I really enjoyed my stay here. My friends and I rode came to ride The Great Allegheny Passage. We started from here, did a day trip to Pittsburgh, then back to here and on to Cumberland MD, then back again in 6 days total. We stayed here a total of 3 nights between two separate stays. There were 3 of us. We stayed in the room to the left of the main entrance.
The beds were comfy, the wifi was useful and easy. The two window unit air conditioners did a great job cooling the room down during a hot indian summer (92 degrees the day we arrived). The owner was friendly and informative. It had coffee and coffee maker, oatmeal, granola bars, a microwave and a refrigerator with a couple of bottles of juice and water, two good size beds, a large couch and a love seat. It has a round dinner table and sides fold down. There's a tall wardrobe, plenty of empty drawers, plenty of of soap, tp, and towels. There is a large TV in the main room and a good size one in the bedroom.
For cyclists, she provides a mud mat at the door and a bin with paper towels and simple green to clean the bikes.
There's no tub, but there is a full feature modern shower stall. It's a little small, but the water gets hot and the head can be handheld.
The covered porch is a bonus. There is also a tarp available to keep the dew off your bike while it's parked on the porch. There is also a steel love seat and matching chair with comfy pads on the porch. Further out in the yard there are 4 Adirondack style chairs and a table if you wanted to spend time in the sun.
The interior decor is really cute with a focus on gardening and bikes. The exterior carries the gardening focus with vegetables and flowers. I think I saw a grill on the double decker porch on the front of the property, but didn't have an opportunity to use it.
Would be very glad to stay here again. I hope to come back and ride the GAP and the C&O Towpath to...
Read moreI could have easily given a 4 star rating to this place, but the owner is not very good at talking to people (she actually yelled at me, a number of times) We arrived this saturday (9-21-19). I had reserved a 2 bed room. upon arrival there were four room doors to choose from. The first room I tried, the door was locked. The second room was unlocked but only had one bed. The third room was unlocked and had two beds. The fourth door was locked.||||I assumed that the unlocked room with two beds was ours. so that is the room my wife and I used. As it turns out that was not the correct room and the owner was very , very upset with us for staying in the room. This was our first visit there and since only 2 rooms were open, we made the assumption that this was our room since it was the only unlocked room with 2 beds. There were no other guests that night. ||||The next morning Sarah was very rude to my wife, letting her know that we were in the wrong room and this room was MUCH, more expensive (15 dollars). I tried to explain the mistake and Sarah acted like we had done this on purpose and proceeded to LOUDLY (in Public) try to tell me why it was my fault. ||||We like the place but will not stay again. I hope Sarah is happy that we stayed|| 1 night in the wrong room by mistake but will never be back. ||||Sarah could just have acknowledged it was a mistake (I had apologized) and been on with it. Remember there were NO other guests...
Read moreA fortunate itinerary change. I wish we'd stayed two nights! Last week, my husband and I started our bike trip on the GAP from Little Boston Inn b/c there were no rooms available in the entirety of Pittsburgh. Soon, we'll come back to the Inn, hike the first day, next day ride to Pitt and back, then relax back at the Inn for another night, and continue on the GAP the next day. Joshua and Joanne were fabulous hosts. The two-room suite was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. And definitely, the best coffee on the trail (already shipped some to my house).
Thank you, Joshua and Joanne, for sharing your love of bikepacking and the trail. You started our first tour of the GAP on the...
