LOOK ELSEWHERE. very welcoming polite staff (initially, aside from when we tried to get refunded and harrassed by maintenance), but that's where the praise ends. We booked days ahead planning a very long trip and needing a solid recharge- doing our research... Needed laundry, showers, privacy, and to enjoy the atrium connection to the rooms. We called early to request when the rooms was available beforehand and when arrived was NOT available. Offered an upgraded king suite with big bath tub as ours STILL wasn't available. Great right?? BATHROOM LIGHTS NOT WORKING. NOT CONNECTED TO ATRIUM AT ALL. switched to ANOTHER room with atrium access to find out there is renovation so no laundry on site now, no hot tub running in atrium, AND when I finally unpacked (2nd time) the shower fan was unplugged and shower/bath was spraying everything at 70% bath/ 30% shower combo. The maintenance guy came to fix it as I was making the best of it myself needing that after a few days drive and now 2-4 hours of wait/check-in/unpack/pack/relocate...
The best the manager was willing to offer was to refund us. Now the next option is to have paid full price for poor maintenance/management/ownership with half the use and/or deal with the janitor in our privacy as "fair value", or drive across the state to get the other next-best hotel that's still available as it's 4:30pm now day-of check-ins. The room smelled like chlorine and bleach and needed to be vented, WITHOUT a fan. Was told they had some ordered, but this is where I digress... Better get the owner to invest into his responsibility here more and knowing the employees conduct... I very much dislike coming off like a Karen but this is inadequate and falsely advertised at best, and I don't do free house calls to diagnose their property's repairs as a donation of my goodwill. I would rather not have simple expectations for basic functional amenities, or be paying for an experience that left me a day behind the routes, more stressed and managing others businesses than what justified my deciding to rest and recharge here. Decided to sleep here for the night and keep rolling onward instead of trying to get to Austin in logical timing to make use of the next-best hotel STILL available.
I appreciate the sentiments of the staff really, but based on the facts the result feels the same as "Roll the dice if you feel lucky- come on back when you wanna try again." Also had a verbal altercation with "frank" the maintenance guy after asking to accept that refund and show them the broken showers- escalated the situation by yelling and matching my upset from behind the front desk with Jessica refusing to refund us after all the mess-and unexpected conflict. This is NOT professional nor honest business. Demanded to speak with owners and they told me you'll be waiting too bad. Worst business I have honestly seen above ground. Don't bother...
Read moreThis review is LONG, but I hope you take the time to read this. I'm forced to give at least one star. Anyone who gave higher than a one or two has to have been paid to give a good review; there is no honesty in statements saying things were great in any fashion. My family and I were driving for hours, so at about 1am decided we needed to stop and started calling around for a room. I saw the 3.5 star review and was willing to accept that because we just needed a place to lay down and regroup. I should have read the reviews and heeded the warning like you should. DON'T DO IT! All the bad reviews are true and are actually modest. Things are worse in person. We ended up have two rooms in less than 30min. Our first room was so dirty that I called the front desk demanding a new one. The second room was ok (and I'm putting that lightly). I got ready to take a shower and noticed that the towels had yellow and brown residue. Just as I was going to yell out in frustration my husband screamed. I ran out of the bathroom and found my husband looking terrified and clutching our baby. When I asked what happened, he showed me this large spider/tic/beatle cross breed that was white to blend in with the sheets. He told me that the bug was coming after our son. It took us 3.7 seconds to pack, load the car, and demand a refund while showing the picture of the bug to the front desk for proof. They gave us a refund, but that situation is a whole other story! We ran across the street to the Marriott at 2am willing to pay anything for peace of mind while we slept. I learned a valuable lesson. READ THE REVIEWS NO MATTER HOW TIRED OR DESPERATE. Save yourself some time and energy and just take my word about this place. I'm...
Read moreWalking into Atrium Inn in Fort Stockton feels like an oasis after a long road trip — a place that quietly delivers comfort, convenience, and a chance to reset before moving on. The moment I stepped in, the elegant atrium welcomed me: greenery, open space, soft lighting. It immediately set a tone of calm.
The room was more than I expected. Spacious, clean, with a comfortable bed that made unwinding effortless. The air conditioning worked perfectly, the fixtures were functional and clean, and there was a sense that attention was paid to daily housekeeping. The layout provides privacy yet feels connected — the atrium design adds character that many hotels lack.
Amenities shine here. The indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna are real bonuses, especially after hours on the road. The fitness center is well-equipped, and simple touches like the free WiFi, coffee maker, and desk made it easy to relax or catch up on work. Breakfast, while uncomplicated, hit all the right notes: fresh enough, varied enough, friendly service.
What impressed me most was the staff: warm, helpful, always ready with suggestions or quick adjustments. Even minor things — ensuring the shower water stayed consistent, listening to noise concerns, etc. — were handled with courtesy. Yes, you’ll notice some wear in places — a few spots that could use refreshment — but none of it dramatically affected the stay.
In a town like Fort Stockton, Atrium Inn manages to feel both like a practical stopover and a welcoming retreat. Five stars for delivering great value, comfort, and a restorative stay. If you’re passing through or staying the night, this place is easy...
