The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding areas. They Make you feel right at home and that you feel as much a part of the community as if you have lived here all your life. I would recommend this place to anyone who visits the area. My wife and I have never felt so welcome as this inn has made us feel. We will be returning to this vacation destination very soon and we will stay hear again.

Was totally caught off guard with how impressed I was with this experience. The amenaties was a pleasant surprise including the reliable internet, cleanliness I've rarely seen before, and the big city professionalism in a small town. I'd rather stay here and drive to Presque Isle versus finding lodging in PI. Not to mention having minimal walking distance to all local establishments with a prime view of Canada.

Stayed here for a business trip. Room was clean and very comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM which is fine but could barely hear my tv due to how far away I was. The breakfast was ok nothing hot other than oatmeal or toasted bread and bagels, there was a few options for cereal coffee and juice was also available. Staff was very friendly.

I was on an overnight "Leaf-Peeking" trip to Northern Maine and was planning to spend the night in Fort Kent area. Northern Door was right on Route 1 directly across from the bridge to Canada. Reviews here looked good,, glad I checked them.||||I had a very pleasant clean, quiet room with clean bathroom, very comfortable bed, and nice table for laptop. Excellent WiFi also. Nice HDTV with local cable channels as well as usual news/entertainment channels, even 3 Canadian channels. (I Engllsh, 2 French)||||Plenty of hot water for bath and shower. Lot of storage space, microwave and iron. Easy walk to several stores, restaurants and local pub.||||Price quite reasonable, Very friendly office personnel and nice breakfast available with plenty of coffee, juice, cereals, fruits and pastries.||||If/when the US/Canada border fully re-opens this is the perfect spot to stay whether coming from or going to Canada. Literally, the border and Saint John River is right across the street.||||Highly...

This is my second year in a row, and fifth time staying a week at The Northern Door Inn. All style rooms are a great size and are very clean! Nice seating area in lobby to visit with friends/family. Includes daily complimentary dry breakfast (coffee, juice, fruit, cereal, bagels, etc.). The staff is very personable and accommodating. The snowmobile trail is directly across from the hotel, along with a gas station and several dining options. We stayed again in room #131 which is a King bed. Family stayed in #114 and #104 which have two queen beds and the sink is separate from the shower/toilet room. I think we will opt for that style room next time simply for more space! The Northern Door Inn is a simple and clean accommodation for your Northern Maine adventures...

The reason i gave such a high rating is that, for one, i did not expect very much. I traveled to Fort Kent on a business trip and this was one of two options. I stay at a lot of corporate chain hotels so i was a bit nervous. But when i walked into the lobby, i felt good. The lady behind the desk was super-friendly, which was reassuring because i'm certain i looked like i 'was not from around here'.

The place is all one-story, which i usually hate. I was in the back building. I walked into the room as was thoroughly pleased. Country. Cozy. Good wi-fi. Well-maintained. Great price, great value. Very convenient to the shops & restaurants (the restaurant in the front parking lot is awesome for breakfast).

Honestly, couldn't have asked for much more. And i bought...
