This is the place.
This is my favorite restaurant. While there are a number of good places to eat in Fort Kent... I'm not aware of any others where the menu is prepared by an honest-to-goodness chef. This is someone who understands food pairing and combining flavors and textures to make the dining experience exquisite.
I personally don't drink but I think they have a cocktail of the day everyday. It always looks like something fancy in a martini glass or a glass of wine or something along those lines.
Although the atmosphere is casual, you'll be comfortable in a snow suit, hoodie or coat and tie.
The owners work there every day. They take pride in what they do and what they serve to the public. The place is clean and it couldn't be better even if it had white linen tablecloths.
I absolutely love this place. I drive from another town to get to this restaurant every time I can. It's worth the drive....
Read moreThe food and service was phenomenal! We ordered the ahi tuna and foie gras appetizers. The foie gras was as smooth as butter, served in a pear and cherry sauce on toasted baguette slices. The best ever! The tuna was served with a fresh salsa and chips and was delicious. The Caesar side salad, was delicious and perfectly sized. As good as the appetizers were, the dinners were even better. The steak medallions were so tender you could cut with a butter knife and was delightful. The salmon was perfectly cooked and served with a tasty lemon butter sauce. All the dinners came with au gratin potatoes and perfectly cooked broccolini. Portion sizes were generous, so sadly we had no room for desserts, which looked amazing. We eat frequently in Portland, ME, a true foodie paradise, and 47 North could hold its own with any of the greatPortland restaurants.We...
Read moreI truly hate to sound like a "Karen" but booked in advance for sushi night, had been looking forward to it all week, even still we had to wait three hours for food. But I didn't get any food because I was told at the three hour mark there wasn't enough rice for my meal. So three hours, for no food. It was 9:30 when I was told this. We had to go up and ask for water refills, had to go and get our own utensils. At the end the chef came and offered us another option that wasn't sushi, but it was already 9:30 and considering our food took three hours, I was not about to wait again. Luckily we did get a refund so there's something.
I attached a photo of what the girls at my table were served after...
