Not what was expected from other glowing reviews. Pros: lovely restored building, clean room, comfortable bed, walk in shower. There is a bar and restaurant adjacent to the lobby, which is a nice convenience and we enjoyed a happy hour drink and a delicious dinner after a long day on the road. Cons: unfortunately there is a piano in the main lobby next to the bar. The night we stayed, we had barely gone to sleep when we woke up about 10 pm to loud singing. My husband ended up getting out of bed and going downstairs. People were gathered around the piano singing and the owner said the cut off time would probably be around midnight! My husband said he thought the comfort of the guests who thought they were booking into a hotel should come first. They finally stopped at 11. However, our biggest concern was what seems to be the lack of a system to tell which rooms are occupied. Right after the piano incident, my husband heard someone trying to get into our room. Fortunately, we had the deadbolt on. He went downstairs again only to discover that the night clerk had given our duplicate key to someone else checking in! When my husband questioned what kind of security system they had about keys, the clerk just shrugged and said she thought the room was empty! No apology, nothing. One other thing-we chose to travel during a high Covid transmission time to see our daughter who we hadn’t seen in two years. By car. Wearing masks everywhere and trying to stay places that actively took precautions against Covid. We were surprised to find no masks in evidence here! Staff and food servers unmasked. Including the group around the piano singing! So, if you choose to stay here, you need to know this. Bottom Line: if you normally stay up late and don’t mind a busy or noisy venue, this might suit you. Otherwise, for almost $150, I will pick an upscale hotel or motel where I can have the same clean, comfy room AND a good...
Read moreOur experience at The Meadows restaurant in Fulton, KY, was incredibly disappointing. Despite a reservation for a 13-person party at 6:30 pm, our evening went immediately downhill. The wait for our drinks alone took over 30 minutes, and our food didn't arrive until 8:30 pm. This extended delay was particularly challenging as we had three children at the table, whose meals were served even later, at 8:30 pm, with a 27-minute gap between their food and the rest of the party's.
One of the most concerning aspects was the lack of attentive service. The servers seemed overwhelmed, each handling a maximum of two table, leading to significant delays. The manager's response or lack of was equally disappointing; not only did they fail to address our concerns effectively, but they also resorted to dishonesty by claiming they were short-staffed when it was clear that poor leadership and management were the root causes of the issues. If everyone had hands on deck including the incapable management, I believe the experience would have felt more sincere and authentic.
Despite bringing these concerns to the manager's attention, they never bothered to check on our table or offer any form of apology for this terrible experience. This lack of accountability and customer care was deeply disappointing, especially considering that we had gathered from different locations all over for a special family dinner and birthday celebration.
Overall, our experience at The Meadows was far below expectations. We left feeling disgusted and let down by the poor management. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this...
Read moreSave yourself and do not stay here. From outward appearance, we thought this was going to be a cute little boutique hotel where we could get a good night's sleep. Their website advertises an included breakfast. Not only does it not even include a cheesy continental breakfast there, you get given a $5 voucher to use at 2 restaurants in town where $5 won't come close to covering breakfast. The first night, the fridge in the room was clanking so loudly that we were woken up repeatedly. We figured, these things can happen and unplugged it for the second night. Not getting any sleep the first night, we were really ready for some rest night two. Housekeeping never came in and re-set the room. The second night was absolutely horrible. There is a bar/restaurant on the first level that apparently is the party spot for the town and where they have no issues over serving their patrons. We got to the hotel around midnight and encounter 6-10 very drunken college aged people. We went upstairs and assumed they would leave and we could get some rest. Apparently they were staying in the hotel as well. Yelling, kicking and banging on doors, doors slamming, and arguing went on until 3am. I called the front desk. They did very little to assure me they would get the situation under control. I gave them 30 minutes, then had to call the non-emergency police number. Around 3:30am, it finally calmed down. We had to get up at 6:00am so got no sleep for two nights. To add salt to the wound none of the breakfast locations in town were open when we departed at 7am. Until they get the bar under control, save your .only and...
