To avoid reading the novel I accidentally wrote about this experience, here is a summary: - first room had little bugs (ants?) In the bathtub - second room had a huge roach on the curtain, and unfortunate looking hair in the sheets - third room was covered in dog hair, trash on the floor and on lamp shade (?), and dog kibble under the couches and on the floor - fourth room has various crumbs and trash on the floor (I bit the bullet, and this is the room I'm staying in after moving up and down 3 floors for an hour) - front desk boys started gaining an attitude with me even though I was not raising my voice or even being frustrated at them about the situation - no manager on duty to voice my concerns to NOVEL INCOMING: As a service worker myself, I have never been the person to complain about anything service related EVER before, but this experience has been extremely disappointing so far. Checking into my room was smooth, I had no issues until I got up to my First (yes, first) room and went to the bathroom upon arriving. There were these tiny little bugs crawling in and around the bathtub (picture and video below). Naturally, I called the front desk to see if I could change rooms and I was very understanding that sometimes things happen. The boy at the front had me come back down to the lobby (mind you, I'm on the 3rd floor), to get my new room keys. He Briefly apologized and asked if I knew what kind of bugs they were, so I showed him the picture and video I took, and went on my way to my second room. My second room was a couple doors down from my first, and the bathroom was decent. I checked the bed for bugs as I always do, and did not see any bugs but there was quite a bit of....concerning hair....in the sheets. I told myself it was fine, and that I would just take all the blankets off and put my own on because I did not want to move rooms again. I start to settle in, so I open the window to let in some fresh light, and lo and behold, a big daddy roach was sitting at the top of the curtains (picture below). Im the type of person to have rather taken little ants in the tub over a roach anywhere near my bed, so of course I called the front desk again, and he offered to move me again. So I lug all my stuff back down 3 floors and get new keys, this time for the room right next door to the roach room. My third room was free of bugs (thank god), but it was very obvious it either had not been cleaned at all, or it was cleaned very haphazardly. There was kibble pieces on the floor and under the couch (which I am still confused about because this hotel doesn't allow pets?), and there was a paper plate on top of the lamp shade when I walked in. Dog hair littered all the couch fabrics and the bed sheets. Obvious stuff that should have been taken care of by housekeeping, was not. At this point, I was frustrated from driving 7 hours straight and I did NOT want to have to haul all my stuff back down just to get another dirty/buggy room. But alas, I called the front desk again, and this time it was a different boy. I explained my situation to this new person since the one I had been speaking to the past 3 times didn't answer, and this person immediately fought me with attitude. I told him that I didn't appreciate the attitude when I've been super understanding about the condition of the rooms and I am just trying to stay in a CLEAN room. I had asked for a manager to speak to (which I have never done in my whole entire life), to which he informed me that his manager was not there but would be in at 7 am the next day. I thought it was weird that there was no manager on duty as it was 5pm on a Thursday evening, but perhaps that it why the rooms aren't being held to a certain cleanliness standard? Long story short, this 4th room was also dirty with trash and various crumbs on the floor, but I decided to just count my losses and stay in this room. I would still like to speak to the manager, so I will be getting in touch with them again tomorrow to hopefully just bring the conditions of the rooms to their attention.

The rooms at this hotel are nice and new and it’s approximately a 20 minute drive from downtown Los Angeles. It’s very reasonably priced and you can save approximately 75% of what you would pay in downtown area. When I came to check in, there was only one man in front of me who did not have a reservation and it was turning into a headache. It took 20 mins for me to be checked in. The employees dress like street hoodlums in their street clothes and hoodies, and although there were 3 employees behind the counter only one was actually working and the others were playing on their phones. The worst part is this hotel is the clientele. A lot of riffraff. Looks like a lot of gang bangers and trouble makers. Illegal fireworks are being lit off in the parking lot. Out in the parking lot there were a lot of shady characters hanging around. And when I went up to my room, there were a whole bunch of people just sitting in the hallway hanging out and I had to walk around them to get to my door.
