AWFUL! Hopefully this will help others decide to pass on this “resort”! Upon arrival; We were given instructions to check in at the guards post. My wife walked up to the post to confirm we had the correct place since there are so many neighborhoods here. She opened the door (no windows there and she couldn’t see inside due to the reflective glass and no one was outside) and was immediately berated by the Security Officer for opening the door. Was told to “don’t you ever open this door”. She refused to talk to my wife until she got back into the vehicle and she continued to berate my wife for daring to open her door and not knocking. She slammed the door shut. Upon my wife walking back to the truck I turned around and pulled up to the “office/ guard shack. There was no sign stating to knock on the door or what to do to sign in. I thought whatever took place between my wife and the security guard would have been over when I rolled down my window. The security guard asked “are you here to check in”? I replied yes. At that point the security guard started on her rant about “you should never open the door to her office or get out of the Vehichle”. I replied where is a sign with instructions informing guests what to do? She then refused to check us in stating there are rules on what to do and we didn’t follow it. There are no posted directions. She said until we listen to her, we will sit there and she was not checking us in. She then threatened to detain us as she will not check us in. Threatening that we were on camera and all was being recorded. We told her she, too, was being recorded on our dash cam. When she realized that she was also being recorded, she back peddle by by calling us “baby” and “my love” saying she was just letting us know what we should have done. My wife told her we are not her baby or her love and we just want to be registered so we can get to our rental. She said since we don’t understand her, we won’t be going anywhere. We paid a lot of money for this large rental home and are now being held at the security gate being treated worse than garbage. She continue to say we won’t be going anywhere. We asked to speak to the manager. She called for the manager and continued to berate us. We finally rolled up our window and waited. While waiting the lady who was with her (who she apparently was training) apologized to us. The manager came out and asked what happens and we explained the situation to her. She confirmed our reservations and apologized stating the security there was a contract company. Our youngest son started crying because he cannot tell the difference between a security officer and LEO and thought we may get a “pew pew shot from the cop”. In the meantime other guests were also attempting to check in and the line was getting longer. The General Manager apologized to us and preceded to check us in. The General Manager also asked for our dash cam footage and also stated she was going to review the security camera above the door that my wife originally went to in order to see if she can see the initial response that my wife incurred. That evening during our swim in the house swimming pool the odor of marijuana filled the air. We had the rest of our guests arriving earlier (after midnight) last night. When the first Vehichle arrived we received a call from the driver that the driveway was blocked by a car. Went outside and was trying to figure out how to call security in order to get the car removed when another car pulled in next door. I asked the occupants of that car if they knew the owner of the car and was told “yes”. I politely asked them to see about getting the car moved and everything was going well and then another lady came over cussing, using the MF words about me. I then asked why she was referring to me as an MFr and she said she wasn’t talking to me, she was talking about me. The property owners and the Management Company definitely need to review the contract with the security company and ensure they are getting their moneys worth.Had to short due to post limits.

I've given "rooms" 5 stars, it's a complex of villas... some privately owned and lived in, some like the one we stayed in a rental property. We stayed in 9004 Sunrise Ridge Loop and it was excellent! Huge house, plenty of facilities. Staff we encountered were fantastic and friendly. The facilities where good too. Clubhouse clean and inviting with cool indoor areas and outdoor areas to sit and eat or relax. Pools were also excellent! Have a good at the flow rider it's amazing, the guy running it is patient and willing to work with beginners like me and my son who by the end of the session where sble yo fo it, not as good as him though lol ask for a demo!!! 🤩🏄‍♂️

Our stay at Solara Resort was absolutely incredible, and one of the highlights was definitely the FlowRider experience! Leandro and Noah were amazing hosts—super friendly, patient, and encouraging. Whether you were trying it for the first time or had some experience, they made everyone feel comfortable and excited to ride. Their energy and positive attitude made it so much fun, and their tips really helped everyone improve and enjoy the experience to the fullest. The FlowRider is a must-try when staying at Solara, and with Leandro and Noah running the show, you're guaranteed a great time!

Run!! Do not book here!!||This home, located at 8955 Amelia Downs Trail and managed by Shine Villas, is completely infested with roaches and ants. My family’s vacation was ruined, and the company knowingly ignored complaints while falsely advertising this property as a livable rental.||||⸻||||Day 1: Arrival and First Impressions||||We arrived late at 11:30 PM after a six-hour drive with several exhausted kids. At the entrance, I noticed a couple of roaches near the door but initially brushed it off, thinking, “It’s Florida, it’s hot—it could just be outside pests.”||||After putting the kids to bed, I went downstairs to look around. That’s when I realized this home was not as advertised.|| • The master bedroom upstairs had an uncomfortable mattress with springs sticking out, making it nearly impossible to sleep.|| • The mattress cover was severely stained, raising hygiene concerns.|| • The bathroom clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while—grime and neglect were obvious.||||Already, I felt uneasy, but the true nightmare was about to unfold.||||⸻||||Day 2: Infestation Becomes Clear||||The next morning, as soon as I came downstairs, roaches scattered everywhere.|| • They were crawling on the kitchen counters, the floor, and even the game room area, which terrified the kids.|| • I immediately told the children to keep shoes on and zip their bags shut to prevent bugs from getting inside.||||At 8:35 AM, I called Shine Villas to report the infestation. The representative apologized and promised to send an exterminator. She also claimed no one had ever reported issues before, which I later confirmed to be a blatant lie—other guests have experienced the same problems and contacted me directly after I left my review.||||Later that day, after returning from SeaWorld, I called again. My elderly disabled mother was also arriving, and we needed a wheelchair for her, so we stayed put despite the filth. I left a voicemail begging for urgent action, but no one responded.||||We were forced to pack our belongings into the car to keep them safe from the bugs. I immediately started searching for alternate accommodations for my family of 12.||||⸻||||Day 3: Situation Worsens||||By the third morning, the infestation was undeniable:|| • Roaches were crawling across the stove.|| • My kids refused to eat in the kitchen because insects were everywhere.|| • Ants had also joined the problem, creating further disgust.||||I made the heartbreaking decision to send my disabled mother away for her health and took the children out of the house for most of the day. My daughter and her son went to the beach while I frantically searched for other options.||||I sent an email to Shine Villas detailing the situation. Instead of addressing the problem, their response came at 2:00 AM—they demanded we vacate immediately and offered only $127 for one night as compensation.||||This was insulting and unacceptable given the magnitude of the issue and the fact that we had a disabled family member, a family member with cancer, and several children depending on this trip.||||⸻||||Shine Villas’ Negligence and Dishonesty||||The more I researched, the more I discovered: this was not an isolated incident. Others had complained about the same home, and Shine Villas had ignored or silenced them too.|| • They know this property is uninhabitable but continue to rent it out.|| • They claim they have “no reports” while fully aware of the infestation.|| • They ignore calls and emails until guests leave negative reviews, then retaliate by threatening eviction instead of resolving the issue.||||This is not just poor customer service—it is a deliberate pattern of negligence and deception.||||⸻||||The Impact on My Family||||Shine Villas’ refusal to take responsibility destroyed our trip:|| • We had to scramble to find new lodging for a family of 12 at the last minute.|| • My disabled mother and my family member battling cancer were subjected to unsafe, stressful conditions.|| • My children were traumatized by roaches crawling through every part of the home, including where they were supposed to eat and sleep.||||Instead of making memories together, we spent hours on the phone, moving belongings, and searching desperately for a safe place to stay.||||⸻||||False Advertising and Accountability||||Shine Villas falsely advertises this property as a clean, family-friendly vacation home when in reality:|| • It is filthy, neglected, and crawling with pests.|| • The beds and furniture are unsanitary and uncomfortable.|| • The bathrooms have not been properly maintained.||||Families like mine book in good faith, only to be met with lies, cover-ups, and hostility when we demand accountability.||||Their offer of $127 for one night was insulting compared to the thousands we spent and the health risks we endured.||||⸻||||Call to Action||||I am determined not to let Shine Villas get away with this. If you have had similar issues with this property or any Shine Villas home, please contact me at adasmills@yahoo.com.||||Together, we can hold this company accountable for:|| • Knowingly renting unsafe, pest-infested properties.|| • Lying to guests about prior complaints.|| • Retaliating against customers instead of resolving issues.||||This experience has shown me that Shine Villas operates with deception and disregard for families’ well-being.||||⸻||||Final Word||||This was supposed to be a special trip for my family, including children, a disabled elderly mother, and a relative fighting cancer. Instead, Shine Villas ruined it through lies, neglect, and a refusal to take responsibility.||||I will not stop until this company is exposed and held accountable.||||Do not book this home. Do not book with Shine Villas. They knowingly rent out infested, filthy houses and abandon families who...

AWFUL!

Hopefully this will help others decide to pass on this “resort”!

Upon arrival;

We were given instructions to check in at the guards post. My wife walked up to the post to confirm we had the correct place since there are so many neighborhoods here. Will never stay again- 4/15-4/21

PROS The unit is individually owned and maintained; so we had direct communication regarding our unit and addressed our issues upon check in with the owner. However it is apparent that as long as they make their money; maintaining the integrity of the units and cleanliness is secondary. Luxury is not what I would use to describe the unit. It looked beautiful from photos but not so much in person.

CONS -not really that close to Disney/parks. -Not a resort, not luxury. -Overly busy with large families, and kids whose parents didn’t teach them respect. Can smell everyone smoking weed at night. -All units are within like 4ft from each other so don’t expect any privacy when using your “private pool” or patio. You’ll end up listening to others convos, kids yelling/screaming and loud bizarre music. Zero courtesy. The heavy late night drinkers yell, hoot and holler as if they are in the ghetto. Supposedly there are quiet time hours- but if your neighbor decides to have a late night rager, kids running amuck, don’t expect anyone to have common courtesy or adhere to quiet time hours. -contacting the guard gate or management is impossible to put in noise complaint.

Neighbors so close windows overlook each others unit; so you’re pretty much forced to keep the blinds/ curtains closed.

Trash is to be put out before 8am pick up (but not the night before or significantly earlier) in this tiny plastic box on the porch. The whole neighborhood smells like hot garbage every morning.

-parking is ridiculous; so much street parking takes place (we were told it no street parking was allowed) other guests block unit driveways and through ways making it very difficult to pull in and out of driveway; and even just navigating the roads around Solara.

No guard on duty to let you back into the secondary gate. You have to constantly go through main gate, show your pass and do a U turn to go across the street and wait for them to open the gate. Which I’m sure is just as annoying for them as it is for us.

Overall super disappointed; will never stay at Solara again or anything similar to this style Airbnb/resort. Over priced for zero privacy /...
