The suite had a main room - living room, eating area and kitchenette in one room. Then a small hall with a few stairs took one down to the bathroom and bedroom. All the rooms were large with very high ceilings and skylights. The rooms had lots of natural light coming in from everywhere. There were also sliding doors off the living room and also the bedroom with decks overlooking the river. The upper deck had lounge chairs, the lower one off the bedroom had regular chairs. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows perfect. The sofa did also open into a bed if needed. The shower was spacious, very nice and had good shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. Water temp and pressure were good.||The place had much new wood and other updates that were obviously very recent. The owner and his staff were out everyday tending to the grounds and planting flowers. It was obvious that he wants to keep this property in good shape and looking new. I had children over one day and they were able to use the play area, basketball, walk by the river, play on the trampoline and have fun. There is also a pond there for fishing if one wants to do that as well as many seats along the river such as picnic tables, benches, swings, hammocks, and table with chairs. The rooms were very clean, spacious and well-kept.||It was a little tough to find off of Hwy 285, but he gave good directions to me via text that got me there, though I did pass right by it the first time due to the sign being small - I thought it was someone's private residence.||It is obvious that they want this to be a nice place with all the constant attention it gets and nice little touches such as the shampoo in the shower, coffee and tea supplies in the kitchen, USB plugs and even cords to charge your devices, and foot rests in the living room that double as snack trays! This will be my place to stay when...
Read moreTBL exceeded our expectations and provided us with a great stay during our family vacation to Colorado. We stayed for 5 days. John and Sheri are excellent hosts and were communicative via text before and during our stay which was awesome and personable. Josh and staff were great, helpful, & attentive. Our daughters (ages 1 & 5) loved feeding the fish in the pond daily. Feed provided by TBL's front office. This was a highlight for them to see the fish rush and splash around. The view from our porch was gorgeous with the river flowing behind our room. Sleeping with the windows/screen open for the fresh cool air was a nice change of pace. Being from Texas, we rely on AC all the time. The room looked recently renovated with great features like a newer stove and fridge which was great having our littles with us. Property is well manicured. There is seating along the river to enjoy the breath-taking views of the trees and flowing water. There is a little playground for the kids. There are fishing poles & nets to catch fish (good sized in the pond). Horse shoe game and bikes. There are good spots to eat nearby & grocery stores within 20 minutes. Location was great for us to travel to different spots we had planned. Thank you TBL for an overall great experience and stay! Hope we can make another trip...
Read moreIn June of 2016, my wife, grandson and myself began through-hiking the 500 mile Colorado Trail (CT). After hiking three segments of the CT we needed a break in Bailey, CO. Some people at the post office (where we were retrieving our resupply box) told us about Lynwood Park. All of the lodge rooms were booked, but they did have an large hostel type room available for a reasonable price. They furnished cots (we used our own sleeping bags) which were adequate for the one night stay. The hostel area had shower, clothes washer and dryer, and a kitchen area with fridge, etc. available. We were comfortable.||The park itself is beautifully landscaped and right along the South Platte River, with tables and chairs outside to enjoy the views and the sound the of the river. The park is also located within walking distance of a small store/restaurant/lounge.||Finally, Lynwood Park also caters to backpackers (in addition to the hostel arrangement) by offering the sale of some backpacking items, and most importantly, providing a free ride back to the Colorado Trail trailheads near Bailey or Kenosha Pass. I offered the driver (the owner) some compensation for gas/time, but he would not accept it. The owners/operators were courteous, kind, and friendly. I highly recommend...
