First, they are misleading saying it's a lake. It is a pond. Nothing more. I would've given 3 stars but as you can see by the picture, this was on our 3rd site. 1st site has 4 ankle bitters yapping constantly. Moved to second site and it was so unlevel that I almost couldn't get my 5th wheel unhooked. The tires were of the ground on one side and the 5th when hitch barley cleared the bed of my truck. Yes I said that right. The king pin was almost touching the bed the angle was so steep to drive out from under. Called office first morning of our 2 day stay to have them remove yellow jackets (pictured). They came that morning and said they would be back later that night too spray while they were dormant. No one ever showed up. Finally, after a call and several texts later expressing how the yellow jackets were getting into our RV and one of us is highly allergic to stings. They finally showed up to tell me they wanted to spray in the morning. I insisted that they spray immediately and was told the spray wouldn't kill then for at least 2 hours. Again now the 3rd time I said spray them so I can cook dinner. The smoke from the grill would aggravate them like last night. Finally, he listened and sprayed and 10 later I was cooking... Not 2 hours later. Finally, a dog showed up on my lot without the owner and it was interfering with my registered service dogs. I followed this dog all the way home. It was the owners of the campground dog. She wasn't happy that I showed up ringing her door bell and complained about her dog being lose. If it was mine or anyone elses they would probably kick me out of park which owner agreed would happen. 1 hour later this same dog showed up again on my lot and I called again to the office to complain to the employees of the owner who couldn't do anything but text the owner. I said "squirrel" to my dogs and haven't seen that dog again. That was funny. My dogs never left my site. Other than those issues, it was a quiet park in the back and in the middle. Good service on propane and nice laundry. We used both. Your reply gave me the inspiration to lower my star rating of our visit to your campground as it is misleading and not accurate. You did take care of the bees but only after I had to complain about them for 2 days. We only stayed for 3 days. Quite slow to responding to the issue. I have several texts from your employees to prove that. The dog issue was exactly like I stated! How else would I have know it was the owners dog without following it and I will also add that I had to walk following the owners dog from almost one end of the campground around the pond to the owners house on the other side of the campground. You must have us confused with someone else as we didn't complain about anything else.

We had a 2 night stay at Rutledge Lake RV park and overall it was a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and the grounds were well kept. We were assigned a space in the overflow part (outside the front gate). I didn't think this was going to be an issue but later realized just how far it was from the amenities that were inside the gate. It wasn't a huge issue but the walk from our site to the bathroom/pool facilities was a good 300+ yards. So we never used them since they were too far but our rate was the same as those inside the gate and closer to the amenities. The overflow spots are near the lake but on the side of a 20' hill. Again, not a huge issue but it seems as though these spaces were put in due to some overcrowding in the rest of the park. Our site appeared to still be "under construction" with landscape work still in progress around the site. Also, these sites have no trees around so you have full sun all day long. Since we did not use the amenities I can't comment on them but we did walk the park several times and they do pack the RV's in really close to one another. There are some cabins and long term residence in the park so keep that in mind. The only other issue we had was there was very little green space in the park. Yes, there was grass around the lake and plenty of places to walk your dogs but all the sites were on gravel which made it difficult for the animals and a little difficult to set up chairs and tables. We never brought up our concerns with the staff as we were only there for 2 nights and I'm sure they would have done what they could to make us happy. Overall a pleasant experience and the only reason for 4 stars is the location of our spot.

We stayed at Rutledge Lake RV Park for a week at the end of July in 2024. We really enjoyed our stay here. Before we arrived, we were a little concerned that the site wouldn't be large enough, but it turned out to be fine for our 48 ft. RV since we were able to park our truck next to it (site 52 right by the bath house and pool). We even had room to drop the deck in the back. There is enough room to maneuver through the park, and there are great amenities such as a pool, rec room, small dog park in the back, a playground, reasonably priced laundry ($2 and $2), and even free paddle boats. Every time we attempted to go on a hike or paddle boat, we were soaked by a giant rain shower that wasn't on radar 5 minutes before, but hopefully you'll be luckier, lol. We needed to dry our soaked clothes, but were out of change and the office was closed. Unfortunately, they do not have a change machine, but when we texted the after-hours number they were happy to bring change to our site, even in the pouring rain - shout out to Adam! There were some issues though. First, any important information should be relayed at least a day in advance, preferably via email. The campground tried calling twice on the day of check-in when we are obviously busy driving there. Also, my wife used the bathhouse once when I was repairing something in our shower, and she said one of the curtains was too narrow and ideally should be lockable doors instead. Edit: The info we saw about a gun policy must have been out of date, as they say gun owners are welcome now! Bonus tip: go eat at Acropolis Pizza - AWESOME Greek and Italian food!

Warning: Don’t bother trying to do business with Rutledge Lake RV Park near Asheville, NC. The owner just laughed at my husband when he was trying to figure out if we could get a site (either weekly or monthly).

They kicked us out Memorial Day weekend, after we had been paying weekly for the previous 4-5 weeks), citing they were booked up that weekend, promising we could move back that Monday because they would have plenty of availability. (We we’re on their waiting list for a monthly campsite). We called Sunday to confirm, and were given the run around about how they’re now suddenly booked solid. Texted the owner (you have to text her, you can’t call her — great customer service right there) and she gave us the run around about a monthly site and kept saying she has one coming available but couldn’t tell us anything. Tried texting the next day to clarify and didn’t receive a response. Texted Friday and didn’t receive a response.

So my husband called her. She kept asking why we want to stay there when there are plenty of other campgrounds in the area. He explained its in close proximity to his job site (10 mins versus 30+) and we would be more than willing to pay weekly as long as we had to ($283/week versus $795/month in her monthly spots). She started talking about the people that lived behind us when we were there and how she kicked them out. He advised her that’s none of his business, he just wants to know if they have a lot for us to park at. She then started LAUGHING at him! Like, an uncontrollable laugh. I could not believe the level of unprofessionalism coming from her!

My husband tried asking where on the waiting list we were for a monthly site and she refused to tell him. From what we could finally understand, we were never placed on said waiting list even though we made it very clear at check-in we wanted a monthly spot. We also filled out the paperwork they required for a monthly spot. In addition, we asked every week when we went to pay our lot rent for an update on an ETA for a monthly spot. The answer was always the same, “I have to text the owner and will let you know. But I assure you she is working hard on it.” Which, turns out that was a bold faced lie.

Not to mention, nobody in the office ever knows what is going on. They always say they have to text the owner as well. We only ran into two people there that were extremely helpful.

Don’t bother with this place. I cant believe she treated a paying...

Be very careful when making reservations at this place. I made reservations on 8/13 for the holiday weekend (3 days) Their definition of a deposit is paying in full for your entire stay in advance. I thought that was a bit excessive but I paid it anyway. As luck would have it a family situation developed that was beyond my control that required my attention so I had to cancel my reservation. I cancelled it a full 8 days in advance. I had not received any type of a refund so I thought I would give them a call and I was told that their "policy" is that they do not give refunds for holiday weekends. Apparently that is the reason why they take full payment for your stay in advance because that is just more money they get to rip you off for. I could even understand if they said they would refund me %75 or something like that but what they have done is essentially sold the same RV spot twice because I guarantee that with 8 days notice and on a holiday weekend they re-rented that spot very quickly for the same amount they charged me. So they are taking advantage of peoples misfortune to rip them off and then turn around and rent the same spot out to someone else for the same time period. I have never stayed at this campground and you can bet I never will. I will also be reporting them to the BBB and to the Good Sam club (which I am a member) and will make sure all of my fellow camping friends are made aware of their tactic to rip people off. Alarm bells went off in my head when I saw they wanted me to pay for all three days in advance and I should have listened to my gut but I didn't and it looks like it will cost me $190. As you can see and read from other reviews their prices are quite expensive as well. There are plenty of very nice campgrounds in this area that are far less expensive and charge a "deposit" for a reservation and do not make you pay for your entire stay in advance, but as I stated, apparently they do that so they can just rip you off for more money if something happens and you have to cancel. I notice they have a LOT of 1 and 2 star reviews and a number of them are for these people ripping off their customers. Again, use extreme caution when making reservations at this place because if something happens that is out of your control and you have to cancel your reservation you can kiss that money goodby and it is nothing but pure profit for...
