Black Bear Lookout Cabin — Hotel in Gatlinburg

I took my time to research the perfect size cabin for my family of 5 for our vacation stay in the Smokies. Black Bear Lookout is a moderately priced cabin (compared to others in the area) which is perfect for an average size family in that it has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, good size dining area, has a great view, yet is still within 7-15 minutes of food and attractions of Gatlinburg. A great, quiet place to relax, with a great view. One thing to note is if you book this cabin, be prepared for a few steep, switchback roads--a few sections which could use a guardrail-- to get there. 5 nights just wasn't long enough to enjoy this cabin. Beautiful panoramic views, Excellent accommodations for four. Very comfortable, well appointed, and fun times for all. And yes, we saw not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE bears all at the same time. I knew they could climb trees. I didn't know they could move around in them so adeptly. Fascinating!...

Wonderful, clean, rental company was responsive and the views were great. The kitchen items were great, could have used some wine glasses was the only thing we could think of. ...
