While staying on base is convenient to be close to all the amenities, great walking trails, and having the fitness center and track within walking distance, this room has to be the worst we have ever stayed in. The walls are paper thin so you can hear every conversation your neighbor is having on the phone next door. We have a dog who obviously is going to bark when we're away and he hears others loudly talking. They called us to let us know the people next door were complaining about this. I'm not sure what people with dogs are supposed to do when the walls are this thin... I'm sure we will be receiving a call soon about a complaint that someone heard our baby cry as well. Housekeeping comes by to take the trash out but that's it. We've called several times to ask them to actually clean our room, like clean the bathroom and sweep the floors, but even though they keep saying it'll get taken care of, every morning when housekeeping comes while we're out walking or at breakfast, they refuse to clean. We had to go and get our own vacuum to clean the floors. If the Air Force covered our lodging elsewhere we would check out early and find somewhere else to stay. House hunting is stressful enough when you move somewhere new and especially being a military spouse that has had to leave my own job behind. Add in having a 7 month old baby and having to stay in a tiny space that is super crammed and doesn't get cleaned, with complaints that your dog barks when he hears other people yelling next door or outside. It's unfortunate that families aren't taken care of better with how much we already have to deal with selling our house, leaving our job, searching for a new job, and searching for a new home in an area that is competitive because so many people are looking for the same thing. I was hoping our temporary lodging would at least provide some stress relief...
Read moreI am in a standard (vq) room. The room is spacious with a large area for the kitchen, but there are no kitchen appliances. There's a counter, sink, and plenty of cabinet storage space, but it's all empty because the only appliances are a microwave and a mini fridge. It seems as if the room was designed from a generalized template that includes better rooms with a kitchenette. The furniture, fixtures, and fittings are mostly functional, but everything is obviously dated. The room includes a full-sized bed with one nightstand, a small desk with a desk chair, small TV on a stand, and an armchair with a small table. Everything appears clean, but some things are damaged or broken and in need of renovating/replacement. The bathroom is the worst offender with the shower platform (?) cracked and stained. My shower head leaks a pretty solid stream that sounds like a gutter channeling rain. I put in a maintenance request with the front desk yesterday (Sunday) and they said it would be taken care of today. It was not taken care of today. I'm sure they'll get to it eventually. All in all, the experience is pretty standard for military accommodations. The room is better than some that I've stayed in, but you can easily find superior commercial lodging for $70/night. It is certainly convenient to reside on base if you're working here, though. Traffic at all gates and throughout the entire area is awful at the start and...
Read moreKilled bugs upon arrival to my room. Bitten by multiple over night including a pretty nasty spider bite on my leg... no idea what it was but painful calf muscle for days... staff is super friendly. Phone service is 1 bar for Verizon and tmobile. Wifi is super doodoo. It is unsecured for one. Two I cant get any work done during peak hours. Some of the drier machines do not heat properly causing me to have to run it 3 times last night. The rooms are cold. You can set the temp but the AC kicks on every 10ish minutes blowing cold af air. I'm on the soundside btw so forget about parking half the time. I've been here for 2 weeks and event after event after event with DV parking in a hotel parking lot.... I mean did they pay to stay here? I didnt either but still residents should have priority parking. Which brings me back to the wifi... imagine trying to get work done on unsecured internet and 80 to 150 people come for an event. Free wifi screw the residents. The hooch is another story. 2 dollar taco night... never again. How can you charge more than like taco bell and be smaller and worse than it? Hoping for a non-A letter next time. Fitness center? Yeah down the hall on the right. We have a stair stepper a treadmill... oh wait that's...
