My exonly gives yoperience...we arrive to checkin and no one is at the front counter. I ring the bell..nothing. finely 15 minutes later the clerk comes from down the hall (this is important for later). She checks us in, very robotic like. I have to ask for the wifi password. We got to our room on the 2nd floor and there is a putrid smell in the hallway, I have no idea what the smell is. |We get into our room and we have no toilet paper. I call the front desk multiple times and there is no answer. I call housekeeping and the mailbox is full. |As we are unpacking from our travels I can hear EVERY word the people in the room next to us are saying....every word. There are no sound barriers whatsoever, no privacy. |We head downstairs to the front desk to get some toilet paper. Guess what...the clerk isn't there again. We decide to go to the casino and blow off some steam. As we walk down the hall to the casino we pass a gift shop. Well guess who was in the gift shop talking to her friend...it was the front desk clerk. So THAT is where she keeps disappearing. |The casino in 99% slots and 4 card tables. They only had 3 tables open and every time we went back to play they were all full. |We sat at the bar and had a drink. Drinks were $4.00 each. Not bad I guess. I'm used to free drinks when I gamble, but I dont play slots. |We head to the snack bar to grab a quick bite to eat since we have been traveling for 5 hours and haven't had dinner. I had an order of fries, my husband had a hot dog and fries. It took 10 minutes to get our food. The food was fine. Nothing bad, nothing good to say. We ended our night and went to bed. |The blankets are paper thin. We froze our butts off all night long. The hotel only gives you 2 pillows. I'm used to getting 4...2 for each person. It's been a rough night. Uncomfortable and cold and cant sleep.|I wish they didnt have a 48 hour cancellation notice. I am booked for two nights and I do not want to stay...
Read moreWhen we normally travel to Yuma, honestly we stay at the Motel 6, kinda cheap and close to everything. Keep in mind this is a little drive out there and nothing in walking distance. We paid $84 (AAA discount), and well worth it! The bed was king size, nice pillows and comfortable. At the Motel 6 we were dropping anywhere from $68-$95 per night depending on the day of the week with only a small queen bed and zero extra perks except the lingering embedded cigarette smell.I decided to give this a try for a change of scenery. I was VERY glad we did. Hotel was very clean and had a good clean smell all around. Our room was big plus the bathroom,it was pretty much a full size bathroom with added touches! The pool was clean, the hot tub was great at midnight, since it is open 24 hours there was no one else down there at that time. Very peaceful. Hotel, snack bar /food court and gift shop all had very nice employees. The casino not so much. The "soda drink" waitresses were rude and no personality, they seemed to hate their job and wanted no interaction with the customers. The dealers at the live tables seemed very bored, not many were playing live games so I can only imagine how the dealers felt standing there not being busy. Slot machines didn't pay out a massive amount, this is No Vegas, but it was fun.
I rated a 4 only because the restaurant inside the casino is still closed so the snack bar food was all they offered. It was good dont get me wrong and with your room key we saved like 10% or something like that. The breakfast was nice and FREE coffee in the lobby. We...
Read moreThe hotel is really good. The suites are a bit on the small side, but they are nice and only about $30 more than a regular room. The regular rooms are well kept, but pricey. Pool is ice cold, but you will still get sunburned and the hot tub is well... hot. The food has improved as the restaurant opened, but prices skyrocketed. The casino has a great rewards package, but some of the house employees and managers are quite rude, but the awesomeness of the rest of the managers and staff more than makes up for it. My family and I had one of the worst days we can remember. I will spare the sob story, well, the casino staff took it seriously. They got us the best help they could, and after it was over, they even gave us gas money to get home. They are truly wonderful people. The grumpiest 2 managers have started to cheer up with us over time and the rude staff (only 3 that are not managers) keep their distance now.
I would hope everyone in the Yuma area or anyone visiting the Yuma area takes some time out of their day and visits this little gem in the desert. I don't think you will be...
