The Elon Inn is an extremely money-hungry institution that is out to make a profit at any expense. I had the unfortunate experience of being towed while parked at the Elon Inn (even though there are dozens upon dozens of parking spaces that are unused every single day - especially during the day which is when I was parked there for 2.5 hours). I was not granted a warning or a parking ticket but instead received a $200 tow and then had to pay an additional $40 for the towing locations 'price per day' (even with my car in their lot for no more than 30 minutes). Not only did I have to go to get my car and pay a $240 tow but they informed me for 'illegal towing' the Inn only allows people to pay in cash.....not sure how many college-aged students have the luxury of carrying around just shy of $250 in cash on their person but really can't imagine that it is a high number. Also, not to mention the Inn is located on the Elon University campus, but they do not practice the same towing practices as the University. The Elon Inn - supposedly built with the purpose of bettering the Elon community and giving people the 'Elon Experience' - is instead of wasting their energy towing student vehicles from the parking lot. After this experience, there is no doubt I will not only never go to the Inn but will never recommend it to any Elon friends, family, or...
Read moreMy wife and I recently stayed at The Inn for 3 nights. While the service was very good, the experience was marred by unexpected billing practices and minor discomforts.
Upon booking, my wife was provided with a nightly rate that seemed reasonable. However, I was taken aback to find that the rate for the first night was more than double the initially quoted price ($647.42) This significant increase was not communicated to me beforehand, which led to an unpleasant surprise at checkout.
In an effort to address this issue, I reached out to the hotel management. Regrettably, my concerns were not taken as seriously as I had hoped. Despite multiple attempts, I was unable to directly connect with the manager, as my calls were redirected to the reception desk, leading to no resolution.
On a positive note, the service provided by the staff was good, which made the stay enjoyable in other aspects. However, I believe there's room for improvement in the comfort department, particularly the pillows, which did not meet my expectations for a restful night's sleep.
Transparency in pricing and comfort are crucial elements of a satisfactory hotel stay. I hope The Inn at Elon takes this feedback into account to enhance future guest experiences, ensuring clear communication regarding rates and investing in more...
Read moreWe came here to celebrate my friend 60 birthday at the Mark restaurant located inside Elon college. We did not stay at the hotel so we don't know anything about the rooms experience. Service and waitress was good. Everyone had Salmon and some kind of rice. I didn't like the rice and the sauce on the rice. My food was luke warm. That was the only thing that took from the great experience. I noticed no one ate the rice it was wet and gummy. I think none of us sent the food back because the birthday girl paid for the meal and didn't want to spoil the wonderful time for her. I know that was my reason. Definitely not what I expected at a nice restaurant. All the servers was very nice and accommodating. The food alone is why I gave a low score. Nice lobby.i hope this review is read by the person who operates the restaurant so they can speak with the cook. I know the rice couldn't possibly suppose to taste like that. I think the rice being left on the plate by all...
