Stayed one night at Birch campground two weeks before Memorial Day weekend. Only a dozen or so campers so plenty of sites were available. Fees: $25 for tent site, $30 for non-resident. Electric/water sites at $30 resident, $35 non-resident. Many level sites with some mature trees for shade, overlooking a narrow strip of sandy beach. No real access to the water unless you trek across a marshy area or drive to the day-use section. View of the lake was spectacular and the wildlife amazing, especially the water fowl: two American storks, terns, Canadian geese, and lots of magpies, which gave the area a magical ambiance. And I saw my first sandhill crane here, which contributed greatly to my experience! Unfortunately, the campground bordered a cattle yard so the noise and smell were a little off-putting. Also, the shower facility was unclean, buggy, and the water barely tepid. The electrical outlets in restroom did not work. Would not camp here again but there were still so many things to appreciate. Maybe it’ll get better during the busy season? I hope so.

We had a great time at Rendezvous Beach, on the northside of beautiful Bear Lake. This is the perfect beachy area you want. The tepid water is about 100 feet from the beach area, creating lots of room on the sandy shore for shade tents, playing in the sand, looking for seashells or volleyball. There are covered pavilions, however, I think you have to call and reserve them. There some tables and the men’s and women’s bathrooms are a short walk away. We were able to walk out pretty far before the lake goes over a five or six-year-olds head. We were on the east side of the beach while the rental shack is on the western side, (where most beach goers go). We went on a Friday and almost had the beach to ourselves. A one day pass was around $20 per car. We love it and always return. I gave 4 out of stars due to lack of shade, minimal parking and debris on the shore line.

We camp here for a week every year. There is a reason we come back... because it's amazing. We get the group site with the pavilion and will never go back. There are bathrooms, electricity, water, parking, fire pits, and lots of trees for shade. But the best part is the beach. The sand is soft and filled with tiny adorable seashells. The water is clear and beautiful. And,as a parent, I love that the water very very gradually goes deeper. So there is plenty of space for the kids too play, without worry about it dropping off and getting deep out of nowhere. Also, this campground is close to Garden City, where there are cute little shops, grocery stores, and amazing food.

I would have loved to give this campground 5 stars because we have had so much fun but unfortunately we had some very load neighbors after the 10pm quite time. We asked the neighbors nicely to quite down and they swore at my 70 year old mother and teenager daughter. We called the campground host and she said they would send someone. We waited 20 minutes and no one came. I called again and they said someone would come. No one did. The neighbors started screaming again so we called 911 and about 20 after that the cops came but apparently the campground actually called them the first time when we call. I don't know why the campground host couldn't come when I first called. What is the point of paying for a campground if the host is not there to regulate the quiet time? The cops were not much help and were very annoyed we called them. The guy acted like we were the problem and the cops were laughing and joking with him and came and told us if we called again both of us would be kicked out. I told them I didn't think that was fair and they didn't see how horrible the people were but they didn't care. I am now sitting outside at almost 1am making sure they don't mess with my daughter. Just a sad situation that could have been made better by a decent campground host. EDIT After talking to the campground host the next day we found out that there was a miscommunication with the front office. I asked for the camper host to come and they have no way of contacting the campground host and we should have went and knocked on their door. The campground host was so nice and apologized for the confusion and wished she would have been told. She said they have had problems with the rangers/officers in the area being annoyed if they are called unless someone is injured or its worth their time. It's sad since we are trying to show our children that most cops are helpful and nice and this didn't show that. We will for sure be back to this campground. I did go in the restroom once and it was pretty gross so that could...

Amenities and general grounds are really nice. Plumbing in all the bathrooms, showers available, and a boat launch area for those interested. My issue comes with the staff. I've been coming here since I was maybe 6 or 7 year old with family and every year the staff seems to get worse but this year was enough for me to say something about. A few weeks ago I went to stay with family for 2 nights and 3 days and there was no hot water in the shower for nearly the entire time we were there. We sent someone to let staff know at least twice per day and they just kept saying they'd get someone on it. Last day there, apparently my car tag fell off and my brother admitted later he found it and thought it was trash and put it in the fire. Point being, they came and started threatening to tow and fee me, I showed them my bank statement showing the charge and they refused to hear me out, and I went and paid for a day pass just to settle things. My final straw came when my father went to tell the local campground keeper that there was still no hot water and she got in her cart and drove off without acknowledging him in any way and left him talking alone. Added in with the fact that the campground bathrooms were a mess the entire time we were there with one of the men's stall so dirty it was almost unusable, the general staff and upkeep of the area left much to be desired. I used to love this place growing up but with my experiences in the last few years and this last one most of all, I will be finding a new campground. That being said, if you are looking for just day use, this is still a pretty good spot as far as beach area...

Our first week we were in the Birch campground. Birch is a bit more RV park like than we would prefer. Lots of pull throughs, no trees, decent separation and lots of weeds. It feels a bit dumpy.

Our second week we moved over to the Big Creek loop, site 37 and liked that much better. There are trees all through the loop, some very private sites and better views of the lake. Some of the sites can still be pretty close and our site was tight side to side.

Verizon and AT&T signal was strong and fast. OTA TV reception was good as well.

A big downside for us was that dogs are not allowed on the beach anywhere in the park. The "beach" is at least a 1/4 mile from where the prohibited zone starts, most of which is overgrown and not sandy. It would be nice if they had some areas in the park where you could get down to the water with your dogs. You can leave the park and drive up the road a couple of miles and get easy access.

The other downside is that all the hiking is at least an hour drive away. There are some fantastic hikes available up Logan Canyon you just have to be willing to drive a while to get there.

If we were back in the area and really wanted full hookups we would stay here again, otherwise would probably look at some of the campgrounds on the east side of the...
