I was at this hotel for over a month for work and I would like begin by saying that the location is perfect. It is literally located right off the on ramp for I-40 and next door to 3 gas stations. The hotel itself was clean on the inside and the outside was well kept. Room service did a great job at having the room cleaned between my roommate's and I work shift. As far as the rooms, the televisions were extremely small and could not be seen clearly if you had so much as a match stick lit due to the glare. They also claim to have many channels but out of the 12 channels they have 8 are repeats. A few times I arrived to the room to find a centipede on my floor and a strange small red spider crawling on my bed. One thing I did not like at all or understood why they would do this is that on top of paying for your stay here, they would charge you an additional $3/day for WiFi internet which was terribly slow. Their daily rate was only $1-5 dollars cheaper than all other surrounding hotels, which included breakfast and WiFi. You had to go to the office and buy internet by day (due to the new daily password) and manually input these codes on a daily basis. Another situation that upset me was that due to we were scheduled to be in town for anywhere from 1 to 3 months while completing the maintenance turnaround at the Western Refining refinery, we were told that when we got close to our check out date we could still pay the "weekly rate per day" while paying day per day (since we did not have an exact extraction date). When this time came, I was told that "the manager" said we could not do this and we had to pay the full daily rate unless we paid the full week. It was the manager who told us we could do this so why overturn your decision after we had paid without fail for over 5 weeks? We didn't ask for a discount, they offered it to us then overturned it without notice. We stayed here due to all other hotels being booked at the time, and although I would rather book elsewhere next time I'm in the area, I wouldn't consider this my...
Read moreMotel was not the best by far in comparison to other motel 6 sites ive stayed at. The staff member was very friendly and gave me a discount only charging me for 1adult and not 3 we had staying. But after entering the room i think i figured out why i got a discount. The room was smaller than most i have stayed in which was ok but made the room feel cluttered. The curtains on the window did not cover the entire window which i did not like obviously staying at a motel you would still like your privacy but anyone walking by could clearly see into our room. The bathroom door knob was broken and would not lock. I was staying with family so this also was ok but once again "no privacy" but by far my biggest pepieve was the disgusting carpet. I'm not talking your average stain here and there this carpet was bad. Bad enough i wouldn't step on it barefoot and did not like having my 2 children in the room on it. It literally looked like someone ripped the carpet out of a 100 year old abandoned building drug behind their car all the way to the motel and then reinstalled it in the motel. If i didn't arrive at the motel at 3am too tired to continue driving i would have left to look for a better place to stay. Highly not...
Read moreThis is the second time we have stayed at a Motel 6 on the I -40 corridor in Northern New Mexico. We stayed at the one in Grants last year. We travel that way for family quite often. We won't be staying in any Motel 6 property there again. The room reeked of smoke, the shower was dirty, and the ac unit looked to be in disrepair. The tv sucked, all the channels were fuzzy and half of them didn't come in correctly. I have stayed at other Motel 6 properties and have had good service. These properties need to be upgraded, as they are dingy and old looking. 1976 called and they want their motel back, and I say raze them and give 1976 what it wants. The I-40 corridor is a major east west Interstate, and thus enough traffic to afford upgrades and renovations, of both these properties. The front desk lady was a delight, and very personable. I give her a perfewct score on customer service. Also we blew in at 11am and they did have a room for us in on the bottom floor. Close to a place where we could take our small dogs out for a walk. So thgere was some good, and not all was bad. Thank you for your time and...
