We loved this place. It's a huge, beautifully kept Victorian (exactly like the photo). We were in the Willow room which faces west on the top floor of the older part of the home. There are a few flights of stairs to this room, but it was worth it to us, giving a sense of seclusion. There is an ensuite shower and toilet, with a sink in the bedroom itself. The water pressure was good and there was plenty of hot water. There are two other rooms on this floor, each with its own private but separate bathroom. It was completely quiet the entire three days we were there.|Despite the warmer temps outside, the room was always comfortably cool (there is a mini-split A/C in the room). The queen size bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was quite spacious. |Breakfast was delicious mix of yogurt, granola, fresh fruit and various hot or cold pastries and muffins, along with hard boiled eggs, perfectly cooked. All served on some of the most beautiful plates you're likely to ever see.|The hosts are perhaps the best part of this place. Bernie and MariRose were made for B&B hosting, with their attention to details and their warm hospitality. As locals, they know the area inside out and were able to help with many recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with them and learning some local history.|Another great thing about the inn is its proximity to the oceanside national seashore beaches. You can walk to one of them (Coast Guard beach) via a quiet, paved hike&bike trail through the woods (saving the hassle of driving and the pricey parking fee at the park). The Lynches also provide beach towels, chairs and umbrellas. Perfect!!|The inn's location is another plus. A little beyond the midpoint of the cape, wild P-town was a quick half hour drive away (and well worth the trip), and other great oceanside beaches...
Read moreI spent 7 nights and 8 days at this lovely bed and breakfast while I was attending the Cape Cod Institute in Orleans. The location worked well as it was less than 2 miles from the training and there was a bike rental place within walking distance. One thing to know that route 6 is just a horrible road to get on and off, and the inn is literally on this road and the driveway goes in and out of this road. It can feel harrowing at first but I got used to it in time. I had the Oak room which was the top floor, which I chose on purpose as I wanted to walk the stairs. However, I may want a room with a bathroom rather than having to walk outside my room to my private bathroom in the hallway. Regarding the room, it had low ceilings and was a little sparse. It could use area rugs and a little sprucing as well as the bathroom. Yet the place is spotless, and the owners are relatively new so as others have written, most likely they’ll get to updates in time. I’d actually would love to see their daughter’s work on the walls and be available for purchase. The breakfast every morning was delicious with fresh fruit, yogurt, make your own waffles(with homemade batter), a daily scone, sometimes boiled eggs, and great coffee. Plenty of spaces around the inn to sit and relax to read or chat. For those who choose to stay at a bed and breakfast, we know it can be an extroverted and personalized experience. The inn keepers are warm, friendly and have lots of information to share. When I left early to circumvent the traffic, I was given a tiny box of scones as I expressed my love for them. I hope to stay there again...
Read moreInn at the oaks felt like a warm, welcoming second home. |Melody & Paul are very pleasant and welcoming hosts. We felt immediately comfortable as they provided all the amenities, dining suggestions and additional extras such as wine glasses to make us feel well accommodated. It was very evident how much care and attention has been put into the surroundings here. We found the extensive historical research they've completed on the property very intriguing and interesting. It's nice to see people caring about the history and sharing it with their guests. We absolutely adored the main common area with the wood-burning fireplace. During our 2 day stay, Paul started the fire for us each night. My husband and I enjoyed snuggling on the couch while drinking wine in a truly peaceful setting. We stayed in the Henry Beston room which was in the original section of the house, a spacious room with rustic beautiful windows that flooded the room with natural light. The bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to get out of it - but Paul's homemade blueberry scones and Melodys yogurt bowls at breakfast made it impossible to resist! We look forward to returning on our next trip to the Cape thanks again for this...
