if the owners would spend some money on it, but they haven't, so it's not. It hasn't been updated in years. The furniture is from the 1960's as are the bedspreads and matching curtains, which don't totally close to block out light. The carpet appeared to be old, too. The bed is like sleeping on concrete. The sinks (two, which are nice to have) aren't even waist high. The hallway has a perfume smell as if it's covering up an odor. The room had a slight odor, but it wasn't noticeable after we had been in there 5-10 minutes. We didn't even try breakfast based on other reviews and the description provided by the desk clerk. The good is that both the night and morning clerks were nice and helpful. It was as clean considering the older furnishings. It had a microwave and refrigerator and wi-fi. It was quiet the night that we were there, but suspect that might not always be the case. It has a large lounge area and an outdoor patio that could be nice if updated. This was the least satisfactory of all the hotels we stayed on our 21-day road trip, and many were in this price range. I would stay here again if other options...
Read moreTried to pay cash for the room; the night clerk said he messed up the transaction so I gave them a credit card instead. Check my account a couple days later and there’s a charge for $250.00 added to my bill. Called to find out why, the daytime front desk clerk claims he found cigarette butts in the garbage can so we were smoking in the room. I explained that because we don’t litter my fiancé and taken them from his pants pocket and thrown them away. No one returned my call so I called back; the front desk clerk told the lady I spoke with that he saw ashes in the sink and smelled smoke in the room. That’s a blatant lie. We used their smoking area. I asked them to review their tapes and they would see us walking back and forth to their smoking area. I went so far as to describe their menagerie of outdoor cats etc Asked for the owners name; she wouldn’t give it to me. Travelers beware it appears to be a scam of some sort and the the one clerk is an outright liar! I’m disputing the charges with my credit card company and we will never stay...
Read moreWe reserved 2 rooms. I checked my bank account the next day and found that we were double charged for both rooms. I went to the front desk and told Howard ( I guess he is supposed to be the manager or something). He told me he could see what happened and he would fix it. Needless to say I am still fighting with him to get my money back. He told me to have my bank to fax him a copy of my account. They did but it still didn’t do any good. He says it might show on the fax but it doesn’t show up in his computer. He also went on to tell me that 24 hours after we checked out it’s a done deal. I am going to file a police report. Something else you should know that literally made me sick. Several of us saw them cleaning a room. They take a black light to check the beds. Nothing on them than why...
