Long and Short, great place for the Money.
Todd and Zachariah provide IMPECCABLE service. By far the best hotel experience I have had regarding service. They earn 5 Stars for that. I travel a lot for work, and I have had the entire gamut of experiences.
Also, they had a great rate for our 2 bed room. They answered before the second ring when I called to check vacancy. Check in was a breeze. Todd even offered us some advice on where to go for dinner that night, and without prompting or expectation from us, he called ahead and made us reservations on the spot. See other review for our dining experience.
About the facility. The facility is older. There are no AC units in the type of room that we stayed in, but a nice fan was provided. Also provided was a charging station with 2 wide set plug ins and 4 usb plug ins, which came in very handy. The beds were firm, but I slept well. The linens were Incredibly comfortable, both to sleep on/under, and after the shower. They had a nice array of toiletries available in the bathroom in case we forgot anything. The view was very nice, and the place was quiet, because they are just a mile or two out of town. Mini fridge, coffee pot, microwave, tv were all provided and in good working order, as well as a retro table and 2 chairs. There are propane grills provided on the veranda and available for use, along with some patio sets to sit and enjoy your coffee in the morning outside. The Check-in area definitely had some old time...
Read moreI chose this hotel based on price and availability. It delivered what I was looking for and I was satisfied with the stay. ||The location is just outside of town on Hwy. 34. But it's convenient enough in relation to restaurants, shops and downtown. It also offers nice views of the surrounding mountains. ||This is not a 5 Star resort but it does not promote itself as such. Service was extremely helpful and friendly. The King room was large and comfortable. The age of the hotel was apparent in the decor and the bathroom facilities. A fridge was included. The A/C did not appear to work well (if at all) but an open window kept the room comfortable. The room had a small patio with a couple of chairs looking towards Rocky Mountain National Park. And compared to other hotels in the area, the price was definitely affordable. ||This is an older hotel and if you're expecting a budget hotel, it's a good option. If you're looking for a romantic, 5 star resort, you need to look elsewhere. Honestly, I would not book here if I was taking my girlfriend to Estes Park for a romantic getaway. But, for just myself, while watching my budget, the Olympus Lodge suited my needs perfectly. If visiting again on my own, I would definitely book again at...
Read moreAccording to the Olympus Lodge, it was established in 1922, as a summer school teaching extension courses through Colorado State Teacher's College in Greeley, Olympus Lodge opened for guest lodging sometime in the mid-1930s. At that time there were three floors to the main lodge building, but after a fire destroyed the third floor in the early 1940s, it became a two-floor structure looking much like it does today. The Lodge is an older motel that could use some sprucing up on the interior; although the outside is picturesque. The rooms are dated and close quarters with hard beds and dated accouterments. Overall for a quick stay, it was average based on price and location. Three Rate Schedules: A King Room $90 -1$20, B Queen or Two Double Room $80-$110, C Two Queen Rooms $100 - $130 depending upon season...
