Barky's Resort — Hotel in Fergus Falls

We were looking for a place to go & must have checked 50 or more resorts before we happened upon Barky's. It's absolutely fantastic! Incredible lake view to wake up to each morning! Has individual fire rings for each unit along with a BBQ. Our cabin was super clean and modern - included are a/c, TV (for those rainy days), & a patio with table and chairs. Comes complete with pots/pans, silverware, dishes, clean and comfortable beds and have I mentioned the incredible lake views? You have a nice little front yard right outside your sliding glass door and are just steps away from the lake. If you like running around and checking out other area sites you are close to just about everything! Ryan and his family are the best of hosts and we can't wait to go back next year. Wow another year gone already but boy did we have a great time at Barky's Resort! We stayed a week this time around and it was hard leaving. Perfect location for checking out area sights & Zorbaz is just down the street. Great beach area for kids (and adults) this part of Ottertail lake is one of the best - shallow & sandy for a long ways out (perfect for swimmers & paddle boards) yet deep enough for some great fishing when you get out a ways. We rented the jet ski this year & what a hoot that was👍.Ryan (owner) is friendly, helpful, & just a great guy all around. Cabins are exceptionally clean & modern & most are within spittin' distance of the beach & lake. If you're looking for a darn near perfect place on an almost perfect lake check 'em out! This little hidden gem is what most of us look for in a lakeside resort but few actually find! If you are lucky enough to get a lake front cabin - believe me they are really lake front! You walk out your sliding glass door walk down a few steps to a nice little sandy beach or, if you like, you can sit out on the patio and sip your morning coffee while watching the sun rise over the shimmering water - it's incredible! They also have boat rentals, water "toys" for kids, a swimming area, fire pits for each cabin, and the friendliest owners you'll ever find anywhere. How we ever secured a cabin I'll never know because most re-book for years but we did and we're not letting it go anytime soon!! Great place and our thanks to Ryan for his hospitality!
