Marcia's Mercer Lake Chateau — Hotel in Florence

We rented this place through Vacasa. Pictures were of a very cute little venue. In reality it turned out to be a dirty, overpriced safety hazard. The walk down to the rotting dock was a safety hazard. The house has wood rot everywhere. The bed linen and bath towels were dirty. We informed Vacasa that we would not stay there another night ( One of the two we reserved) We requested a refund for staying only one night because of the uncleanliness and safety hazards. The property was totally misrepresented. They said they would consider our request. We were informed that we would receive a refund.

The refund was an insult! A 2 night stay was a total of $771. They made a refund of $56.

Showed up with no expectations. Off to a rocky start as we lost cell service and drove WAY past on a narrow paved road. When we finally arrived and parked I was very pleased Rustic would describe the place with wood floors that are slightly uneven and weathered steps but that is part of the charm! Clean and well maintained inside with a great view of the lake and nestled in the trees. There is a dock, but it is somewhat of an adventure down a trail where ropes for guides would have helped. But sitting on the dock on the water makes up for it.
