This place is amazing. It’s not upscale but definitely has the flavor profile to be one. I got lamb curry and chai tea. Both were really good. Unlike other places, they actually cut the meat up into bit size pieces with no bones so that was nice. Overall 10/10. Bathrooms were clean.
Btw they no longer do buffets.
Edit: 2nd trip. Got the chicken tandoori. I forgot to take a pic when I first got it cause I was so hungry. It’s freaking amazing. Yogurt marinaded chicken. Got a side of rice to go with it and my usual chai tea. 10/10 for this dish. Will be back next week to try something else
Edit: 3rd trip (I’ve actually came here more but I haven’t documented it) I got lamb curry. I was going to try a new one but I remember I liked it a lot the first time I got it. I also got the vegetable samosa which is similar to this Japanese croquettes but with a tougher shell. Dipped it into this sweet and the green sauce is medium spice so I asked for both inside. Saving one to go eat later. Overall experience was great. Although they are packed In here I got the food within 15 minutes which is great. 10/10 this visit
4th trip: Today I got the medium spice lamb biryani, lamb curry like usual and chai tea. The food is great. The biryani actually doesn’t have nuts or raisins so that was nice. You can add some if you like but this version tastes great. The lamb cube is super tender and melts in your mouth.
See you at the next trip. Will try something completely new. But jeez the lamb curry is fire.
Probably my last review cause I forgot to take a pic before I ate my lamb curry. This is officially my favorite dish here. Everything is always consistently great. Never had an issue at this restaurant. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Service is great here and all the Indian brothers are respectful, nice and accommodating. They make sure you get your values worth when it comes to food.
Trip # infinity. Not sure now how many times I’ve been here but I for sure come here once a week. Got to try this vegetable curry with cheese. The flavor definitely had vegetable flavor and the cheese was delicious as well. I personally like meat dishes so I’m going to be sticking to my lamb curry. But I will definitely say that my vegetarian people will love this curry.
Garlic nan was amazing. It’s freshly made and the garlic was full flavor. Will...
Read moreConnected to a gas station, you enter through the gas station mini market. Converted truck stop dinner to Indian restaurant. Outdated decor. Booth space was tight and uncomfortable. In early December the room was a bit chilly. If you can get past all of this, you will experience some of the best Indian cuisine in America! The service was attentive and friendly. They projected gratitude for your business with every encounter. Multiple men served us. After ordering our food, plates, flatware and bottled water were bought to the table. My husband and I shared the cucumber salad appetizer. Tossed in a vinaigrette dressing, chunky slices of fresh cucumber and tomatoes, mixed with thinly sliced green bell peppers and chunks of cooked potatoes. Nice portion easily shared by two to four people. Lamb Saag, so tasty and tender, Lamb Gobi with cauliflower, yummy, a dinner plate covered in white rice, mildly seasoned, garlic naan bread were delivered to the table. My plain naan came later. The entrees and naan breads were hot in temperature, freshly prepared. The flavors were wonderful. How can I return to my local Indian restaurants now? The high bar for flavor experience exceeds what my hometown can offer. Tips are preferred in cash. They had to run our credit card again to add a tip. The business, on American standards, was rough looking and antiquated. But the food and service is authentic, warm, inviting, and delicious. As we traveled I-40 often, we will return, hopefully to find this gem of a restaurant thriving. On the far western side of Gallop, first exit traveling east, last one, if headed west, north side of freeway. Come, taste and see! I...
Read moreDecided to give this place a try as I am tired of the cookie cutter truck stops the big 3 offers. I should've known as soon as I saw four guys get out of the same truck all wearing flip flops my experience here would be unpleasant.
The inside reminds me of the 80's, there is a wall covered with carpet!!! Who does that anymore??? The store part seemed like it needs a serious deep cleaning and they sell the usual garb you find at any truck stop.
The bathroom was a disaster. I decided to drop a deuce and walked into the first open stall and almost immediately puked, used toilet paper was piled high next to the toilet. Nope I'll just hold it, I don't wanna get a disease.
I was very hungry and the food smelled delicious so I decided to try out the restaurant and I went in and took a seat. The guy behind the register made eye contact with me but never acknowledged me. I sat there for about five minutes while two other guys walked in and sat down and he immediately approached them and took their drink order. Maybe next time I will wear my flip flops and turbine so I can get service. Who am I kidding, I wo t be back here again.
So I went across the road and ate some bisquits and gravy. Don't waste your time at this place unless you have no other choice late at night...
