We are so sad about this whole process. We have been through it with these people. To start we met with mr tiny and he was great. After that it went down hill. We made our selections on the papers that ask for the things you want in your tiny home. We made several selections and were under the impression they would build it based on what we selected. They did not. We were charged for 76 inch windows, and got 67 inch windows… seemed odd. We also were charged for widows that open. But got windows that do it open. That doesn’t seem too difficult, but it’s not what we got. We also ordered an island, and they build more of a bar. The wheels were so close it made this unstable, and the large countertop over hang made it fall over more than once. No idea how this is safe. They did give us our money back for the island, but that is all. The location of the air conditioning unit was suppose to be over the kitchen and not in the loft. The way they cut the railing looks so dumb and we didn’t want that. Well they put it there anyway… to make it worse they blamed us! They sent a paper with squares and rectangles on it and we signed it. There were no measurements or other items on the drawing. It was basically just squares and rectangles. So disappointed. This isn’t the house we ordered but we are stuck with it and the communication between them and us has stopped. They no longer respond to us and have basically been dismissed. That isn’t even all of it. The frame is twisted and when they were delivering it a piece of metal came off the guys just threw it in the grass next to the road. They said a welder would come fix it but they have not. When we were communicating with them about the twisted porch and the frame the representative sent me an email where one of their workers admitted it was built wrong, and they still did nothing to correct it. It’s just so sad they charged us over 130 k for a house we didn’t order. There is still a window with the weather stripping coming off and they still don’t care. If I knew going in it was like this we would have never bought this house from them. If you are reading this consider something else before you give this company any money. We took delivery in October and it has been nothing but a hassle from them trying to get anything done. We couldn’t even close the front door for months because the porch twisted so bad. I have done the best I can to get it to where it is now. We realize they are not coming back and we are on our own. This is such a waste of money. It’s so sad they do this to people.
2 years later and still nothing has been done to correct any of the problems we had when we received it. This thing is a piece of crap and is falling apart already. Do yourself a favor, run as far away from these people as you can. It’s beyond anything I’ve ever seen in my life. Take the money and run is all you going to get from...
Read moreI visited Recreational Resort Cottages and Cabins a year or two ago and toured their models. The tiny home models were really cute and made excellent use of such a small space (about 400 SF). I apparently provided them with my email address as I receive emails, newsletters, sales offers, etc. from them periodically. One of the items that has been included in some of their newsletters is information about a tiny home community called Hidden Forest Lake in Campbell, TX. I googled Hidden Forest Lake, Campbell, TX and a website appeared and indicated that the location would be on Highway 50 in Campbell, TX. Highway 50 does not go through Campbell, TX. I decided to call and inquire where the community will be located as I have a couple of friends who might be interested in such a community. A gentleman answered my call and when I asked where the community will be located he told me that it would be in Campbell. When I pressed for more detail, he was very evasive and said that the community would be located along I-30 in Cumby, TX (which is a few miles east of Campbell). He finally said that they are not yet releasing the specific location.
Frankly, this is not a way to do business. When a company advertises a product or service, the company should be prepared to provide details around said product or service when asked for details by a potential customer. When a business avoids providing details around a product or service that they have advertised and directly marketed to me, I truly have to ponder what they are hiding and why are they hiding anything. Again, folks, no way to...
Read moreMy mother and I have been looking at tiny homes from RRC Rockwall for months and today, for Mother's Day, we decided to just take a drive and we just planned to look around and drive by just to see them in person. However, when we got there, there was a sign that said "Sign in for a key and map" or something to that effect. However, when my mother and I stepped up to the table to sign in, a young man came out and asked if we had an appointment. We said we didn't and he became quite rude to us. He continued on and on, and told us we would have to leave, but he made no mention of how we would go about making an appointment either online or making an appointment with him. We honestly wouldn't have had a problem if the young man had asked us if we wanted to make an appointment or perhaps told us how to do so online, but he was just rude and acted like he was happy to see us go. It was really disappointing to be so excited about seeing these houses we've looked at for months, even if it was only to be driving around, but we were shocked at how rudely we were greeted and spoken to. I understand that there are horrible things happening, and I completely understand their reasoning, but it really doesn't excuse poor customer service, especially when the signs were not clear about the need for an...
