Made reservation over the phone for a stay in Sept 2022. Staff was very friendly and accommodating . With the uptick in Camping after the Covid nightmare the staff was at times harried but handled it with aplomb.
We had stayed there many times before so it was a no brainer to go back there.
Pro Tip- leave early Sunday morning for travel . We did and had zero traffic with no Trailer truck traffic at all. Came from Western Mass.
We arrived at 10 am to the campground and the campers on our site hadn't left yet. We knew check in was 2 pm but wanted to beat traffic. The staff informed us that next time we come down to call when on Rte 6 to check status so then they can direct you to the National Seashore or similar to avoid hassles.
Check in was a breeze aided by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Sites are mostly pull thru and level so not much fuss. Very well laid out campground and sites numbered based on the road . That is Gull road will be G 1 ,G2 etc. Sites toward end are most spacious and best for privacy.
Driving in from rte 6 is an easy right turn getting out not so much. Even in Sept traffic was heavy. There are traffic lights on each side so taking a left out of driveway is very dicey . Staff said lots of accidents right near campground as people really fly on that road so hard to head towards Orleans with a camper in tow. Instead they recommend taking a right go to next light and take a left which brings you right back to 6 . Hope this makes sense .
Campground was quiet as a mouse at all times as mostly in Sept it was retirees that stayed there and always went to bed early. No screaming babies or yappy teenagers at all. What a relief .
Dogs however were somewhat of an issue . Some dogs just barked and one owner left their dog in the camper while they went away so it was barking at anything that moved. This is not the campgrounds fault but 100% on the owners .
Campground is right next to Arnold's which is one of the best restaurants on the Cape. You can walk or bike to it and highly recommended. Campground is right on the Cape Cod Rail trail . We utilized that trail daily with our EBikes . What a treat it was .
Restrooms were clean and had large fans blowing and music playing in the background . Showers were easy to use and clean with plenty of hot water.
The attendants were riding around in golf carts constantly cleaning sites and answering questions so that was very handy.
What else can I say except it's the best campground on the Cape for trailers and...
Read moreWe absolutely loved this park! The park itself is spotless inside and out. The employees are so friendly and helpful as well as the owners. The owners are 2nd generation so they know the park well. We could not believe how the laundry and bathrooms looked in the office! It was if you were in your own house. There is a small game room with free ping pong and 2 other games which were 50 cents to play. It also has a lounge area with a tv if you wanted to watch. Books and even DVDs. You name it and they have it for sale in the office, we couldn’t believe all the incidentals! The larger laundry and rest rooms were also clean as a whistle. These restrooms had showers in them which we didn’t use. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was the WiFi. It was almost nonexistent. We were told that it was great and could surf the web. Nope. When I went to the office to ask about it someone came to our site and said that they were having an issue with that line. We were in B3 and the trees need to be trimmed there. It has the best shade if that’s what you want which is what I asked for. Unfortunately when we closed our slides there was a branch caught in and made a small rip in the awning that covered the slide. Another reason which I know is not there fault but when it rains the site turns to mud. Honestly we loved it there and would definitely stay here again if in the area because it is so close to Provincetown and other sites to explore as well as our experiences with the wonderful employees. The park is on a very busy road so you must be careful pulling out and there isn’t a left hand turn because of this. All in all, what I gave as negative reviews are minor and if I could give a 4 1/2 star review I would. Thank you Atlantic Oaks for...
Read moreOne of our new favorite campgrounds. Book a year ahead if you can.
First, I am going to start off with why I didn't give this campground a perfect rating. The lack of pool and activities are the main reasons. I would probably rate this 4.5 stars if I could. It would be nice to have a pool to hit when taking a break from the beach. Some kids activities would be a nice addition. There is a playground and a very small game room, but that is about it.
The location is great. Just under 30 minutes away from Provincetown, but close to other shopping areas and both coasts. It is also located right on the bike path, which is a great activity to do with bike riding kids. A short walk/ride on the path is a nice little restaurant/ice cream/mini golf place.
The staff at the campground are very friendly and helpful. They have great info for local things to see and do. The campground is clean and well cared for. The sites are decent sized with good hookups. The provided cable TV probably has the most channels I have seen at a campground, but we never used it. The reason we never used it is because the wifi is so good. We used our Fire Sticks in our camper without any internet issues at all. I was very impressed with the wifi signal strength inside our camper.
One thing to be aware of is the road that the campground is on. It is the main route through the Cape and very busy. Getting out is scary, especially with a camper. You can't turn left when leaving, so good luck figuring that one out when towing.
I will be visiting this...
