book disappeared into the wall they had a small hole in the wall of the concrete, I was there to go to my daughter's college graduation from Vermont and with the issues of the unsanitariness I tried to find another motel or hotel everything was booked and what wasn't was out of my price range, this experience was horrific and made me miss my daughter's graduation because I had to drive back home to Vermont at 9:00 at night after a day of trying to figure out another place to stay which I couldn't find and then missed my daughter's graduation, I am now waiting for a refund which I was told I would get, the manager was not available he was attending a wedding that was being held at the facility, the front desk person J was very nice and I felt horrible that I had to keep coming down and complaining about more things, another thing I forgot to mention is after being disgusted by the bugs in the filth I used some of my sanitary spray in the bathtub used to cloth and cleaned it so I could shower noticing the water wasn't getting very warm I figured that it just needed to heat up a little bit but once I was in the shower the water never got hot so I had no hot water as well in my room, worst experience ever in my life at a motel hotel I would not recommend staying at this place!!!!! Now my daughter won't talk to me :( f U Rodeway. Took 2 weeks to get my refund, and it was easy...
