BUYER BEWARE - SEWAGE PLANT BEHIND THE HOUSE - COCKROACHES - EVERYTHING IS RIP OFF IN KISSIMMEE!
I rented a house for 2 weeks in this gated community from Villa Borealis on Wyndham Palm.
We chose this home because of all the positive reviews on HomeStay! We had a series of problems with the house. These problems were identified near the beginning of our stay (2 weeks), and solved near the very end of our stay. While Lyle acknowledged that we didn't get what we paid for, he refused to compensate us for these mishaps.
A SEWAGE PLANT BEHIND THE HOUSE! Click on the map view of this listing and zoom down a bit and you'll notice a body of water in your backyard. MOST of our backyard relaxation was accompanied by a constant noise (factory, engines) and the most putrid potty smell filling the air, so thick you can taste it. In addition, the house water STINKS! We planned to drink bottle water, but when you shower or brush your teeth, bring a nose plug.
COCKROACHES - Nowhere in the listing, but when you arrive you'll be presented with a full page that cockroaches are a problem in the area. We had cockroaches daily feasting on our countertop, and in the bedroom. The first day I put a bag of apples on the countertop and later in the day met my first cockroaches. There were 3-4 that made their way into the bag! They acknowledged that there was a problem and offered to 'spray' the house while we were there! Ya, no thanks!
NO POOL HEAT: Since we stayed in Feb, it was recommended that we bought pool heat, which we did. From day one the pool heat wasn't working, the pump had problems and the cover was shredded. While Lyle didn't end up 'charging' us for pool heat, he failed to acknowledge that a home without pool heat in Florida's winter affected the rest of out stay.
NO HOUSE HEAT: I guess the furnace isn't needed for most of the year, but we had several overnight lows in the single digits. Since the furnace was wired to a 30AMP breaker instead of the 60AMP breaker that was required, it would not run. We would wake up in the morning shivering. A technician finally fixed it and we had heat for the last couple days.
NO TV, INTERNET, PHONE: because of a faulty wire behind the wall, we had the worst experience with the tv, internet and phone. Of course, in this day of age, one might commit suicide without just one. Out of 2 weeks, we enjoyed about 3 days with our services working. The good news is it's likely working for you, the bad news is Lyle takes a 'that's the risk you take' attitude as a property owner, and refused to compensate us partially for this.

Also, if you like to sleep, relax or enjoy a quiet place, this is NOT it.||||When we moved in, the place was very clean, relaxing and enjoyable to live in. About 2 years ago the management changed and started to go down hill. ||||First, it is the MOST noisy place to live. Between the guys who cut the grass, then blows the leaves from one area to another (2 feet away). Then the ppl that blow the hallways to blow trash and the other ppl that water pressure the same hallways it is unbearable to sleep, relax or work. All sounds great to keep clean but it is daily and these worker are very slow at what they do . Then you have the ones that pick up the garbage and slam the lids as thew work from condo to condo. Again sounds nice, but it is so loud all of this that again work, sleep or relax here it is unbearable.||||The area as well is not as clean as in the past. On a regular basis management would send a pest control company to spray the condos. In the past 2 years, this service has been done away with. I cannot remember the last time someone was in our place to spray. The areas in the parking lot are not as clean. The security in the front of the development were so friendly in the past. Now, when passing through, you don't see them. Yesterday the gate would not open and the guard a young women answered at the sound of my horn, "what do you want"?. ||||Windsor Palm is still a nice area but it has gone downhill in the past couple of years. Seems management is cutting costs. Oh, almost forgot. The internet on a monthly basis goes down. Sometimes for only short periods but still goes down. Read moreI never ever put a bad review online. If I have a problem I contact the company about my concerns because thats the way things should be handled. And I did. But when I called the number that was in the binder that was provided for any request or issues to contact, I got a man that didn't seem to want to understand my concern. It was like if i was ruining his day. I didn't yell or ask for anything other than to understand my concern. My partner and I were enjoying the pool area on the property we rented on our last day, and without warning the 3 men just open the screened door that leads to our pool area and start cleaning. I fully understand you guys need to clean the pools weekly. Thats not the issue. My problem was they didnt knock or at least warn us that they plan to enter the pool area. If I would have gotten a warning like a knock or a shout out like "pool cleaners are hear"! I would have been like no problem and gotten out of there way. But the customer service person that answered my call treated me like I had no reason to complain. I was trying to relay information so you guys could better handle this to there future guest. But he said "99 out of a 100 guest are not there so its never been an issue". Where did that stat come from? Im no longer mad at the pool guys because I guess they are told to enter the properties without warning. Im mad at how the customer service person that answered my call handled it. So unfortunately when I go back to ohio tomorrow and when people ask me about where to stay in orlando to visit all the parks down here. I won't recommend this property. I had a few small issues while i was here but I was going to let them go. But I do not accept poor customer service. I hope this isnt how you guys usually handle customer serive issues...
