Stayed here for several nights for a local event. Rooms are very large and our room was on the 3rd floor with an view of the water. Nice bedding, towels, and our room had new upholstered furniture. Hotel has a pool/hot tub and small business center. There is a boat dock and a pleasant area to relax near the water. Fire pit and kayak rental available to guests. There is no real lobby/sitting area but a fairly large breakfast room which is open in the morning. Room rate includes grab and go breakfast. The Lodge has been under new management for a while and they are SLOWLY making the much needed improvements which is nice. Just to freshen things and make a better first impression they should go ahead and replace breakfast room and hallway carpeting. Staff was friendly and helpful. Well lighted, safe parking area. Excellent location. My advice is too book early for weekend visits to the area.

New owners, same great lodge. The Lodge on Lake Oconee continues to be a fantastic place to stay, whether you’re traveling for work like I often am, or simply looking to enjoy a little lake life. You can’t beat the location—right on the water with peaceful views and easy access to everything the lake has to offer. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable, making it easy to settle in and relax. The staff is always friendly and helpful, adding a personal touch to the experience. And with reasonable rates, it offers great value compared to many other lakefront options in the area. All in all, The Lodge is a reliable and welcoming stay that keeps me coming back. Highly recommended.

We were in town for a wedding and are so glad we chose to stay at the lodge! I was able to work my remote job during the day with a beautiful view of the lake out our window (photo attached), before going out and enjoying the area in the evenings. There are many things to do at the hotel, and the pool has a wonderful view! While the rooms are more dated than a brand new hotel, they are extremely clean and good sized. The staff’s service was top notch. We felt so welcomed and it seems they are truly happy to make your experience a good one. Rebecca went above and beyond in ensuring we were satisfied with our stay!

I emailed the manager about our stay at the Lodge and never even got a response. My husband and I had booked a room for 2 nights to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, we realized that the wifi was not working in our room. Anxious to get out and explore the local area before sundown (we are from South FL), we stopped at the front desk and met a very nice young lady (I believe Savannah) and mentioned to her the problem we were having. She promised to look into it while we were out and have them possibly re-start the router. Upon returning, we had dinner at the restaurant next door (which was excellent I might add!) and then went back to our room. Still no wifi. Back downstairs to speak to Savannah. I brought my ipad downstairs and logged in, it was fine. Soon as I went back upstairs to room, it was lost. Back downstairs again. She explained that our room was in a business section and being it was the weekend, that was the likely reason it was not working. Didn't really make much sense to me, but ok. I'm not going to make a big deal out of no wi fi. So, in order to map out our day in the area, we sat downstairs in the lobby to print out our driving route. Back upstairs and getting ready for bed, I find a very dark bug shaped like an apple seed crawling across the pillow. Needless to say, I'm not pleased. I grabbed the bug in a tissue and went back downstairs to show Savannah. She then explains that yes, sometimes the rooms get them from the air-conditioner vents. She asked me if I wanted to move to another room. Ok, she just explained that you sometimes have this issue. It's 10:30 at night, we have driven almost 4 hours to get there and then we had gone off for another few hours exploring the area and we are tired. Was there any guarantees that we were not going to see a bug in another room? No. Savannah was nice enough to offer a small discount on our bill. I politely thanked her and went back to my room.

On the morning of checkout, I brought our bill to the front desk because I didn't see any sort of discount listed. The two ladies at the desk (Debra and Adrea) explained that only a manager could do that. I asked to speak to him and was told that he was not there yet. We wanted to leave early as we had a 4 hour drive back to family I have in GA. I left the counter and went over to the coffee bar in the hallway (very nice by the way!) Standing there making coffee for my husband and I, I hear both of them talking about me and saying "if she was so disappointed in the room, why didn't she move to another?" I popped my head around the corner and told them that what we chose to do was really none of their business. I went back to making my coffee and they had the audacity to start talking about me again saying "well, she could have checked out the following day and found another place to stay if she was so upset with the room". They made out like I was some vulture trying to make a buck on a hotel room for crying out loud. What an insult! I never even asked for a discount. It was offered by one of your employees and I expected it to be honored. My stay there was not the best I've ever had, but it was made one of the worst by the way I was treated that morning.

My husband and I loved the area and we thought it was a quaint little place to stay, but now we will look somewhere else when we visit the area. I hope these ladies will be re-trained on professional behavior while working in the...

My husband and I stayed at The Lodge 10/7/23. I wish I remembered the front desk staff member who checked us in. She was a dream. We were given room 308 and when we went to go into the room it reeked of cigarette smoke. We immediately went back down to the front desk and I explained I am a reformed smoker and cannot stand the smell of smoke and could not put my clothing and certainely could not sleep in a room that smells like an ashtray. The lovely front desk staff upgraded our room to 328 which was an executive sweet and we thanked her and we apologized for making more work but told her the 3rd floor smells very badly of cigarette smoke. The halls smelled but not our room thank goodness. Room was definitely dated, no ice machine or vending machine on the 3rd floor and water pressure is very poor. On 10/11 our account was deducted $500 for smoking. My husband and I spoke to Rebecca who was absolutely useless. I was told to speak to Shawn the GM and to call back after 10am because Shawn was busy with breakfast. I called back after 10am and was told Shawn would not assist me and I need to call after 3pm to speak to Kristy the Assistant GM. I called after 3pm ** Great customer service that I have to call several times and no one offered me a call back. I spoke to Kristy who was very pleasant and I told her that it made no sense that I would switch rooms complaining of smoke and then would proceed to smoke in another room. ANY ONE WITH AN IQ would realize how asinine that sounds. I also asked what proof did they have that I smoked in that room. I do not accept that the House Keeper smelled smoke so therefore I am fined $500. Sounds a little fishy since I am not the only one reporting such supicious activity. Sounds like a big Scam. Kristy did tell me she would refund me $250 and I refused. I am NOT paying $250 for something I did not do. BEWARE Ask about the smoking policy every guest must sign!!! RESPONSE TO OWNER Funny another guest also partook in smoking a cigar in the front of the building and he was not at all accused or charged $500. Sadly one of your employees on a recorded Line informed me that they did NOT work the day you claimed that employee was a witness. Sadly, you are taking advantage of guests and obviously do not care what kind of reputation you have and obviously looking for instant money to help your hotel with the much needed repairs on your dated accommodations. I see you mostly have negative reviews but NOT once have you admitted any wrong doing and I do not see you offer any postivie feedback or even a discount to encourage past guests to return to your establiishment. Do Know that I have made sure the bride, groom and wedding planner as well as staff at the venue to make sure they NEVER refer any guests to your hotel. If my self or my husband decided to be dumb emough to smoke in your hotel I would have no problem paying the charge. I was also offered $250 back the day I called about the intial charge and said I would NOT take $250 for something...

Please do not stay here!

I was originally very excited to stay at this hotel. The reviews looked great. I reserved my wedding block several months in advance. When making the block, I requested to keep us all as close as possible(at the very least, keep the wedding party on the same floor). Shemika said that it could be done. This did not happen. My wedding block was scattered among the 3 different floors (My disabled father was placed on the 3rd). My wedding party was separated on different floors. This caused chaos and difficulties come wedding day. When my husband and I came back from our wedding, we explained what was supposed to happen and what did happen. Also we were not sure if we had met the quote that Shemika had said where we were to get our room free for the night. We also asked if there was anyway we could be compensated for heckticness. The lady working that night was very nice and listened to what we were saying. She told us not to worry about paying tonight, she would see what she could do, and it would be handled at check out tomorrow. We get up to our room and there is a huge wasp. I had the worst experience of my life at check out the next morning. When we asked the same thing that night, we were met with extreme rudeness and disdain from Andrea at the front desk. This lady had me balling my eyes out at the counter. When I asked her to please stop with the way she was speaking to me, but she STILL continued with her extreme rudeness. I WAS NOT EVEN TALKED TO LIKE A HUMAN! I had to run away from the conversation because she would not stop. In the end, all I wanted was an apology (The room was payed in full) Andrea said she was sorry in the most sarcastic voice I had ever heard. I even verified with my wedding friends that it was to insure I was not hearing incorrectly. What a way to end the happiest weekend of my life. I was completely traumatized.

I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. If you have the option to stay ANYWHERE else, please do. This place is not worth the price. I wish I had taken my wedding party and family members elsewhere.

If the owner is ready this, please understand that I do not want anyone to be fired for this review. However, the staff should be retrained in customer service. I do understand that Andrea was trying to do her job but I have never been spoken to in such a way that I felt like...
