We stayed here for 7 nights in early June 2024, 2025 and the last week of October 2024 & 2025. The staff was very friendly and tried to be as accommodating as possible. They treated us and our pup Blackjack like family. The general manager was a sweetheart of a young lady named Mary up through our June 2025 stays as were the others we interacted with. The campground itself has a very nice pool, 500' long water slide, playgrounds for kids and other amenities at the general store.
Initially in June 2024 we had some difficulty finding our site since we came in after the registration office closed. Due to a lack of street signs, we had to rely on using campsite numbers as reference points which weren't in an exact order and didn't easily stand out. But, with some patience we were able to locate our site which was next to a creek. (However, since our October 2024 stay site number signs have been visibly upgraded) Our site was reasonably easy to set up our 38' Class A. The sites have nice shade trees to help keep things cool. The park map had road names but the lack of signs did add a slight challenge. I spoke to the general manager Mary in 2024 and she stated new signs were on order and the old signs had been damaged and some removed by customers.
The wifi was mostly adequate but occasionally slow during peak hours. (This seems to have been upgraded since our earlier stays in 2024.) Depending on what type of TVs you have signing into the wifi may be an issue. We had one Vizio and one ONN ROKU from Wal-Mart. The ONN/ROKU was newer and offered the option to sign in as if in a dorm or hotel which is key to their wifi connection.
Verizon cellular service was mostly non existent so wifi connection was critical for communication. (Since our stays in 2024 Verizon service was a bit better.)
Since our 2024 stays and early June 2025 visit, there seems to be more bear activity within the campground. We were informed at check-in during our October 2025 visit that there had been an increase in bear activity recently. This isn't necessarily an unusual thing but one controllable thing is their access to the easily available food source being non bear proof waste dumpsters.
There was a reported incident of a bear supposedly ripping the wall of an experienced occupied campers tent since our earlier June 2025 visit. This incident led to contacting the TN Wildlife Resources division whom placed a trap near the site resulting in the capture of a large male black bear. Sadly due to being a dominant male bear, it couldn't be relocated into another area habitat and requred it be euthanized. Had the bear proof containers been implemented this unfortunate incident might have been prevented. According to the present manager corporate has agreed to the purchase and installation of necessary equipment to prevent further food access. Hopefully, this will be implemented before the 2026 campground season.
The campground is reasonably convenient to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge as well as all of the national park.
I would recommend this Campground to my...
Read moreI hope the owners of the campground reads this and corrects some of the issues....My kids love to come to this campground, so we come here often. This visit (October 2023), wasn't so good. It was very crowded, which I expected, but what I wasn't expecting was to be sandwiched between two campers, both with dogs. (We had a tent) One of my neighbors played music ALL DAY. I asked the staff if they could do something about it, but because it wasn't quiet time, they couldn't. However, when my neighbors decided to play loud music and start dancing at 1am, a staff member showed up quickly and quieted them down. In all of my years of camping, this was the first time that someone had come that fast to quiet down loud people (Thank you for doing that!!) My camping spot, #97, was not the same as the picture on the website. According to the website, #97 should have a small deck over the stream that runs throughout the campground. Mine did not. (See last picture) Also, the site does not look directly over the stream. There is a walking trail between my site and the stream. I could hear the rushing water, when my neighbor's music was off.The website definitely needs to be updated. The main reason we come here is for the Gaga Ball pit and the activities. The Gaga ball pit became a HUGE red clay mud pit after the rain. It stayed that way for most of our visit. The campground needs to bring in some sand or more dirt and raise it up so the rain water does not settle in the middle of it. Also, the playground is for older children. I really wish the campground would add a few more things for younger children to climb and play on. The activities were good. However, I don't know why they don't have some activities throughout the week. Other campgrounds do. My kids got bored when many of the other kids left on Sunday and they were ready to go home. (Our reservation was through Wednesday.) My number one complaint would be that the bathrooms should be checked more often. The woman's bathroom was gross for 2 days until I finally said something to the office. Speaking of bathrooms, the showers stalls have locks on the inside and outside. I'm not sure why the locks are on the outside but someone thought it would be funny to lock a child inside the shower stall. He screamed like I've never heard before. Fortunately, someone let him out. (The shower stalls also need more hooks to hang items.) The staff was great and super-friendly. They were definitely one of the best parts to our trip. Adventurebound is blessed to have these people manage and work their property. We will be back, but will definitely choose a different spot. (We had a different spot originally but we're moved because of damage to that site. Crap happens-I get it.) Perhaps we will ask for a spot more suitable for a tent and less suitable for campers with...
Read moreVisited here in late July 2019, here's my quick pros/cons of the campground...
Pros: Kids love the water-slide (consider expanding it), Love the Jack Tales activities (you should expand that to a daily activity for the kids), the playground is okay, the store is pretty good for a camping store and the prices I think are about right, the bathrooms are decently clean, the pool is a good size, but some umbrellas for shade would help immensely, the game room is okay (a little beat up and could be updated with very little cash investment).
Cons: Bring in some new crushed rock (I haven't seen new "crush and run" as it's called in over 5 years) for both the roads and campsites, our campsite (#15) was mostly mud and dirt. Also, our campsite was so not level, our sewer hoses had to travel uphill to the drain. Here was the biggest issue we had a few weeks back, our sites electrical was NOT grounded and essentially our entire RV was electrified. Our dog was shocked twice and freaked out (yelping/running scared, etc.), daughters were shocked twice and I was shocked a few times. The staff was very helpful and offered to move us, but by the time we figured it out we were set to leave the next day (5 day stay). Also, the RV's that you rent, the roofs are black from not being cleaned, looks pretty bad. One other thing, my daughters would not swim in the main pool for a few days because there were a lot of little ones in the pool wearing "swim diapers" and they said the water smelled like poo poo. There should be a regulation that no swim diapers are allowed in the main pool. Let's face it, any diaper with poo in it is going to let some amount of waste into the water. One last thing (sorry), but the WiFi, non-existent on the weekends or whenever the campground is near full (3-5 Mbps download...maybe). Where the campsite is located our T-Mobile phones will not work, but if there was adequate WiFi we could have made WiFi calls. This was especially bad for me, because I couldn't make any business calls without driving up the road about 3 miles.
Hope this helps someone, and I hate to sound too negative, we might still visit again, but will probably try out another campground next...
