HEALTH HAZARD!! FALSE ADVERTISING!! BE WARNED!! We had the misfortune of staying at the Best Western in Three Rivers, CA on 12/ 29/23 Just outside Sequoia National Park. There is a Comfort Inn a 1/2 mile down the road. STAY THERE. We checked in around 9:30 pm ( time is important because water on floor from cleaner should be dry by then) We were given room 19 . Noticed immediately that there was standing water around the toilet. Called front desk, they asked if we could wait for someone in 15 min. NO! A leaking toilet is not going to be fixed at 9:30at night! I don't want to wade thru motel toilet water!!! We requested a new room. We were given room 62 - a handicapped room as far away from the lobby as possible. Again, important to note. Immediately we noticed standing water sat the end of one of the beds. WTH! No ceiling leak, but a mystery. Being exhausted from the day, we decided to put an early old towel on it and avoid it. At least it wasn't toilet water! It did not appear to be mop water because the floor was still dirty, crud along walls especially in the bathroom. | Next problem - NO TOILET PAPER or KLEENEX AT ALL. Imagine being a physically handicapped person, using the toilet and finding out that there is no toilet paper in the room at all. Only thing in the closet was an old walker and two old pillows WITHOUT PILLOWCASES. No blankets, no extra sheets, no nothing!! There was only two old stained towels in the room ( sleeps four people) that were thrown up on the shelf. Yes, thrown up. No tidy effort at all. My daughter had to walk across a dark parking lot at 10pm to get ONE ROLL OF TP. They didn't even offer to stock the room or offer Kleenex. | So around 10:30pm we proceeded to open the beds. NO TOP SHEETS!! Gross! Only fitted sheets! Imagine trying to sleep against old blankets that possibly hundreds or thousands of people have slept against. This is the type of motel that probably doesn't wash the blankets, by the looks of the towels. (towels were old , worn, stained and HAD HAIR ON THEM!!!) This time I called the front desk and asked them to deliver top sheets to our room. About 10 minutes later, the mom and her son showed up. ( this is family business, mom and daughter wore the same religious garb and the son looked like the mom) I showed the mom the lack of sheets and the water on the floor. No apologies, no excuses. She did bring two extra nasty towels to make a total of 4 towels for a room that slept four. | After they left I pulled out the beds to check for bedbugs. This definitely the type of motel that would have bedbugs. Amazing! no bedbugs but GREEN MOLD ON FLOOR AT HEAD OF BOTH BEDS. HEALTH HAZARD!! it was quite obvious that the beds had never been pulled out for cleaning. I wish I had taken a picture but I was too tired. | But the "fun' didn't end there. The heater only had two settings - 85 degrees or off. Even though the temperature number appeared to change, IT DID NOT WORK. My husband had to open the sliding glass door at 2am to release the inferno. We turned the blast furnace back on at 7 am when we were trying to escape the hellhole. | But wait! There's more! We opened the room fridge only to find a brown liquid on the door and on the floor of the fridge. The fridges are never cleaned.| Again, there's more! The tv must use old antenna. No cable or satellite. Remember the old fuzzy lines and static? Old folks would remember this as classic antenna reception. this is an old motel - think 1970's Which brings up an important point, because this is such an old motel, there are NO USB PLUGS. You need to bring your own cubes to charge your devices. | FALSE ADVERTISING! This motel advertises CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. OH HELL NO! That was the first thing the daughter said when we tried to check in early. No breakfast, just oatmeal and some old, dehydrated oranges. No coffee in lobby, no place to sit down in the tiny lobby. Old fashioned drip coffee makers in room, but no creamers. Daughter did recommend a place down the road that served breakfast. Close to the Comfort Inn that you should stay at inside of this health hazard place that calls itself a Best Western. | This motel should be reported for health violations and for false advertising. Due to its age, it should be brought up to code and turned into housing for the homeless. Best use for it. ||AGAIN. DO NOT STAY HERE. STAY AWAY. THERE IS A COMFORT INN less than a mile...
Read moreTerrible. First off, staff checking us in was very rude. Pretty much treated you like you're a bother, no greeting, no information about accommodation etc.(you know, the stuff you normally get informed about when checking in). Lady just mumbled room number, tossed a key at you and that's it. Well "Hello" too you too!!! Anyway, everyone can have a bad day, even in hospitality business, right? Yeah... Anyhow; the place is near National Park, so cell reception is spotty. If you want to use internet, you need a Wi-fi...don't count on it in here. Since we got no info at check in, we had to call reception for Wi-Fi password.First off, I was not even sure if anyone answered the phone , because whoever picked it up didn't say a word...after figuring out there is in fact a person on the other side of the line (breathing into the phone...not creepy at all) we asked about the password, got short answer, tried it. It did not work. We call again, we got a very rude (and same as first time)answer, and then the person hung up...seriously, they hung up as if i was a telemarketer interrupting their favorite soap opera. Unbelievable. Turned out the wifi only works sometimes, and only outside the rooms+only if you're relatively close to, and facing the lobby/office. No big deal, we were there for leisure not on buisness , so it might have been a nuisance but not something we could not live without for one night. Last (but not least) issue was ant infestation in the room. There was black trail of ants leading from bathroom to the minibar area...so again, we called the front desk, and hold and behold ;nobody answered. We left the message saying what the issue was..we haven't heard back for over an hour, finally someone shows up and hands me...wait for it....Oxi Clean Stain Remover.🤦♀️🤷♀️
So in summary, it's not seedy just yet, but don't expect much more than a bed and four walls (and few dozen of tiny cohabitants).
In my opinion the owners might be more successful opening an Escape Room here rather than a lodge. Staff is just perfect for the job, and guests might at least get a kick out of it instead of...
Read moreI had a truly disappointing stay at the Western Holiday Lodge Three Rivers. After a long and exhausting journey from Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks with my special needs child, we checked in and discovered several issues that made our stay extremely uncomfortable.
Lack of Basic Amenities: Upon checking in, we found that there were no basic amenities like shampoo or soap in the bathroom. While I understand housekeeping might forget to restock these items, what followed was unacceptable.
Poor Customer Service:
I called the front desk to request these items, and the lady, Sebrina, asked me to come to the front desk to collect them myself. When I requested if someone could bring them to our room due to our situation, she bluntly stated that they were short-staffed and couldn't send anyone.
Water Issues:
To make matters worse, there was no water coming from the tap. When I called Sebrina again, she asked me to fiddle with the faucet and then abruptly disconnected the call. She ignored my subsequent calls, which I made 6-7 times, only to have her disconnect them immediately.
Unprofessional Behavior:
When I finally went to the front desk, Sebrina told me she had other customers to attend to and couldn't help me further. Her colleague, Aliza, then went to check the issue and confirmed that the bathtub was faulty. Aliza was logical and polite, unlike Sebrina.
Aliza mentioned that the previous guest might have caused the issues, but as a paying customer, I expected the hotel to take responsibility and provide a solution. Instead, I faced rude and cold responses from Sebrina, adding to the frustration of an already stressful situation.
I attempted to reach out to Mr. Jay Hossain, the contact provided on the visiting card, but the number listed was for housekeeping. Mr. Jay was also unavailable during our stay.
Overall, I would not recommend this lodge to anyone. The poor customer service, lack of basic amenities, and unprofessional behavior made for a...
