This is one of those hidden gems .At first have a break down and ending up in a parking lot . This parking lot seemed to be run down building with non running cars and fork lifts. Very little lighting and just nothing on north or south ramps off i75. This is not the case . Because of small hill blocking you from seeing about a quarter mile . You are actually at the corner of 3 counties . And 3 cities. But this is between to larger cities . I would not have wanted to break down any other place. I’m going to review 7 different places and people in this area. The people at this motel saw I needed special help . And they treated me like a personal friend or family member helping me with . Free rides to stores to help me get my vehicle back on the road . This business is a very unique custome stay. I met people who chose to retire and live there. Some are raising families there. And some are people over nights . I also do camper spots and a huge pole barn type but modern covered patio. Also walking dog area with bags for cleaning after dogs . I’m sure they would rent this for a wedding or maybe a family gathering . Some of extended stay people work there part time . I was welcomed there as if they have known me for years . But I still had enough privacy if I needed it . But what I found is high falls state park . With more than 5 miles of very well maintained hiking trails with a lake and river and building remain of a very old power plant and burned grist mill. There is a couple of places to eat all walking distance , dollar general two gas stations / convients stores one open 24 hours. This place was clean partially updated . With others that care about you and the property cleanses. It’s like they are staying with you . And not owners . I really wish I had the words to explain there personal touch . But they remind you to be careful . They emeritus conversations . They check on you if you’re trying to accomplish goals or going to doctor . I actually checked out . Told them I loved them and they asked me to be careful driving back to Rome. I met every business owner on each side of motel . Very reasonable rates as long as you communicate they can be flexible on check in and check out . Free ice machines . Plenty of working vending machines . I for sure coming back even itvjustbivernight when headed to Florida . I...
Read moreVery unclean!!! You could see hand prints, footprints, scuff marks, and just plain dirty walls the minute you opened the door. It stunk of a mildew, old carpet smell. The bed was made with holes in the spread, when you peel back the cover there were see several stains of different colors on the sheets, the bottom sheet was a flat sheet too small for the bed that was just covering the plastic cover. The bathroom tiles could be picked up and toted around ( were not glued down), the towels and bathrub were all stained up. The refrigerator had so much dried coke in the door seals that you had to snatch the doors open everytime you went in them, the much microwave was filthy from inside to outside, there was red sticky candy like substance on the counters and the walls. The carpet was smelly and stained. There was a white stain on the bedroom curtains that appeared to be old "bodily fluid ". There were no handicap bars anywhere including the shower. The kitchenette consisted of a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. No one in the office answers the phone or for after midnight and we were told that by the clerk. They allowed a drunk man to sleep on the picnic tables under the pavilion all weekend, so you were too uncomfortable to use the grills provided. The tv in the bedroom didn't work. You could write your name on the tv and mantle in the dust in the living room. I had to go buy disinfectant wipes and clean the dust in the whole room, the refrigerator, which opens like a new one now, but has a rusty freezer shelf. I scrubbed the microwave but still didn't get all that off, really needed a brillo pad for that. Cleaned all the counters and had to clean the air conditioner filter and coils to get the room to cool. The only good thing I can say is it's clean on the outside to draw you in, and it's close to the high falls entrance. It would be a good time to go stay in room 206, probably the cleanest it'll ever be. Now they say it was locally owned and operated but was sold for health problems, so if you stayed there before, dont let that fool you. I'm sure I left some things out, but you get the jist. The sheets were dirty, they had a flat sheet that was too small for the mattress over the plastic protector instead of a fitted sheet, the air conditioner filter was so nasty that I had to take it off and clean it in the bathtub so the room would cool, not one picture on the wall except dirty handprints, and holes in the bathroom and closet door. The tiles on the bathroom floor could be picked up and toted around ( were not glued down). There were no handicap bars anywhere including the shower. There was a white " substance" on the curtain in the bedroom that appeared to be old bodily fluids. I had to go buy disinfectant wipes because the refrigerator doors had to be snatched open from old dried coke that had never been cleaned up, now opens brand new. You could write messages on the mantle and tv in the living room the dust was so thick. And the counters in the kitchen had dried old red sticky candy substance all over it and bbq sauce in one area. They say kitchenette but that is a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot. Also they advertise free Wi-Fi and the do not have it. After midnight no one in the office answers the phone or the door. And they have no extra pillows or blankets. I'm sure I'm leaving things out, but you get the jist!!! Now they say this used to be American owned locally and was much nicer, so if you stayed there before, dont be fooled, times have certainly changed!! The carpet was smelly and stained, I bought spray, and I cleaned the dust up too and also the microwave and the counters. It would be the best time Ever to stay in room 206 right now, probably the cleanest you'll ever get to see it. Oh they also allowed a drunk man to sleep on the picnic tables under pavilion where the grills were all weekend long. So you felt too uncomfortable to even go over there. Angela and Jason, ...
